| Childhood toys and memoriezs. Posted: 6/2/2009 10:30:14 AM | I used to have a 'Chatty Cathy'. Pulled a string in her back and she would say about 1/2 dozen different sentences. Thought it was great at the time. If I remember correctly she also walked. I still have my Big Yellow Bear that I got when I was 1 - tis wearing better than me though! | |

we amused ourselves by pulling the legs off daddy longlegs, and tieing up my baby sister in the garage, BAhahaha Ooooh, Bad Company, that just brought back some memories for me! I was the baby sister though not yours obviously !
My personal faves were nicking my brothers' Action Men to date Barbie and Sindy (sorry but Ken just wasn't the sort of guy they went for, Action Man was much more attractive) and making what were probably the first Barbie bath/car/house etc. out of old shoe boxes.
Of course, there were my clackers which I loved dearly, nearly as much as my jacks and, as far as memories go, everytime I see coconut mushrooms in a sweet shop I'm transported back to going to get our Sunday goodies with my Dad.

Posted: 6/2/2009 11:43:48 AM | | I got a game called "Ghost Train" one Christmas when I was about 6 and I never knew how to play it and I was terrified of the pictures and it had a big massive skull on the entrance and a creepy spider and I used to scream at it and it werent in my toy collection long. I preferred the simple things in life like matches

He got the hold of the teddy and done the worst damage ,the stuffings were all over the place,so I ended having dollies instead.

I also had a game in my teens called 'Atmosphere'. It was a board game accomanied by a video. Anyone every played it? You had to play it with the lights off and the Gamekeeper use to insult you. Cracking for sleepovers lol.

| Childhood toys and memoriezs. Posted: 6/11/2009 7:05:15 AM | I had a great wee musical bear called Barnaby, a Koala that you put your nightie into with a wee zip in the back, that I loved, Girls World which I couldn't do anything with because I'm left handed (my mum told me this was why I couldn't do girly things like knitting or hair etc) and Tiny Tears cos she peed like a real baby (the innocence of it), my roller boots that were really really class - we spent hour after hour on them - no bubble butt then I can tell you. Bikes and skateboards - flying down the hill in the middle of the road with no fear, maybe three of us on the one bike. Robbing orchards and sticking the apples into our pants to run away from the dogs. Seems like a lifetime ago when the weather was always good in the Summer and even with the trouble all aroud, we felt safe and secure. Sliding down the hill in the snow on top of a biscuit tin lid. Running in freezing getting a wee heat at the fire and running out again.
Funny that music would take me back to childhood more than anything else - mum used to listen to Neil Sedaka and his songs leave me nostalgic at times.
