Example 1:
1. This site is free
SO the assumption follows:
2. The admin is running this site as a charity.
SO the assumption is also that:
3. The admin cannot afford to hire a staff.
Whatever. There are plenty of well-placed ads on this site, and I'm sure "Admin" is getting his.. There are plenty of ad driven "free" sites on the net that have a staff to address various concerns of the clientelle.
Example 2:
1. This site is so open that the "Admin" has created a free forum for discussion RE: the site and it's policies.
SO the assumption is:
2. How dare you USE the forum to address any grievences you have with the "Admin"? I mean other sites don't even PROVIDE a forum such as this!
If you didn't want to have this forum, you should not have set it up.
I've been waiting patiently (nearly a month) for the "Admin" to "find a minute" to address an issue I have RE: pic policy. NO, the pics in question do not fit snugly into the topic of this discussion. YES, the pics in question were of ME. NO, they were not nude. NO, I have not received a valid response concerning my issue from either the "moderators" or the "admin" of this site.
Free site or not, there are customers here. It would make sense to treat us as such. You know, though, if you ignore us long enough... We may stop calling. | |

Posted: 5/22/2006 4:00:48 PM | A normal site this size needs 300-400 people to edit images and profiles. Basically 1 person for every 2,000 visitors/day. Those are standard industry numbers..
Even small sites have over 100 employees just to do this.

300 workers * $2,000/month = $600,000
Now add on top of that HR, admin etc and its easy to see why other sites this size have a run rate of close to $10 million a MONTH. The rules are clear, if there is any question about the rules then the simple answer it is not allowed. | |

Yesterday I loaded two "web" pics to my profile just to show some of my intrests. Since I don't ever find my way to the forums had no idea of the new rules. Now all of my pics have been deleted.
Why not just the pic in question?
Why no warning?
Will the image uploading ever be enabled again?

Posted: 5/23/2006 8:17:06 AM | Access to the rules regarding IMAGES can be found in the same place you tried to upload your IMAGES in the first place. It just takes some time to read them, which in your case it would seem that you did not.
If the IMAGES did not contain a person more then likely it was REJECTED .

You can upload up to 8 images, you may keep these images hidden from other members by selecting not to display them on your profile.
Make sure the image isn't too big or it won't upload.
Cartoons and celebrity pictures are not allowed.
Make sure the image is in JPG, BMP or GIF format.
You can share these private pictures with other members when sending them a message.
More help for Add / Change / Delete Images Allow others to rate your image
If you have pictures and no way to get them online, go to a place like kinko's blacks etc and they can scan them in and email them to you. "
No where did I read in the above rules it state that I would have my entire album deleted and be blocked from participating any further. I did not upload nudity! Just a picture of a flag. All other pics where owned by me. | |

reason i ask is that i was sorting out ppls pix last night, and came acros several that should not be seen, ie..a guy sitting 100% naked on a sofa, plus various others like Cartoon pix, car/truck pix, all of which i refused.
sorry if any of them were urs (to the ppl in this thread).
So have i made a differance to PoF or have i just passed the deleted pix onto someone else? | |

I am sure he appreciates all the help, I do the same thing when I have time. Also I request for delete pictures of children that do not have an adult in the photo. Same ruling to me as a car/house/pet. | |

Posted: 5/28/2006 9:20:22 AM | | It is MY undederstanding that photos that get flagged as having nudity in them are flagged for rapid response by the BigFish... all other questionable photos that might get a REJECT from you are still there... someone told me it is a best outta 4 rating so just one rejection doesn't remove it. Not sure really... but those doing that rating of new images are appreciated!!! | |

Put up a pic of yourself with your clothes on (Why is that so hard too understand?) . Not a pic of the Mona Lisa , The Sphinx , Martha Stewart ( because you think she is a part of your life ) , Your children (Why would you do that anyway,think about it) , And especially not your pets (i don't care if you have a cat that looks like Morris , as a matter of fact my keyboard cares more than i do and by a landslide ) .

This thread would have some relevance if it was maybe a discussion of the matter of opinion (opinion mind you) of a mod who had someone pee in their Cheerios one day ,and due to bad attitude and reasoning , decent posts get deleted . But like you've been told ,This is not your house and certainly not a democracy . I get stuff deleted all the time . I don't like it but , This is not my house . And i have not been relieved of one dime .

Just a cleavage or butt shot could be a Victoria Secret picture so it is not in the guidelines from my understanding. Just like any other picture that is voted on (rate new pic) it should be deleted according to the rules.
That would get rid of a lot of pictures..lol
I also believe that tattoo pics that don't show the face of the person don't quallify.

You can have fun with it in the forums, just go to their profile, the 'report user' will not show at the bottom of their profile, unless you are signed into your inbox. If it doesn't show go to your mail, sign in, then back back up to their profile, refresh their profile and the 'report user' will show. Then report their picture. As papa stated, he thinks it takes four reports for bigfish to delete it.
I really think that it is a good option so that more women/men can start being more visual with their face, or just keep their picture private. JMHO.. :D
Remember with it needing the 4 votes we all need to be involved. Less T&A (male or female)and more people, with smiles preferably. Funny I don't mind emailing and meeting those without a picture at all, but I don't really have an interest in contacting/replying to someone with pictures of their body without their face. | |

Posted: 6/7/2006 11:55:35 PM | Personally, I think that certain pictures (e.g. only of one's pet) should be permitted but not allowed as a "primary image" - only as "secondary."
However, there's one type of picture that really irks me: Some people have posted ONLY group shots (two or more people) and in many of them, there's no way to identify the person who owns the profile. Sometimes, we're lucky and they say which person he/she is, or the picture has people with different hair color and only one matches the profile description, but often, that's not the case.
There needs to be a "primary picture" which is just of that person and the profile owner is the ONLY PERSON in that photo. It's ok to have a pet WITH the person, or something else, but only one person. I've noted a few people who pose with their children; not good, but as the only adult, that's still acceptable under this one standard (but not acceptable for other reasons). | |

The number of people who apparently failed to read could theoreticaly have agreed to pay their next 10 year's salary for this service...
This is not debatable, Accept the conditions or leave.
I don't agree with everything my government does either, But, like here, the alternative is exodus.
