| | When are we too old for clubbing.....Page 3 of 8 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) | | What passes for a 'club' these days in your average provincial British city are horrible hybrid affairs - large dirty smokey bars with pounding music and an average age of 18.. These aren't the only choice though (thank heavens) if you like dancing.... | |

| When are we too old for clubbing..... Posted: 4/16/2006 10:07:11 PM | an odd dive into the local 80s club is nostalgic and interesting to see how many young student (?) types enjoy the music............ If Im gonna dance Id rather do it in my kitchen (sad) where there's room to really spread out (guess its that 80s thing again). Dancing round handbags and pressing up against the rest of heaving mankind is just a little too depressing, always was. Me and my mates used to try and introduce a little imaginary netball onto the dancefloor but somehow it never "caught" on!
Isn't clubbing more a case of "see and be seen", and hope your lucks gonna be in tonight, rather than a desire to dance. Im with you on that one sunrising (or whatever) decent dance music, loads of space, open air...............
Started salsa last year - had much more fun than ever had at nightclubs but each to his own

So clubs will never die. They have a very important social role, therefore respect your friendly bouncer.

| When are we too old for clubbing..... Posted: 4/17/2006 3:19:58 AM | | I class a club as a one door in place with no windows and a large dancefloor not as many around now the modern thing seems to be a trendy bar that looks like a goldfish bowl but it doesn't seem to have the same atmosphere somehow. I don't like RnB it isn't as good to dance to as some of the stuff in the late 90's such as Sash etc. | |

| When are we too old for clubbing..... Posted: 4/17/2006 3:57:12 AM | I became too old for clubbing the second time I went to a club If I am to pay £20 in a couple of hours I'd rather pay them for a meal, a comedy club, a piano bar, or a jazz bar (when it is cold) and surely on a trip (if not) Not to pay £7 "tax" (God what is the damn logic behind it) just to go in a dark confined smokey smelly 4-waller stepping on feet and getting deafed by ugly music pay £3 for a 50p coke (I think drinks should be free, I already paid £7 for nothing) Get to dance with my arms cuffed behind me to avoid fluid spillage and fights with drunken jealous boyfriends Ask a couple of beauties to dance with and get rejected 100% of the times cause the just came to show wot they got Maybe get my wallet or mobile stolen, and pay £1 for an ugly ignorant biatch to keep my jacket while she acts as a mistress to her fockin slave Get stamped on the hand like I am cattle, or a convict Line up in a queu in the most humiliating way in the cold, just to reach a muscly bouncer who doesn't like my face to tell me tonight is for club members (as if there's any) And if he lets me in he treats me like shite
and, in the end of the day (or the beginning of another) get back home in a taxi that costs a fortune
Naaaaaaaah | |

Not forgetting when u can recall dancing to all the tracks being played vividly!! Seriously I find it boring doing what I did back in my hey day, more fun to try new experiences, that being said up for revivial dances as find the best music gets played always!!

| When are we too old for clubbing..... Posted: 4/17/2006 5:49:25 AM | I know wot taxi drivers face, and who puts the rates... note that my post was not about the drivers it's just I think getting a taxi while you could walk it back, just cause your friend is damn drunk to stand and make it... this is a waste of money (money to go to club, then to drink, then consequently to go by taxi back)
I'd rather get a taxi after shopping for grocery, than to get one and bother the driver to clean my friends' puke
ps: tough job, i know how it is, especialy when u have someone like me who likes to chat with taxi drivers about trivial issues
