Both Alex and Eddie are getting pretty desparate to get Dave back in to the band for the summer tour.For years both of them shot down reunion rumours of Dave coming back and treated him like a leper and now Eddie is welcoming Dave with open arms?????

I can't believe what I'm reading here !!!!....... some of you experts ought to educate yourselves to the reality of being in Van Halen.... one of the greatest rock/metal bands of all time....... of course there are going to be egos !!!!!!......... David Lee Roth has contributed in a huge way to their success ( and has a huge ego ...why not ?), but at the same time he would have never achieved the level of success that he did without EVH and company...... and EVH re-invented rock guitar !!!!!!!......any musical genius will be slightly ( if not totally ) wierd anyway . David Lee Roth came to Edmonton recently and had some pretty nice stories to tell about his Van Halen days.....he loves those days...... THEY WILL BE BACK !!!!!!!! | |

Melodicrock.com and bravewords.com have already confirmed that they are ironing out the last details of their 2007 reunion tour with David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Wolfgang Van Halen, and Alex Van Halen. Roth said in a newspaper the other day that "We are like Jerry Springer. We don't get along on anything, and sometimes that makes us better performers". So get out your 1984 t-shirts and your spandex pants if they still fit because this is going to be the hottest tour of the year. | |

Posted: 1/6/2007 7:04:44 PM | I would still go see them. I never saw the original band w/ Roth. I've seen them w/ Hagar and unfortunately w/ Cherone. Damn that was such a shitty stage they went through. LOL I'm sure alot of us will dish out the cash to see these guys if this is really true!
Dave's too old to be wearing that spandex crap though. At 50+, I do not need to see that! LOL | |

Posted: 1/12/2007 7:06:32 AM | | I think so. I love the band, even with Sammy. I saw Sammy solo in 1984 ("VOA") and Dave solo in 1988 ("Skyscraper"). I saw both of them together in 2002. Sammy's still got it. Although I love Dave, he looked, danced and was dressed like a flaming disco queen. No comparison with the Dave of the 1980s. Maybe because of all that pot he's smoked over the years. Same with Eddie and the alcohol. And Alex has neck problems. Last I heard, Dave was doing EMS work in New York City. | |

They have this one song called "Voodoo Queen" that I heard once, and it was awesome! Had a great chorus. It was never officially released. There was another song called "Black Star" too that was pretty heavy.
Maybe the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame thing will spur them to do something. | |

the reason being is wolfgang, he's a hollwood brat/rockstars kid and if he wants to get up into rock star status he'll do it the same way his daddy did...
get david lee roth to sell him to the world...
i saw van halen when they first started out, roth was the whole show eddie, mike and alex where on platforms and just played....
roth danced and sang and sold the band, he'd stop the show talk to the audience and sold eddie van halen to the world...

Posted: 1/24/2007 8:37:39 AM | | i worked the concert when van halen came to calgary and THEY SUCKED. sammy hagar's voice is shot, eddy's guitar solos were long and boring, and the dated nature of their music revealed how shallow it all was in the first place. van halen came out of a cultural wasteland (the late 70s early 80s) and so much music has come out since then that they should really not be playing to huge stadiums full of people. | |

I don't think they have enough in the vaults. Remember, the average length of an album when David Lee Roth was in the band was about 32 minutes. They probably used up all their material for the album.
Maybe they were too wasted to write a lot of music. | |
