As well, lack of information ... the whole idea of the profile , is to tell ppl about yourself, an get them interested --- and the many ask-me-later's are just as bad ... granted i may be slightly curious, but you gotta have somethin to hodl my interest for more than the 2.5 seconds it just took to read the page, since there's minimal info ... sheesh
And at the other extreme, I've come across a few that are overly informative -- leave SOMETHING to mystery , wowzers ... | |

- half naked pics - anyone (show some class...)
- kids in pics - that's NOT right at all
- bad spelling and grammar
- dishonesty
- married people posing as other
- too many emoticons
- bad quality photos
- photos with an ex.
- people say they are not looking for a sexual encounter but, in actual fact, that is their purpose for being here
- novels for profiles, we will IM you to find out everything we need to know

Posted: 3/27/2006 5:05:20 AM | Hi mine is when they donot have a picture here and when you ask for one they say well i have some but you need to add me to your msn to see them ...why is it you can show them on msn but not here just dosent make sence to me....Does it mean your hiding from someone lollollollol or somthing.....And also when you tell the other person you donot wish to go out on a date or a coffee the conversation turns ugly and he begins to call you a sl## and tramp it kills me lollollol...well thats my 2cents worth on that lollollol have a great day....happy fishing..... | |

Posted: 3/27/2006 7:19:57 AM | - posting a pic that really isnt you........I've come across this twice now, what do you think is going to happen when you actually meet the person. Starting off on a lie is just not going to work.
- exaggerating.....i.e. there is a big difference between being 5'10" and 6'1"...be yourself, not what you think the other person wants. A response I got was "women respond to profiles for tall men".
- prefer not to say is another big one....what are you hiding. | |

What is so wrong with having kids in your picture...if you are looking for a person wouldn't you want to know the whole package. I see nothing wrong with kid picutres...I love my son...if you think it's wrong then you should know that having a picture of your children on POF is just as dangerous as having them on a website(even private ones) people still can hack. | |

I am very private/cautious and no one ever meets my teenage daughter unless it is serious. I have a good relationship with my Ex whom supports her totally and I have no need to replace him. Being from the legal background, I have heard too many stories and seen a lot more then ever would be published. You choose to advertise your children by photo. I love kids and don't mind seeing them but, worry about who else may be viewing these. | |

I mean what would be the reason, i don't have a child but i couldn't imagine not admitting something like and not being a proud mother of my child if i had one. It's not denying it's existence flat out but if i was that child and i had a parent that did that i would feel insulted and all for what? a potential romp in the hay? | |

1) Men in a relationship, living with, or married,, looking for activity partner, intimate encounter, I mean what is that?? Hello, I cheat,, are you interested??
2) I smoke,, I hate it when people ask if I'm planning on quitting,, does my profile say I'm planning on it? I'll quit when I'm ready to. Though I am respectful to those who don't,, I go outside.
3) Trying to quit smoking, or occasional smoker,,, what is that? Either you do or you don't.
4) Sunglasses inside too,,,
5) People who say they heard of this sight from a friend,, thought I'd try it,,, didn't we all??
6) And,, the last one for me,, people who say,, "I am a good looking guy!!!" I'll be the judge,, same goes for me,, you be the judge,, everyone has different taste.

.... incorrect age on profile.
...."fairly recent pic" could mean anywhere from 1 to 13 years...
....bios on their profiles... like, i don't care if you won this prize for that... who cares?

When you see people on here who are outright lying on their profile, and you KNOW theyre lying because you know them personally or have been involved with them. *shakes head* Why lie about things like personal appearance and bad habits when any perspective mate is going to tell youre a liar as soon as they meet you???
It just makes me wonder about the people we dont know, who's to say whats true and what isnt. Seeing bullsh1t profiles makes me really question the effectiveness of this kind of mate searching. | |

Posted: 4/2/2006 10:11:24 AM | I have only recently discovered my pet peeve. Profiles that have Occasional for smoking. I am a non-smoker and well what does that mean really?? I dare think it means different things to different people. (milgal67)
I put down "occasionally" for smoking because I allow myself 4 cigarettes a day. 1 one in the morning with my tea, 1 in the afternoon with a coffee, 1 after dinner and 1 before I retire for the night. I write "occasionally" because I am not a chain smoker, nor do I smoke in my home, or when my grandchildren or children are around. I assume when I read this in others profiles that they mean they are not a pack a day smoker, even as a smoker myself I do not want someone who can not put the cigarettes down, it ruins an evening or day of fun. I like to have a smoke, always did and most likely always will. If and when I do decide to quit it will be for me and no one else. Thats my take on "occasion" smokers.
I get annoyed with the "prefer not to say" and the blank, "just ask" profiles. | |

4)Profiles with Nascar pictures
5)Profiles with sport teams jerseys
6)Profiles that use x's and _'s and ( )'s to make pictures. Are we in nursery school?
7)Profiles that actually compare real humans to Ken and Barbie
8)Profiles that have a pic with the person's tongue hanging out
9)Profiles with 2 people in pics. Including mine.
10)Profiles looking for honest people. I dont mention it in mine, guess i am looking for liars and cheaters.
11) Other POF members that steal part of your own personal profile. `Isn't that a copyright infringement?
12)Profiles that ask for a picture with email. Reminds me of the movie Shallow Hal
13)Profiles that state they want a reply email back even if you are not interested.
14)Profiles with pics with wife beater shirts on (sorry, had to say it)
15)Profiles that post to so many useless forums like these.

No pic in profile--what are you hiding from? the husband and his buds?
Boob shots for pics--I do know what they look like, and I know you have them!!
Pics of dogs, cats, horses or whatever--lol, not looking to date your pet!
fuzzy pics--can't see a d@mn thing half the time
the "prefer not to say" option--you're not lying you know. got kids? yea, 8 of em!
Dumba$$ headlines--that is the first thing people see
people that say in their interests "me" or "sex"--no imagination right there folks! lol, possibly self-centered too!
putting nothing but emoticons in the "about me"
Saying your "a few extra pounds" when your not--a few is NOT 100 lbs overweight! more like 20
people saying they respond even to say no thanks--but you don't know cause they never respond!
Really bad spelling--sure, I can see past a few mistakes, but not every second word!
Profiles that say "ask me" or "i'll tell you later"--if you can't take the time to fill it out, really why bother even putting that?
People that say a long profile is a novel--lol, it is like an introduction, treat it as such.
people who don't write a long enough profile--if you are too lazy to fill out a proper profile, why should I believe you'll put any effort into any sort of relationship? I'd like to know a bit more besides "i'm cool and I like having fun"? Well doesn't everybody?
Having "varied interests" in your about me section--isn't that what the interests section is for? to list them?
people that list their kids as an interest--last time I checked being a parent was a job, not a hobby
