Can you party hard like a 20yr old when you are over 30?
Why would you want to? The odd time I will overindulge, but I've never actually had a headache or been ill since I was 19. I don't care if I get married, it doesn't matter that I have a child. Alcohol and using it as a crutch or abusing it so that I can't remember my actions for that time period is not something I find appealing. Alcohol doesn't make you cool, smoking doesn't make you cool--if you weren't cool sober, alcohol ain't gonna be enough. :-p
I had a teenage cashier at the grocery store make a comment about how I wish that I were back in my teens. I laughed and laughed! I enjoyed my teens, but I enjoyed my 20s and now I'm enjoying my 30s. I have BIG plans to enjoy my 40s as my child will be out of high school, and I will (hopefully) have a little more freedom to pursue some of my own interests. There's no need to go back in the past to have a life I enjoy.

I remember when i turned 30,,i was almost passed out on the Campbell St street station lobby with with my buddy and our ladyfriends we picked up.GOD,,the hangover lasted for nearly 4 days!!!!!
Dude. I love to party. I work hard, and believe me I'm gonna' party just as hard too. I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks about it. Actually, I think I party much better now than when I was in my 20's, I can afford to drink better booze (beer is so passe after 30; and doesn't look good around the waist line either), I take better care of myself, and very rarely I overdo things. Besides, there are lot's of great places to go for over 30 crowds.
Just because your friends think their lives are over because they are married and have kids, that's thier problem not yours. Wait a few years they'll be divorced with kids paryting by your side every weekend. | |

Partying is a state of mind. It doesn't mean you have to get belligerently or disgustingly drunk because you're a kid and don't know any better.
Partying is rocking and being alive and moving.
Personally, I intend to go down rocking, not quietly, not dignified by a blue rinse and a potato mindset. | |

Sure some people may get a little drunk, etc, but as long as they're also having fun and not fighting/arguing.
Back in my "Roaring Twenties" there was many good times, parties, etc. However, there was also many lessons learned! (Some had to be repeated over & again but some of us stubborn types must learn the hard way!) When I think back at some of the stupid things my friends and I did, I'm amazed that I'm still alive today.
Do I miss the "partying" of my younger years? I would say no.
I certainly do not miss that "naive & stupid little girl" I once was. | |

Posted: 1/3/2009 4:32:47 PM | Sure, I can party like a 20 yr old but the thing is... I NEVER partied like a 20 yr old and NOW I still don't see a reason to! I had other fun and socialable things to do in college than to drink and "hook up" with a "party gyrl" (most of them are in their 30's and 40's thinking and acting like their still in college and isn't all that HOT either!) I party every once in a blue moon but there are other things u can do than CLUBBING!!
Pepole who are in their late 30's 40's and 50's partying like a rock star are trying to relive their "glory days" or made mistakes when they were younger and is trying to make up for "time missed"! I had my "fun" in my 20's and left it there! Things I do in my early 30's is totally different when I was in my 20's!
Some "older" people need to grow up and stop trying to compete or "out party" the newer, younger generation! It's their time now!! | |

Then it was "30", then "35" then "40"....
And so on....
Now they just tell me, "You'll probably slow down...."
I haven't slowed down, but I have changed....
The chemically enhanced youth, I left behind, sitting in a corner stoned... became a much more active partier, and dancer, drinker, socialiser.....

When I was 20.......I would go to work then go out with my friends and party till closing. Get up 3 or 4 hours later and go to work and do it allllllllll over again.

Im over 40 and I can still do it
Whether I could do it all the time... dunno... no desire to anyways.
Probably isnt that much different to people who have extremely busy schedules and/or are workaholics and dont slow down.
is it dignified when you are over 30 to run around partying every night?Do you still have a Peter Pan complex?.For me,,ill be 36 in a few weeks and i dont really party like i use to.
I partied hard pretty much from 15-18.
All weekend... every weekend... and whatever days during the week I could fit in
Once I hit legal... didnt much care for it anymore.
No real reason other than I got over it.
Every once in a while I like to go out and let loose... usually last longer than the "kids"
... but things like having a big night and going into work the next day? Nah...
Never really did that as a youngster either... always made sure Id do things so Ive had an entire weekend to chill afterwards
I get just as hyped up from a a big DVD night and a good night's sleep

Although I don't get bladdered like I did in my late teens/early twenties, I tend to have ALOT more fun and need alot less alcohol.
We have a different partying style . The younger people me and my friends hang around with love going out with us, as on our nights out we don't act like mentalists, we just laugh hysterically all night long...
Although, for the last few years at a festival, I have won the 'drink off' | |

We go to the college bars, the downtown lounges, the techno, trance, and hip hop clubs, the country bars, we hit them all and have a blast. However, one thing I've noticed between our party style and many of the younger crowd is that for us, the focus is on having fun and the alcohol is secondary. It often seems that for many of the younger crowd, the alcohol is primary and then if they have some fun, that's a side benefit.
So, in my 20s I did my best Clint Eastwood imitation, standing around with a snarl on my face. Now, I'll ride the mechanical bull, dance on the bar and sing karaoke. It's all good. Every once and a while I wonder if my marriage might have been better if I hadn't been such a boring stick in the mud for so many years. Shrug. | |

If you're partying every night, and then going home at 4am to sleep at your parents house, then no... if you're holding down your responsibilities though, then it's not an issue. Really though, constant partying got old by 22 honestly... I couldn't imagine wanting to go out every night anymore :) | |
