| Does anyone else here pay attention to the backgrounds of the profile pics? Posted: 3/18/2006 9:00:05 PM | Mystlw, OMG, you made me laugh! I never thought of it that way! Now I will assume every guy pic pictured in a clean Martha Stewart decor is either married, living with his mother, or more likely, gay.
I guess everyone needs to learn to use Adobe Photoshop, lol. I use it to crop out the laundry on the Queen Anne sofa at the end of my bed, hee hee.

I especially like the ones where the guy looks like he's sneaking a picture in before "someone" catches him...(head tilted back as if he's looking to see who's coming...and pointing the camera at what he hopes is his "best side"!! )

They are usually taken in their bedrooms....unmade beds (oh the horror!!), porn laying about, one had a bra on the bed.
I like 'em, they are amusing!!

Sometimes you can figure it out from their profile description, but not always.

I also noticed looking at my own pics that I still haven't hung all my pictures since I moved...I need to get on that..oh wait then would I have to take more pics with the pictures hung?
LOL you can tell there is no woman in my life because of this. I took a look around my place, there is not one picture hanging up in my house. Nothing. LOL no nick nacks to dust either. Unless you count mail at the doorstep.
LOL
wow I just realized I need more clutter!

Posted: 6/22/2007 9:26:30 PM | Scenes around alot of glitz, expensive cars, damn near castle like homes, jewelry that could anchor a small fleet, evening gowns, etc., might indicate I'd best have won the lottery in order to maintain the quality of life behind the person. Or in contrast, those background shots of high society just might indicative of the last divorce settlement...still a red flag.
Hmm . . . and it never occurred to you that the lady might have a big house, an expensive car, and a lot of bling because SHE has a successful business and can afford it herself?
I've never had one person ask me if the reason I can afford my lifestyle was because some man gave it to me.
Kinda makes me glad I have a tight head shot. I wouldn't want you to feel you had to ask me how I could afford the artwork or the furniture!

Yeah when I see those lines that indicate height in the background and I can see the top half of the letters for "Broward County Jail" cropped off at the bottom of the pic, I normally move on.
I wonder how many felons stand on tiptoe to make themselves look taller in their mugshots?

| Does anyone else here pay attention to the backgrounds of the profile pics? Posted: 6/22/2007 10:41:09 PM | Too true! I always inspect the backgrounds... Clutter isnt the issue... It's advertising. If you put a pic up to represent yourself, it should/does... Im sure guys or girls sprawled out on their porsche, audi, or monster truck are hoping to impress with that. While candids in a home space, just tell about their environment.... traditional, country bumpkin, or trailer home, cluttered or tidy office, etc... are kaleidoscopes into their personality. The ones I love most are when they finally send you a pic, with the caption "hope you like" and all 3 look like they're a psychopath.... Not concerned with how someone looks as much as - if they cant tell the pic makes them look like they're on Americas most wanted list, then THAT'S SCARY!
READ into the photographs .... like they say.. a picture is worth a thousand (emails?) Just think of how investigators pull from the shadows for clues to solve mysteries..... It's all there.

Remembering many shots Ive seen, Im a stickler for checking out the surroundings and backgrounds in a profile pics or one thats been sent to me. I love checking out the book cases if guy has more books than me,what they read....its very interesting what men have on their shelves even more curious if they keep a cleaner house than me. I hope I picked up my socks before taking my shots lol.Tho most end up outside with trees as background. Beach shots of guys I think they are scared to have to much of a close up maybe for shrinkage issues? lol

Heck, I just noticed that in my pic, I have my sleeping bag hanging on the cloths line airing out. lol I wouldn't want a neat freak anyway, yuk ! A home should look lived in and enjoyed. I wouldn't want to see 18 beer cans on the dining table though... That would scare me away !
