| You think YOU have it tough?? Try being a redheaded guy! Posted: 6/29/2007 7:39:37 AM | This thread caught my eye, mostly because I have had several redheaded men in my life. And while the relationships didn't last, they all were excellant lovers and had the bluest eyes. I have found that from my experiences, that they were very generous, and while that is a good thing, they were also, very flirty with other women, and that does eventually wear thin. I would not say I prefer redhaired men, but with the right attitude, and maturity, I would definately respond to his interest in me. So, you redhaired men, don't waste your time with women who, have a problem with hair color. There are plenty of us, who know it is what is on the inside, that counts. | |

Just kidding. There goes your silly beliefs.
Anyways, I may be biased, but I think redheaded men are extremely attractive.

It is whats on the inside that counts. Just make sure you have the right attitude with it, because a good attitude surely helps also.

| You think YOU have it tough?? Try being a redheaded guy! Posted: 6/29/2007 4:29:14 PM | I can't believe I read every freakin'one...
As a former redhead who once married a redhead,I'd say the stereotypes are about as accurate as most.(They're not).
Mine started out strawberry, got sunbleached blonde when I grew it down to my ass,(there were some girls who loved that...),then when I cut it short it turned much darker. Now that it's all turning white,at least I don't get the "red on the head" jokes anymore.
As to preferences,I agree with the one who said it would be pretty boring if we were all the same.Personally I like women, regardless of hair color, age, toenail length,or if the carpet matches the drapes.(Another fun thread). And I'm really glad the big man has a sense of humor!(He must, just look at us!)
Now where are those women who love redheads...

OP: I just read your profile. YIKES. It's not your hair that's turning them if, it's that profile. Yuck -- a total rant.
I have an 82 year old friend, who still runs 3 miles on the beach every day. He's suave, attractive (even at 82), and has had women all over him all his life. Yep, he was a red head. The ladies fell all over him even when it still was flaming red. I also know his son. Another flaming red head, married to a gorgeous Russian woman who he met while he was living there (he's an international consultant).
Not sure what your problem is, but PLEASE change that profile before you cause injury to another innocent POFer.

Where are all these beautiful women who appreciate redheads in the real world!
Crown of fire...according to my son...they're all down in Mississippi! You want me to get him to send some of these girls up north to Ohio??? LOL!

Personally I prefer red heads and bald guys with smooth (hairless) bodies, then dark hair and on down the line. So, look out we are out there. Good luck where you are.

Thank you--though red I shall stay. Shaven is simply not an option. Now that I've come to accept the Scot in my blood is not wholly dormant, maybe I can defy fate and keep my ruby mane--or if not, the running joke in my family used to be that I may end up looking like a red-haired version of the hippie father on Dharma & Greg.

Have to agree with you on that, too. Would that we could vote to revoke his redhead status.
I don't know why you think the way you do...
It is my life's experience. When the same thing happens over and over again, you start to believe it--like you can tell me the sun will rise in the West and set in the East; I've seen the reverse happen so many times I'd have a hard time believing you. I've always been treated differently because of it, always found myself as the center of attention despite my best efforts. While I've never had a sober girl blame my red hair as a deal breaker, there is truth in beer.
A few years I finally accepted that it's not going to change color, so I may as well embrace it and enjoy the perks--but that doesn't make the costs go away. Just ask any well-endowed woman who has learned to love her breasts--and if she disagrees with me at first, ask about her back.
To paraphrase the great philosopher of our time: "[long red hair]; the cause of, and solution to, all of [my] life's problems." -Homer Simpson.

Actually, that doesn't surprise me. Most of the girls I've been closest to have been Texan, coincidentally. There's nothing quite like South'ron women.

| You think YOU have it tough?? Try being a redheaded guy! Posted: 6/29/2007 8:30:02 PM | My mom and grandmother were both redheads, but alas, it didn't get passed down.
I've always been partial to red hair, but I'd have to be half my age to date the red heads here (or have asbestos gloves for the OP, lol).

| You think YOU have it tough?? Try being a redheaded guy! Posted: 6/29/2007 8:47:31 PM | Redwolf.
I had this problem as a youngster. Red on the head like the underside of dog.
Then the air force sent me to Japan. Oh, man!
Just imagine yourself as being the man simply because you have the most highly evolved hair on the planet, and don't worry about the lower life forms thinking poorly of you. It's jealousy. LOL
Hey, it's all how you look at it. If you think of yourself as A-OK, they will, too.
Peace out. | |

I would perfer a man without an earring or any body piercing. You are diffinitly not my type. I am going by your age and profile. Other than that, there seems to be nothing else wrong with you. This is only my opinion other people may not mind body piercing or earrings.

| You think YOU have it tough?? Try being a redheaded guy! Posted: 6/30/2007 12:50:43 AM | I think there is a slight -- VERY slight, disadvantage to a guy being redheaded. It's common for RH's not to be able to tan (I am one), which does suck. Whatever does exist you easily can make up in charm, poise, and another color:
GREEN

| You think YOU have it tough?? Try being a redheaded guy! Posted: 6/30/2007 6:07:52 AM | I have reddish hair, and haven't had any complaints.
I'm not sure if the hair has been a problem for you more in person than on this website, but your profile is basically just you complaining. In someone else's words, people aren't going to be very attracted if they open up a profile for the first time and feel like they're getting yelled at.

Posted: 6/30/2007 9:44:03 AM | | Whoa and of course you don't discriminate {well over 1/2 of the women that I would think about e-mailing ...but for the most part (at least alot of the women I would think of e-mailing) women don't like redheads. } Well guess what? most of those women that you wouldn't think about e-mailing don't like redheads either. But cheer up, some of them aren't attracted to blondes either.

| You think YOU have it tough?? Try being a redheaded guy! Posted: 6/30/2007 9:11:40 PM | Well, maybe I'm biased but haircolor has nothing to do with it for me.
Honestly, if you are talking attraction at first sight without EVER talking to the person, it's eyebrows.... yes, freaky but the eyes and the eyebrows are what make a man sexy to me.

| You think YOU have it tough?? Try being a redheaded guy! Posted: 6/30/2007 11:24:58 PM | I would have to agree that yea, red haired men have a slight disadvantage because somehow, the powers that be have, over time, decreed certain physical characteristics as "ideal" and were never, ever red haired. And this ideal continues to this day, and red haired men are usually the Ritchie Cunningham, book-ish types and not the dashing, if reckless, rogue Sad, but true.
Every romance novel, every film that features a protagonist/hero is dark haired or blonde, sometimes brunette, but rarely red haired. If anyone can provide examples to the contrary, by all means, share.
That said, one of my first, significant almost-romances was with a red headed guy. I later attempted to write a short-short story (or post card story) entitled "Red" that was influenced by this guy. For the longest time afterward, I was attracted to red haired guys.
Then, I began to notice it was the shade, or hue of red that mattered. I knew guys who had reddish tones, but they were more of an orange-y red, or apricot and I don't find that attractive, but the darker, auburn-y shades definitely are!
Red hair runs in my family--my mother didn't get it thankfully, 'cos the shade which several of my aunts and uncles have is that awful, orange-y red, but I definitely have the reddish undertones!
And, I have to add (as any chance to mention Him is always a bonus), Bono has reddish hair naturally, but has dyed it dark for years, so I gotta love that!
