Pat Robertson on College Professors: you know some of them are killers!

Too tell you the truth, I believe Pat robertson and ultra liberal professors are so far out of touch of reality to the way things are for most Americans. If we could just get a good moderate president who believes in balance, and one who believes in the working class as the back bone of society, I believe our country will live on and provail. Having a society based on religion, in my eyes, is a society built on tyranny. (hence why the for fathers seperated government and religion.) On the Contrary a government based on complete liberal thought is a society ruled by the mob. ( Reason why the fore fathers made checks and balances, and a system where the majority rules but the minorities voice is protected.) In my humble opinion, you cannot have the Minority speak for the majority. (which I believe often does.) Furthermore (sorry for ranting) I believe that the problem does not lie within the governmnet, but the problem resides in ourselves. You cannot legislate Moral value, but you can legislate the protection of these values. In many instances our laws generalize alot of things, and often ( Like abortion) try to legistlate ethics. This is not an issue of law, but rather an issue of morality and ethics. Thus I believe must be taken on a individual basis. This is what I'm saying about legislating protection of moral values. (every instance should be looked at individually.)

One class that I took on was sociology. At a community college. This was the only Jesus Christ bible bashing class I can remember, of where I was traumatized at the age of 18. I dropped that class and replaced with another course. My faith in my God which I call Jesus Christ is not challenged by you. I know why I believe in Him. Lumping yourself with others is a bully tactic. President G. Bush is EDUCATED AND WORHSIPS THE SAME GOD I DO. Even if he and I were the only ones who believe in our faith, that's good enough for me.

Hitler was filled with ghosts of hatred. He hated himself for thinking he had Jewish blood in him. The greatest apostle in the bible was Paul. Before he was converted, he was a zelout for his religion, and murdered many followers of Christ. You may be a future Paul.

Dear Kitten,

Thanks for warning me. I was just getting ready to send my son to Community College. I did not realize that they were hot beds of socialism and Godless heathenism. I guess now I should send him to Berkley. I see you and Dubya worhsips the same God. Is it a different one than everyone else worhsips. I am pretty sure Dubya is as educated as you are.

and the Theology class that i just took last fall at a Catholic College on a University campus is teaching that the Bible is a Male Dominated Book of Lies used to control people for the benefit of the rich.

it ask the question "Is Female to Male as Nature is to Culture?"

in other words our Culture is a Male Lie.

it devalues woman, it devalues nature.

it gives Man Domination over woman and nature.

there is a bottom up revolution in the Catholic Church.

i guess after blessing the murder of millions of people over thousands of years the guilt catches up.

Robertson is spewing this misinformation that has been used for thousands of years to keep us from being free.

ya, and as we see the Muslims use the same form of propaganda.

all the "books" have been written by men (in the man of God so they told us, in the name of domination i say)

of course the course was called "Evil".

wage peace

Kitty: if you truly believe George is an intellectual then I have no alternative
but to conclude that you have nothing but a grade 9 education. Who cares
if he shares the same God or Gods as you do....what does that statement
even mean anyway??? Community college?? LOL!! Traumatized.....explains things.

I always recommend Pat's university, he started, to any young person who wants an education that matters. I wasted my bachelor's degree on a liberal institution where none of the so-called liberal PHd's were good teacher. I don;t even remember their lecture. They were the biggest waste of time, they were like secular humanist. I learned almost nothing.

Then I studied with conservative professors at a Christian-based college who really cared, the opposite of the so-called Berkely-type liberal. I learned more in one term from these men who presented not just the liberal agenda, but more open-minded, more than I learned in a four-year education from a bunch of liberal people.

The moral of the story--George Washington would agree with this, as the first President:
Only an education which has heart--has the Christian spirit--matters, all else is vainglorious, pompous narcicissm.

I have changed my mind. Anderson Cooper is not, after all, the Anti-Christ. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not a Christian but have studied theology and the one thingthat is clear is this man has no idea about the basic ideals of Christianity. I guess he does not understand the term hypocrit.

Smart pants I can see from your spelling and your use and understanding of the english language that a liberal education was indeed wasted on you. Are you aware that many of the founding Fathers were deists, that only 30 % of the population were members of any organized religion at the time of the revolution and that,we were founded not only on the principle of freedom of religion but also freedom from religion? Guess Pat's university forgot to mention that part. You might as well have been home schooled.

As many have said in this thread, part of what education is for is to teach you to think not necessarily what to think. I never had one professor that required that I agree with him only that I understood the basis of his teachings.

I think this is about the teacher not agreeing to a student's insistence on
the teacher ignoring the logical fallacies of Petitio Principi/Circulus in Probando.

Not including false logic as "fact" or "proof" in academia is not
disrespecting others beliefs, it's a necessity for critical thinking.

Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and
skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or
evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation,
experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief
and action. In its exemplary form, it is based on universal intellectual
values that transcend subject matter divisions: clarity, accuracy,
precision, consistency, relevance, sound evidence, good reasons, depth,
breadth, and fairness. It entails the examination of those structures or
elements of thought implicit in all reasoning: purpose, problem, or
question-at-issue, assumptions, concepts, empirical grounding; reasoning
leading to conclusions, implications and consequences, objections from
alternative viewpoints, and frame of reference. Critical thinking - in being
responsive to variable subject matter, issues, and purposes - is
incorporated in a family of interwoven modes of thinking, among them:
scientific thinking, mathematical thinking, historical thinking,
anthropological thinking, economic thinking, moral thinking, and philosophical thinking.

As opposed to:

The premise proves the conclusion proves the premise proves the conclusion proves the premise.......

.....And they are both true because I said so.

Indeed, professors often encourage students to present something that the professor would disagree with. That is the academic process. It doesn't matter as much what you are presenting (as long as you are not fabricating your evidence), it matters how you argue it. So you get marked on your argument, not necessarily your evidence. If you disagree with the professor, as long as your argument is good, you will still get a good mark, and perhaps better than others. This doesn't apply to tests that simply test factual knowledge, of course. This applies more to essays.

I also find it funny how many people refer to "the liberal agenda." There's not just one. There is an enormous mish-mash of people who would be considered liberals (and, believe it or not, many strong liberals are actually quite religious. Our NDP riding association executive (so, Social Democrat, a little bit further left than Liberals, but perhaps can be put under the blanket term of "liberal") consists of about 15 people. I am the only student currently. There are a few teachers (mostly retired, I think, but they taught high school), and some other random professions. But there are at least three ministers, two United and one Quaker. I love how commonly liberals are equated with secularism and atheism. Yes, some of us are certainly atheist, but many very right-wing people I have encountered are also atheist. Many liberals are very religious, and really, from what I have heard of the way Christianity /should/ be taught, anyone who truly believes in Christianity should be left-wing. It is interesting to think that in most religions, and even in most earlier forms of Christianity, the very religious were generally ascetics, and 'denied worldy pleasures' in order to be saved in the afterlife. So they chose poverty. Look at the most religious Christians today. Sure, they do some charity work, but they are also some of the richest people in existence. This goes against basically the core of Aristotlean "City of Man" vs. "City of God" argument. These people are enjoying all the glut and pleasures of the "City of Man" but are claiming to be adhering to the "City of God." Another tangent...

I won't really get into this argument, but I ask to the one poster: Is your god really the same as that of George W. Bush? Is it possible for two different people to believe the same thing? Can your reality really be the same as Bush's? I don't know, I am just asking these questions. As part of my 'liberal' anthropological education, I am taking an theory of anthropology course. It is fun. We are basically questioning everything. I no longer am sure whether or not there is such a thing as culture, for instance. I am no longer sure how anthropologists can learn anything about other people. I am no longer sure how we can write/talk about other people. I have known for a while that different societies really inhabit different worlds (although this was brought into question today), and have very different ideas and worldviews, and are ultimately different in thought, too (also questioned today). And in my entire four years of university, this is the first professor who has ever mentioned anything political in class, when he made a passing comment about "leftist intellectuals like me." I enjoyed that. Of course, I also recognize the tendency for intellectuals to be left-wing, and ejnoy it greatly. Of course, learning to question your existence should not be anything strictly leftist, and that is what a university education should truly be about, as I have previously mentioned.

Kitten, you call GOD..JESUS CHRIST....well maybe I am wrong but, isn't JESUS CHRIST the son of GOD.

As far as bush goes yeah hes educated as in going to school...now as far as good grades a "C" average not sure I would call that terribly intelligent.

And when you can tell me you are right besides bush and , you have heard him pray......that you can talk about who he prays to.

You say lumping yourself with others is a bully tactic...then you go on and talk about the commonality you share with bush....so would that make you a bully?

The answer is actually both./ He is at the same time in one body and spirit fully Man and fully God.

This is an excerpt of the Nicean Creed set down in the 4th Centuary CE

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,

As far as bush goes yeah hes educated as in going to school...now as far as good grades a "C" average not sure I would call that terribly intelligent.

I would call C's form the instatution he went to pretty good this is not some community colleage after all. Alos wether he finished his commitment of not he was smart enough to fly a mach 2 plus fighter with over 100 analog guages and fly it at such a levle he was considered for instructor duty. He was also smart enough to to make millions, get elected to the highest public office and and consistenlty outwit his politcal foes. If he iss tupid what does that say about Ann Richardson, Gore, Kerry and the whole of the democratic party?

No need to toss epithets at the people who were duped into voting for the GWB.

Kinda like saying thier dumber than GW Bush.

In the case of those who voted for him, .......I think it was more a matter of agenda, PR, and fear tactics.

So, more like, par.

Pat Robertson, ........now here is an example of a similar cult of personality, ....and the duping of the cognatively inferior or suseptable to suggestion.

Is it exceptable when he advocates genocide and suffering of those who don't share his faith, or prejudices?

But others who do so are radical religious extremist fundamentalists (other religions, of course)?

Why?

Thanks for validating what I said raver..

So you want to turn this discussion into religious beliefs?

I would call C's form the instatution he went to pretty good this is not some community colleage after all. So you are saying .. a community college education is subpar to a "institute".....he makes millions your right from oil...was he elected yes by false ballots and rigged voting machines...he is a tool of the trilateral commission...and the oil industry.
Outwitting his foes...well yeah it worked well with the port deal....

Now raver as much as your opinion, is as valuable as the next care to addrress the topic of the thread.

Pat Robertson on College Professors: you know some of them are killers!

And Pat has the gall to call someone a killer....when he advocates killing someone....
See that wasn't too arduous..

raver,
don't forget that bush also "out witted" republican candidates as well.

like john mccain, during the south carolina primary. republican voters received calls from pollsters who asked mccain supporters if they would still support mccain if they knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child.

then, a bob jones university professor sent out emails to fellow "south carolinians" telling them that john mccain had fathered children out of wedlock. of course this was enough for the mainstream press to pick up.

of course these pollsters and bob jones university professor richand hand knew full well that mccan and his wife had adopted a bangladeshi girl from a mother theresa orphanage. and they knew full well that in the race conscious south, a lie like this might be what it took to beat a straight talkin war hero.

george bush won the primary.

i guess this is what you mean by out smart. yeah, that's your man.

I attended an ABA college. The professor who was a practicing attorney said to me " You know what is the difference between an A student and a C average student who passes the law state bar exam? Nothing. You both passed. If the President of the United States had a C average in high school and college, guess what? He is STILL TODAY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
