| What do you girls think about guys with guns? Posted: 3/15/2006 8:24:34 PM | The only time I ever had a real problem with it was the night my husband loaded it and held it to my head. I love venison, and as Ted Nugent has said... "kill it & grill it!" And for anyone from PETA who reads this... I have some awesome RABBIT recipes! Funny thing, come hunting season, with everyone taking guns, someone usually takes a camera, too! Then they take a picture... I don't know too many guys who DON'T have guns. And if I go on a date with a man who takes a gun... I wonder why he isn't taking me to a better part of town! | |

If he is holding a gun I almost melt Apart from in that context, some random guy brandishing a gun would probably only warrant a concerned/dumbfounded look.
P.S. 'A man in uniform' doesn't mean a postal worker with an uzi..lol

Guns.... as in shooting... killing........... BAD!!!!
I must ad mit.. My granddad had guns...... and my cousins and I would shoot... Snapping turtles (they hurt the cattle in the pond) and water mocisons (I'm sure I mis-spelled that) I enjoyed spending time with my cousins.. but didn't really enjoy handling a gun.........
Don't really want to be with someone that has a fixation with guns either.........
Definately NOT a turn on for me!

Posted: 4/26/2006 9:08:30 PM | | Let's face it.. holding a gun does make a guy feel pretty damn powerful I think its more of an ego thing Alot of men use guns as a way to empower themselves If they're a cop or in the military, even into hunting or the outdoors then owning a gun maybe is understandable.. but if a guy has an obsession with them and is always waving it around.... (the gun i mean) yeah that does make him look like a phycho in the eyes of most women which is not good

I have carried canceled since the early 1960’s. If someone doesn’t like that, well, then away with them. Who cares! There are people I have arrested getting out of prison each year. If one holds a grudge, I’m ready.

Now weapons is a different story.
I am really surprized at how many women claim to like camping and the outdoors but say they dislike weapons.
~Indigo are you anyplace near Sioux Falls?

| What do you girls think about guys with guns? Posted: 4/27/2006 3:35:37 AM | I am pro-gun. I like what guns can do for me and I own several guns. However I would be a little concerned about a guy who feels a need to post pictures of himself with guns. He MIGHT be just a bit too macho and irrational. Real men/women don't need to brag about their guns. They just need to quietly shoot the bad guys with them.
On the other hand, people post pics of themselves skiing, riding bikes, playing with their dogs, skating etc to show what they enjoy. So what's wrong with a pic of guns if they are your hobby? I don't believe the saying "A picture is worth a 1000 words." Picutres don't tell you much about the person's attitude and that is what's most important and you only get to know that by getting to know the person...NOT by looking at a picture, a snapshot in time.

I can't even imagine putting a pic of myself with one of my guns on here. Just doesn't suit the purpose. I have a policy about online friends, the are what I call PMKCM's (this stands for psychotic mommy killing canabalistic maniacs) until they prove otherwise. Don't give me more reason to believe you really are.

I also have a rule of thumb for everyone I talk to online. I assume they are all writing to me from the day-room in the mental hospital where they live. But I like yours too...you are a bit more specific AND have an acronym! PMKCM's....it's a good rule.

| What do you girls think about guys with guns? Posted: 4/27/2006 8:34:32 AM | I have seen a few profiles on different sites where the person is holding the gun to their own head? What were they thinking? How is that suicidal nut job of a picture going to attract someone? | |

| What do you girls think about guys with guns? Posted: 4/27/2006 8:39:23 AM | How do you get your little quotey thingy to show up in a box?
Anyways, I'm totally put off by the idea of a guy owning a gun. Unless you are a law enforcment official or affiliated, you do not need one. More often than not, people who own guns don't have proper training, and the wrong person gets hurt.
Show me your "other" gun, then we can talk!

Honestly, this isn't always the case. I live way out in the country. I was told (by the police) that if I wanted proper protection for my family I need to make sure and have a gun and know how to use it. I do and I will.
When you are posting look right above the smileys to your right. It explains how to do a quote.

I live way out in the country.
If this is the case, then I totally understand your need to own firearms. It was my own ignorance in not remembering those who live in rural areas.
I was speaking more about men I meet in the city. I live in a pretty damn big urban city. If I find out a guy owns a gun and he's not a police officer, I want nothing to do with him. Chances are, he's got it for all the wrong reasons.

| What do you girls think about guys with guns? Posted: 4/27/2006 9:39:20 AM | | Ah, not ignorance at all, hun. I agree about meeting a guy living in the city, showing off his guns. Pretty creepy. It is frightening being a female sometimes. :) | |
