Before taking the test on chemistry, I really did not believe in it, but after answering the questions truthfully, and the results posted, I became aware that I have tremendous tendencies the same of two generations my junior.
Also I have found that my appetite has not diminshed over the years
If you have the right chemistyry, and smells, you cant get enough of each other

You gotta be careful with the younger women who are simply out to replace their father who abandoned them as a child. They are out to repeat their cycle, and if you don't make like you're abandoning them at every moment, they will lose interest right around the time you fall in love with them and decide you can't live without them.
We've probably eliminated 50% of the younger women who like older men with the above scenario.
Nope, daddy didn't abandon me.
25%.....Clone Mel Gibson, and take all the money and fame away from the clone. Give him a job as a manager at Burger King and let him drive a used Honda Civic, oh, say '96, with 100,000 miles on it. My guess is that Original Mel does just fine with these 25% and the Clone gets exactly *zero* interest
Okay, I know I am going to be called shallow and various other things, but I am going to be honest. I don't care what you look like or how old you are. Working at BK and driving an unreliable care screams "I DON'T HAVE MY LIFE TOGETHER!" I wouldn't date Brad Pitt if that were him.
As to finding men over 40 attractive... my last boyfriend was 49. HE was the one with a problem over the age difference.
I tend to be attracted to older men because I love the way their eyes crinkle when the smile, I love the way they TEND to be more respectful of women, I love the fact that on a deeper level I tend to have more in common with them than with a 31 year old guy who can tell me all about Halo 3 but can't tell me their thoughts on microloans or who they support for president and why.
Anyways, that's just my 2 cents. Let the bashing begin | |

In many cases age will not even come up until you have been on a few dates( unless it is that obvious)
If you are still active, do things that are considered young..
It will not be an issue
It is much harder to get over it here on the internet where your age is posted for the world to see.
Even then. If you meet for a date & carry yourself well, that issue goes away quickly.

I find it kinds funny how the men are looking for younger women as per say is the norm but when looking at most of the females profiles if they are close to 40 they all want men to be in the early 30. But.. and I find this hilarious.. being in service (and as a woman privy to the talk in public bathrooms) I have heard many young women (18-24) who express disgust with any man over 30.... "Like, EEEEEEWWWWW, he's a fossil", or "that's just gross did you see that old guy try to pick me up?.. he's old enough to be my granddad".. and such. Some men would be MORTIFIED to hear what I have heard. (I'm sure it goes both ways)
The reason I find it funny is I look at said particular guy and he's oblivious... I'm pretty sure he sees himself as an attractive man, and he might be, but to these younger girls he's just gross.
Being "older" myself though... one thing I have noticed is that with age I am able to see and appreciate men who are older but attractive... when 20 years ago they would not have even set off my radar at all. They were invisible to me as sexual beings.
I would also be very aware that some young girls are very aware of their sexual power and do use it to manipulate older men to get what they want... I overhear that also.. it kind of makes me ill... but it's a reality.
There are also young women who desperately need a father figure... for whatever reason... that might not be the best basis for a relationship.

Posted: 2/18/2008 2:00:10 PM | I've actually been approached by more than a few younger women (lower to mid twenties) and I'm 41. Most of them were looking for a sugar daddy (I'm way to broke for that) or had some sort of wierd daddy-complex (not going to get into THAT can of worms). I'm sure a few were straight up legit women who just liked older men but I just can't date a women whos just a few older than my daughter. Besides the "ick" factor (which is something I just really couldn't get around no matter how hard I tired) I just don't see what we would really have to talk about.
Not to mention I'm sure they would've eventually wanted children and I am SO not going to become a father again.
Guess I'll just have to stick with women around my own age... | |

Are we talking about a gal in her early to mid twenties that is interested in someone in their 40's? Or are we talking about someone just a few years younger. Believe me, there is a huge difference.
I am forty one years old, and I don't care how much interest someone in their twenties shows me. I have no interest in dealing with those intergenerational gaps that just add another point of contention in a relationship. And I haven't even started on the "ick" factor that this brings up for me.
On several occasions, I have had gals in their late thirties tell me that I am too old, which does kind of irk me a bit. Obviously, it's a personal preference I guess. It's just one I don't understand, although I do accept it.
