I had to go to chatholic schools, hated all the nuns and priests. They thought I was the anti-christess. | |

Posted: 2/3/2007 10:22:36 PM | I've never had a crush on a nun...since I'm not Catholic I haven't been around very many and most were not really crush-worthy. I think I was watching the Catholic TV network one time when the old lady nun was reciting her Hail Marys and there was a cutie a couple of pews behind her. However, I was on a military deployment at the time so my judgement regarding "cuteness" might have been skewed. Gererally, nuns don't do it for me...but, I have always been partial to Catholic school-girl uniforms ;-)
I don't understand why Catholic priests, first of all, aren't allowed wives...especially considering that this hasn't always been the case. There was a time when they were allowed to marry. Secondly, why do they take "vows" to God anyway? Don't the Scriptures say that a man should make no oath or vow to God or another person? This is because, being human, there will come a time when we will ultimately fail to live up to our oath. We should simply strive to be truthful and honor our word, but not to take an oath. | |

Posted: 3/14/2007 4:55:05 PM | Kinda sorta...I went to an all-male catholic high school, and the music teacher was this young (mid 20s maybe)nun- and this was the earliest 70s, the early days of the nuns discarding their habits- this nun was tiny (nice little figure as I recall) a redhead (complete with the requisite freckles as far as the eye could see) with an attitude to match.....I thought at the age of 13 I thought she was the hottest thing on two legs....got over it quickly enough though by 14....ah, the fickleness of youth
My high school had two cases where the priests left their order to marry other female teachers- one while I was there, and the other two years after I graduated- and oddly enough, they were principal and vice-principal while I was there- I ran into the ex-principal and his wife 20 years later- he remembered me I remember having a n ice 20 minute chat with them...very nice people...so glad it worked out for them | |

Posted: 5/19/2007 3:29:12 PM | | I am pretty sure that in a community just out side my home town, the priest has been in a long term "relationship" with his housekeeper. Its pretty accepted in the community which is pretty shocking for a little catholic town. | |

Posted: 5/20/2007 12:49:32 PM | | crush? dont know about any of that, i do know however that when you say, your a pastor, reverend, minister,, all the sudden you get a flood of ladies heading the opposite diection, or the ones i like to see the most are the ones who say,, i want a christian man,, but when they find out your a reverend,, its like, i have found someone, guess they dont want that christian of a man,, lol,, | |

I thought the nun on "Father Dowling Mysteries" was hot, but she was just an actress so I guess that doesn't count. My friend in 6th grade had a crush on our teacher, she wasn't a nun, but at the end of the school year she announced to the class that she was going to take the vows and enter the convent as a nun. My friend got teased mercilessly that his crush (I'm not sure who told the teacher, but someone had) was the reason she became a nun. | |
