| Is it true what is said about southern women? Posted: 12/3/2006 6:28:36 PM | | Uh, did I miss something? Who said anything about southern women being money hungry drama queens? I don't know to whom you are referring, but I am as southern as they get, and I AM NOT money hungry. Now if you want to see drama, keep making such remarks about us fine ladies of the south! You'll get your drama. Hmmm, and to think I thought I knew who you were...reincarnated friend. Must have been wrong. | |

| Is it true what is said about southern women? Posted: 1/27/2007 2:43:37 PM | You have not found the right one then. I am a very good cook and not just southern fried chicken. Can make egg rolls that will spoil you from any in a Chinese restaurant, lasagna or seafood linguini like the best Italian mom, or chicken enchiladas that will have you begging for more. None of it from a box. You keep looking you may just find the right one! | |

| Is it true what is said about southern women? Posted: 1/27/2007 3:17:55 PM | | Poor Olivia must be from the north and knows that northern men are crazy about a southern accent. Just for the record, we are just as dignified as any other part of the country. We may talk slow and with a drawl but I can guarantee you that says nothing about our intelligence, dignity or morals. By the way, since you dislike it so much, if you live in the south, please go north and don't come here to vacation. | |

As far as Olivia is concerned, I expressed pretty much the same thing on page 4, only I don't think I was as nice about it! Hell hath no fury than a woman scorned, unless it's a southern woman being made fun of unjustly so!

| Is it true what is said about southern women? Posted: 1/27/2007 8:53:03 PM | I grew up here in Georgia from the age of 4, after Texas, Delaware, Alabama and Kadena Air Base in Okinawa. Both parents are from Georgia, my mother is a true genteel southern lady, her accent was subtle not strong as it should be. Mine is almost none existent, I sound, well, I don't really have an accent. I can talk with a southern accent when I want to.
Now about the cooking part, I can cook, just don't like to, and yes I take short cuts and use box dinners at times. Weekends are for when I cook from scratch. Although, I have yet to master my grandma's biscuits, those were melt in your mouth good.

Not only can we cook but we also aim to please, we have the sweetiest aroma about us like//sugar & honey... Once you get a taste of that or have been hosted by a southern belle, you wouldnt want to North again... There is always food on the table and plenty to eat. You will not go hungry in one our homes... (isnt that right girls) and we will always make you feel right at home....We are gentle, we are WOMAN...

| Is it true what is said about southern women? Posted: 1/28/2007 5:52:58 AM | | I can give you an amen to all except the part of there always being food on the table. With it just being my son and me, and his schedule being soooo crazy, there isn't always a full-fledge meal cooked. Now if I KNOW he's going to be home, or if company is coming, that's a different story! Just wish I had someone to clean up after me!! | |

| Is it true what is said about southern women? Posted: 1/28/2007 11:34:19 AM | Born and raised in Florida but I do love to cook for company... reminds me of something a fella once said to me, "You do love to cook don't you"... sigh... anyway,
So what is it that southern women are supposed to be known for, besides cooking?

| Is it true what is said about southern women? Posted: 1/28/2007 2:42:59 PM | "brwnId" Where... pray tell ....are these women of which you speak? Or are you the last one? Your "fishy" must really have something on the ball... Good Grief! Skunk | |

| Is it true what is said about southern women? Posted: 1/28/2007 5:49:39 PM | | gosh, skunk, I'd like to think that applies to all my southern women friends here in the pond! Seriously, I was just raised to treat people better than how you'd like to be treated, or at least as good...show love and kindness and get it in return. Of course, it took me a few tries to get it right. I was the one doing ALL the giving and getting NOTHING in return! As far as my "fishy" is concerned, he's a great guy! He's warm, affectionate, with that natural charm. Doesn't put on airs and pretend to be what he's not. It's still a little early to tell if he's going to be my forever fishy, but like he and my wonderful friend sneaks keep reminding me, "slow and steady wins the race." So far, so good!! | |

| Is it true what is said about southern women? Posted: 1/29/2007 4:53:13 PM | A friend of mine read this thread. She is currently living in upstate New York. She asked if she could be made "Southern by Injection". I just laffed and shook my head.... | |

(Just Guessing) "blu" they put too many wafers in it on this end...I think it needs more nannas and wicked cream. Still good though! Good Grief! Skunk
