To know the full story you have to read the original thread. I do admit we did get suckered into this one...can't be perfect now or we would be paid to do this

I much prefer the more subtle jabs, as opposed to "HEY YOU SUCK, YOU'RE DUMB ST00PID HEAD!" insults traded in here. - A Boy Named Sue
The term drifting lazily through my mind right now is "Monday morning quarterback."

| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/26/2006 10:44:15 AM | Hey, he's right. Let's see a few examples of your superior and subtle jabs, Sue. Maybe your example can help us become better people...or at least, better insulters.
Enlighten us, O wise one.

| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 2:52:59 PM | FIRST OF ALL, I posted on Saturday, not Monday morning.
Second, you people are way too hostile for my OH-SO subtle taste.
If I wanted a flame war (with someone OTHER than the overprotective MODs here), I would go to the other boards I frequent, and not here. As it stands, there's nothing for me to prove here, as I actually posted in this thread when it began, and gave the poor girl the review she was so desperately craving.
KThx.
Edit: In fact, if you read my original reply, I subtley got my jabs in at her without her even realizing it. She even thanked me for the review. Proving that I was either too subtle, or she was/is too dumb.

Wow, you big meanie-head. You're really pulling out the big guns, aren't you?
I've loved reading this whole thread, but laughed out loud when I got to that comment. And I'm more of a quiet grinner than a laugh out loud sort of person.
It's so hard to politely insult someone who doesn't GET subtle. I belong to another forum (not a match/dating one) where we really aren't allowed to get into flaming, but there's a new member there who is so much like Sassy....hey, maybe it even IS Sassy?) and she is really trying our patience and creativity. Even the mods there are flummoxed.
I'm sorry. I'm usually a pretty nice person. But there is just something about watching someone self destruct that tickles my fancy. (Am I allowed to say that on here?)
Thanks for the entertainment.

| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 4:53:43 PM | Um, regarding the "help" about the Monday morning quarteback thing.
Yeah, I mean you got your dictionary out and everything, so you must have put some time into it, and well... WHAT I WROTE ABOUT "SATURDAY" WAS CALLED SARCASM.
Excuse me, I get all little "Roid Rage-y" after lifting.

| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 5:14:19 PM | That's a stereotype.
I don't believe in stereotypes. If I did, I could put forth a very easy and obvious one about you.
Also I think the less than serious nature of my replies are just SAILING over your head.
|
| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 5:16:25 PM | Over my head? I wasn't aware you'd sailed any my way.
You may be confusing me with someone else you've typed to recently. That sort of thing happens, I'm told.
Are you a steroid user? If so, maybe you can answer my question in a polite (and ideally, subtle) manner.
|
| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 5:26:13 PM | Well, considering the fact that you have been just trying to "bait" me with your last three replys, I find it odd, that you are now telling me to respond to you in a polite manner.
Why is it that you can make a joke about people using steroids supposedly having small equipment (I am unaware if this is true or not, I am not a user, but thanks for the compliment of asking if I was one), after I make a joke about roid-rage, yet I am supposed to reply to said comment in a polite way.
You are obviously trying to start something with me, and I have no doubt that the fact that I am unwilling to take the low road with you will cause something along the lines of a
"No, I wasn't starting anything, you're misreading what I wrote" response from you.
I have no chance of winning whatever battle it is that you are trying to start here, as I would assume you have more friends on this forum who will side with you, due to me checking this site once a day (at most), as opposed to you being far more active here.
|
| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 5:29:12 PM | I presumed you were one, since you answered, and since you referred to having roid rage. I read back and do not see where I "made a joke;" I see where I "asked a question." If you don't know, that's fine.
And really, you shouldn't pretend to be an expert in something if you're not. People expect honesty.
As far as your belief that I am somehow "baiting" you: Have you, perhaps, heard of the phenomenon of "projection"?
P.S. I'm curious to know why you would think I'm on here more often than you. Are you keeping tabs on me? How odd.
|
| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 5:32:41 PM | Mr original reply: Excuse me, I get all little "Roid Rage-y" after lifting.
Your response: "Is it true that steroid use shrinks men's testicles (and other bits)? Can anyone confirm or deny? If it's true, no wonder they're so angry."
How was that NOT directed at me?
Your statement: "And really, you shouldn't pretend to be an expert in something if you're not. People expect honesty."
Please tell me where I claimed to be an expert, other than the throwaway line?
|
| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 5:37:11 PM | That's a stereotype. Your statement, "That's a stereotype," implied you were knowledgeable enough on the subject to put forward such a strong opinion. When you subsequently said, "I don't know," it became clear you spoke out of turn.
As far as thinking everything in the world is about you; when you mentioned steroids, it reminded me that I wanted to ask the question I did. It is my understanding that steroid users also tend to be more angry and violent than non-users. I asked the question, you answered it; but then it turned out you did not, in fact, know.
I hope this makes things more clear for you.
|
| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 5:41:49 PM | Alright, do you want me to say "You're right"? Will that make you drop this? Because it's getting old, and I make it a point to avoid dealing with people like you on other boards.
I am trying so hard to keep this mature, but it would be so easy not to just looking at your profile picture.
So I shall go (There are no people in my area that I want to talk to online).
|
| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 5:42:44 PM | Yes, by all means, don't feel you need to stay on my account, especially if you have nothing of any importance to say.
Buh bye now!!
P.S. Well, ladies and gentlemen, that's two that have now deleted themselves and run for the hills in abject defeat. Shall we try for three? LOL!

| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 6:02:04 PM | Argh! No, dammit! He was mine! MINE! Oh, God! I copied and pasted all that text into a file, and I was about to start ripping, and then I get to the end, and I realized, wait, he deleted his profile, too!
I'm too late! NO!
*resigned sigh* *muffled sob*
Good one, Ms. Ann. He never stood a chance.

| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 6:16:58 PM | | It is extremely true that steroid use can and does shrink testicles. Just like it can also remove other body functions. It can make someone etremely aggressive too. It just gives such an euphoria that nothing but else matters. Since no pain can be felt. Eventually repeayed Stroid use can cause kidney problems, and a host of other problems. | |

| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/27/2006 8:44:47 PM | Dang it all.
I go out to dinner with the lovely BraZen and miss all the fun.
:: sobs ::
P.S. I don't understand it when people try to make up some lame excuse when they don't know something rather than 'fess up. Is it really all that difficult to say "my bad"?
|
| looking to have profile REVIEWED not JUDGED Posted: 3/28/2006 6:26:13 PM | Gothy, I would much rather have had dinner with Brazen. For all his bluster, Sue wasn't that much fun.
Molonel, I was channeling you while replying, swear to God. You're my role model. Heh!
