Posted: 3/23/2006 8:32:06 AM | | I've never partied that hard. I don't drink at all. I've never touched any drugs. I don't see any reason for that nonsense. I've always felt that maturity and not wanting to do stupid stuff like getting piss drunk and puking all over myself had nothing to do with age. Maturity comes to some at a younger age and they never do that dumb stuff and then there are those that never outgrow it and will still be getting drunk and chasing girl's in their early 20's when they are in their 50's and up. I see know need for that behavior at any age. | |

I try to get out about 2x a month and see a band, go to a comedy club or something... I think it's a shame to see anyone of any age that is making a fool of themselves because they overindulged. But everyone at every age should find something they consider fun and let their hair down!

Posted: 3/23/2006 5:35:31 PM | I believe that there comes a point when you still want to have fun, but you realize that the kind of partying that you did in your 20's really don't fit into your life after 30.
Think about it. When you have a job, house, kids, car payment, credit card payments, life insurance, medical bills etc., does burning the midnight oil and spending every dime really seem worth it?
I do think that people who still party like that after 30 are doing it to satisfy something deeper. Perhaps they feel that they missed out on a part of their lives, maybe they're immature. Whatever the reason, it's not something that can be called right or wrong, just perhaps "out of place":

Posted: 3/24/2006 3:27:10 AM | Depends what you call partying hard.I party harder at 46 than I ever did(at least 2 or 3 all nighters per week) but then I don't drink and don't need much sleep(4 hours a day max) Just get off on natural highs,good company,good music,good times and no hangovers.  | |

You know the bar queens and kings who are now in their 30's and 40's still trying to be 20. Same $hit every weekend. No thanks. Don't get me wrong, I was in college, and played in cover bands and partied in the bars with the best of them. But those days are gone and frankly I don't miss them. | |

I could give myself a fair run for one night... But the ability to rebound has passed... Gee, no wonder I only have more than a couple drinks once or twice a year.
I know as a 20 year old, often times alcohol WAS the event, and we did things around the alcohol... Later on, the event become the deal, not the alcohol.
It's different when you target the socializing over the drinking. Sure, you still can tie one on every now and then, but it just isn't a pursuit of a good drunk anymore. | |

I can only speak on my own stamina here, but I don’t go to pub/clubs as often as I was in my early 20’s but still enjoy the odd night into town..
And geez one night I had been on lucozade at work, then red bull and vodka on the night… gosh no one could sit me down… all I was missing was white gloves and whistle. However the other week, was on mixer drinks, and hang-over from hell didn’t even kick in till late afternoon on the Sunday. As Sunday morning I was still intoxicated. Hopefully in for another good session of liver wipe out this Saturday when I will be celebrating my 36th birthday…. Woooo hooo… lol | |

Posted: 4/17/2007 10:12:09 AM | honestly I wouldnt want to ... that whole time was a complete fog of drugs and drinks. Now I am happily relagated to a drink or two and a bit of grass. This is much better and I tend to get seriously messed up if I do more then that some sort of tolerance reverse. Like how many of you would trip on paper acid now? I know I wouldnt I couldnt handle it anylonger, my body and brain would be upset with me.
So I get a bit toasted but nothing to excess, moderation has become a way for me to still enjoy getting a buzz without paying any heavy price...
Its perfectly natural to want to get high and I doubt I will ever be completely strait-edged, but as for doing it up like I did back in the college days... I will be the first to say screw that, I survived it and learned my lesson. Whats sad to me is to see someone who hasnt whos in their 30's or more.

b a s t a r d got free, it had this look in its eyes like I had done him wrong for the last time and then ingrate flipped me the bird and took off. Haven't seen him since! When I find that little prick, I'm gonna teach him a lesson...I'll go down to the bingo hall and do geritol shooters with the blue hairs!
From what I've seen the 20 year olds are pretty lazy nowdays and can't afford an 8 ball which is like the minimum admission if we are going to be snorting it off a stripper's behind!
Nah, I don't do it hardly at all anymore. Gimme a nice shot of Louie XIII, or a complex scotch. A good wine or 6 good scotches and then you can give me a good whine. Now its just like sex, quality, not quantity. | |

Now, I just go to dance with friends and could care less who else is there or have a couple of drinks with a girlfriend to chat. We don't talk about the guys there anymore and don't stumble out the door anymore. and the big thing? we usually leave by 1230 instead of 230!

I know that when I first turned 30.. I made sure to prove it, lol
But now it has all gotten a little old and stale.. and the recovery process seems to take a whole lot longer..

Posted: 5/1/2007 7:57:41 PM | every 6 months or so i go out and attempt to party like i used to - i can still drink a fair amount before keeling over - but then i just remind myself how bad a hangover is and how its actually NOT cool to tell your friends how many times you got sick lol... ugh. a hangover used to last half a day, now it lasts 2-3 (if not more after a really good partying night lol) and i cant handle that anymore! i have responsibilities and have to be semi-conscious for work, plus ive got kids. for some reason they dont care if i have a headache,,, they still need to be looked after lol. when i was in college, we went out drinking 5 nights a week, now i cant even drink once in 5 weeks lol. and im glad because when i DO go out, i see some of the same people and they truly look like hell, like they have done nothing but drink for the past 15 years - it really shows! that isnt the life for me  | |
