Afterwards, when I went to put my regular clothes back on, I discovered the door was locked, and the only teacher with the key was in class at one of the portables, so I had to decided if I wanted to go around without a shirt on, or in a dress. I went shirtless. The I had to borrow a shirt off a girl that looked like a boy's shirt, so technically I was still in drag. | |

I do stupid things alot. Hot fork in the mouth leaving blistering tongue. Mountain-biking in the dark and meeting up with roots, leaving me bleeding from the crotch. Ditching my piercings instead of my ex.
Anyone else ever grab the wrong bottle by mistake when putting in their contacts? The soaking solution...so not for the eyes! | |

Posted: 8/14/2008 8:59:20 PM | I found some gunpowder in my husband's closet after he died. He'd made his own bullets for hunting and I had given away all the brass and other gear, so didn't know what to do with the powder. It was in sealed, metal cans.
Knowing that our local RCMP detachment had a firearms officer, I bundled up the cans in a brown paper bag and drove over. I waited patiently in the reception area until it was my turn. There was a big, hairy biker dude in colours behind me in line.
When it was my turn, I approached the desk and handed the bag to the receptionist, saying "I need to turn in this pile of gunpowder." Of course, as soon as the words were out of my mouth I realized what I'd done....
The biker dude was slowly backing up and the receptionist froze in her tracks, eyes as big as saucers. She said "I'll just go get my supervisor......."
Apparently you can't just hand in gunpowder at the Cop Shop. Who knew?? I ended up filing it as a Lost and Found report! | |

Your story reminded of a an incident my friend had. He is lives in an respectable neighbourhood in Vancouver.
When the government imposed the firearm registration law my buddy decided to relinquish his firearms to the police and called them.
Much to his embarrassment and dismay an entire S.W.A.T., team, dressed in full combat gear and armed with assault rifles showed up at his house to collect a .22 cal rifle and a .410 gauge shotgun. Overkill? | |

Posted: 8/14/2008 9:23:46 PM | Tried skating (first thing in the morning) in the spring on a half frozen Canim Lake with only the bathrobe and skates on. At that time I had my rottie, so I had his leash on and got him to pull me. The little precious decided to go after some ducks and took off me in tow and I didn't let go of the leash in time. Went flying forwards, smacked down on the slushy ice and up went the bathrobe. Gave a cabin full of guests a great view of a full moon. I then had to sit with all 8 of them at breakfast..Now they are my ex in-laws, go figure!!!!
This is just one idiotic thing, I have a whole list! | |

Posted: 8/14/2008 11:06:15 PM | Ahh... to be young and carefree.... and confident that when Highway 40 was still the dirt road from hell you probably weren't going to meet too many people. My friend and I had done a beer run from Grande Prairie, AB to Kamploops, BC - back then you could only buy Kokanee in BC and her mom lived just outside Kamloops. On the way back home we stopped at a creek to chill the beverages. It was a HOT day. Her car had NO AIRCONDITIONING. So we thought we'd just take a dip ourselves and upon redressing decided to slip the button front shirts on but left undone, and hung our bras from the antennae to dry as we drove. At first we couldn't figure out why the two vehicles that had past had been waving so friendly-like... then like out of a movie I looked at her, she looked at me, and we started to laugh our butts off for flashing everyone.
Oh, dumbest might be another time from my youth... We were drinking pretty hard and fooling around, and I thought I'd see if i could hit my head on the ceiling while jumping on one of those round mini-trampolines for jogging on. No, I didn't hit the ceiling, but the last time I landed my knees locked and I felt every vertebrae in my back seemingly crunch together... hey, maybe I'm really supposed to be +6'??? Took months to get over that experiment. | |

I'm smart but sometimes it doesnt show by the things i sometimes say but we all get a good laugh out of it lol. I'm also very gulable and will honestly believe most things people tell me and once my friends catch on they like to tease me so do family mostly my dad lol. | |

Little girl(me) "otay"!!! I was only six but REALLY wanted to kiss THAT boy!
Little boy runs like hell as little girl stands on tippy toes with tongue frozen to pole(snowflakes beginning to fall rapidly)
and all the kids have just run in for the recess end bell!

Yep, I froze my tongue to a metal door of a rec centre once, and didn't even need to be baited with a kiss. That frost on the door frame just looked soooo inviting.
When I was just a young (and gullible) lad of perhaps 5 or 6, I was playing with some neighbourhood kids. The older boy in the group led me to a power pole on the end of the street and showed me a red wooden box attached to the pole. He pointed out the big red button in the box and told me some story about if I pushed the button it would make a noise and strongly encouraged me to push it.
I walked up to the box and pushed. I turned around and was baffled why all the kids had disappeared.
I noticed the town's fire alarm system was sounding. I was still standing there when the Fire Marshall drove up a minute later and asked me if I pushed the button.
My timid "Yes" was followed by a lecture about fire alarm buttons and how false alarms disrupted the town's volunteer fire department, many leaving their regular jobs to respond.
It was a lesson not forgotten. | |

I left a metal citranella candle bucket on a picnic table lit. Went to outdoor Blue Oyster concert. Came back, all campsite burned tent, table, etc. neighbors explained about fire truck. I went to town got new tent and accessories and had a wonderful memorable July 1st. It's not what happens to you that counts it's how you deal with it. | |

THEN there was the time in a very *crowded* downtown Toronto coffeeshop (FUTURES) I slapped onto the table my pack of cigs and what I thought were my matches but i look down and it's not my matches, it's a
EXTRA LARGE, BRIGHT GREEN, CONDOM.
SO! I pick it up and laugh and reach into my pocket, find my matches and slap them on the table, very embarrased...then i look down and IT'S THE CONDOM AGAIN
I almost died.

I get a new place, and think my landlord is just the hottest guy i've ever seen in all my thirty years.
I am moving boxes in while he is still living there, with his permission, while he is at work.

So I rush to the other end of the island (twenty minute drive) and grab a plunger and am just thinking, THANK GOD he'll be at work for another few hours....
and he PHONES ME

i brought my plunger down and fixed the problem but

I was in grade 8, Walmart called to notify me my pictures were ready. I was all excited because they were pictures of the Canucks at their practice. I threw whatever I could find on and headed down!
I'm walking briskly down (at Lougheed this is when they had the two level split of Walmart where London Drugs is now)... And all of a sudden this dude from Radio Shack (hot), yells "excuse me miss! you dropped your underwear!" .. Yeah in the afternoon, while there is a bunch of people there... Mortified.. I turned back.. and saw them. They were erm.. "dirty" .. which made the situation even worse.
I yelled back "no, those aren't mine" and proceeded to go to Walmart.... The stupid asshat wouldn't let it be. Instead he yells back "But I watched them fall out of your pants!".
What the hell is a 13 year old kid to do in that situation? I contemplated leaving them and just running.. Yeah, no. Didn't work out that way. I went... Picked them up all red faced threw them in the garbage... glared at him. And then ran to Walmart.
So, like, um ... yeah. I still cringe when I think about it. | |

Posted: 8/18/2008 11:17:04 AM | At the moment it's buying 2 female rats from a pet store who are completely unsocialized and terrified of me rather than hounding an 'accidental breeder' on CL. It's only been about 3 days since I've had the girls (Teeter and Totter) but they are still scared although, they don't squeal AS MUCH when I pick them up and I can actually pick up Totter who would worm away from me. *sigh* But still. It's going to take a while.
That's the dumbest thing I've done, I think. | |
