Hey enough with the not you pics for one thing. And who do you expect is gonna contact you if all you use a partly facial pic ??

1. People who type in txt. If I can type out a word like 'for' instead of '4', surely you can. OR hEy wHeN yOu TyPe lIkE tHIs, you look like you're 15, and in need of more pink in your wardrobe. Spelling and grammar impress me!
2. Men who message me and say 'nice tits' or something equally crass. Try some tact 'gentlemen', otherwise it makes YOU look bad.
3. The cut and paste messagers that think I won't notice. Duh.
4. Baby talk. If you call me honeybuns, say din din, or I'm your widdle puddingpop, I will snap.
5. Players, cheaters, liars and mind-gamers. If you aren't true to your word and I can't trust you to walk your talk, do us both a favour and hit the back button.
6. People who are needy and overly sensitive. I'm not big on being emotionally blackmailed or having to watch what I say because you're going to take it personally. Yeah I'm such a big meanie! ~sob~
7. When someone can't apologize for being wrong, or they negate it with a 'BUT'. Be an adult and take responsibility for your actions. I do. Oh wait, did I just admit I'm sometimes wrong? DRAT!
8. People who are condescending. Please don't patronize me, it's a-n-n-o-y-i-n-g. If you think you're better than me, or you have an idea of how I should live my life. I'll tell you to go to hell and how fast you can f*cking get there.
9. People who don't bother to read a profile. God that's just utterly retarded. Don't be so lazy.
10. Men who proposition me. It kills me when they think I'll sleep with them without any effort on their part. Hahahaha.
11. Fakes, frauds and X-Files. Some people are just not as they appear. They talk a good talk, but are nothing but an illusion.
12. Men who are separated or the ink hasn't yet dried on the divorce papers. You're not ready to date and thinking you are, only solidifies the fact that you aren't. Duuuuude, face it, you're a dating biohazard.
13. People who message me with one liners... they're also most likely to have f*ck all in their profile. Call me harsh but if you don't put any work into this, why should I? Can ya dig it?
14. People who suck up. I don't need/want a following, I have more respect for someone who tells me what I DON'T want to hear, than filling my head with flattery and touchy feely brown nosing bullshit. Think outside my box. lol
15. People who email me to b*tch about my attitude. Yeah, and you're sooooo much better by pointing it out to me. The 'bitter' irony there makes me laugh.

2. Poor spelling and grammar. I used to be a teacher....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! ! ! !
3. Baseball caps on the ladies!
4. Dishonesty.

2 - women snuggled up with their "girlfriend", not sure if their a friend, a lover. You never see guys licking their friends face ...lol.
3 - boob or butt/thong pic, followed by a profile that says they are not all about sex, and want to be taken seriously. Then stop sending mixed messages. | |

OT: People who put hardly anything in their profile. We're suppose to contact you based on a picture or a few general facts alone? Come on...put some personality into your profile. Tell a joke, give a summary about yourself, explain why your here and what your really looking for...anything! Just don't put in "Hi...just looking" Or "Give me a shout." YAWN! Want people to contact you? Then get more in there...cause looks and basic stats won't do it alone.

Trying to quit but it may take awhile?"
I am an occassional smoker! I can take it or leave it....don't crave them, just want one every now and then...especially when drinking! At home, I have to go outside if I want one..usually that's too much work for me so I go without.

Actually, I don't really have a whole lot of pet peeves about the profiles that I've read through. There are only a few that readily come to mind:
1) Not bothering to actually compose a profile essay of any sort that's useful.
2) Listing activities that seem to be aspirations, rather than things regularly enjoyed.
3) Artificial claims of sincerity tinged with overt romanticism or fantasy.
4) A litany of information that reads like a social butterfly's résumé.
5) Negativity expressed from exasperation or impatience, aimed at men.
6) Smug self-references, normally regarding sexual conquests.
7) A need to write as though they're younger than their chronological age.
8) Photos that don't reflect the personality expressed in their words.
9) Mixed messages in general. | |

Posted: 8/31/2006 6:56:30 PM | For Liam, whose pet peeve is obese people who claim to be average, I'm one woman who admits to being BBW, although I did so reluctantly since there are so many weirdos out there who are into women much bigger than I am and I don't want a guy trying to make me any fatter, thanks just the same. I'm more Delta Burke than Mama Cass, but it's hard to tell that from a head shot.
My pet peeve is one that's been mentioned a few times in this thread - people who can't spell! My son has known since about the 2nd grade that it's "you're" when you mean "you are" and "your" when you mean "belonging to you". Likewise the children live with "their" mother. not "there" mother. And people please, TAKE OFF CAPS LOCK. Not only is it considered yelling, it also makes the profile much harder to read!
I also have to give a big "amen!" to all the people kvetching about the "prefer not to say" and "ask me later". That's not a profile! And I wish people would actually read my profile before sending me messages, but I guess that's for another thread...lol.
Of course there's no substitute for face to face conversation, but I have tried to treat my profile(s) something like a resume - give me an interview and let me convince you to hire me - or something like that, anyway.
Overall, I'd have to say my experiences on POF have been very positive. I've met 3 guys in 3 weeks, and 1 of them is proving to be a really good friend. Still waiting to meet the guy who seems like my best chance at "the real thing" but he's on vacation this week at Wasage Beach with his son - and he didn't take me along! That would be something eh? A week at a cottage as a first date?

3. blurry pictures or ones that you can't see the person's face because they are hiding behind sunglasses or a hat or the subject is too far from the camera.

Posted: 9/1/2006 9:40:26 AM | Short forms for words. I won't generally reply to someone who won't type out the entire word. I'm not a spelling or grammar nazi, but geesh, at least take your time so every third word isn't spelled incorrectly.
That is pretty much the only thing that really rubs me the wrong way. Oh wait, I forgot, people who put celebrity photos in their profiles, you think we don't know it's not you or something? | |

Also "Prefer Not to Say" for Smoking, Do you use drugs, or if you have children. Either you do or you don't. If someone puts down "Prefer not to say" for those questions you can automatically assume that they do. "Just Ask Me" is another one that gets on my nerves. Also overused cliches, like "Head Games" "Not looking for a father/mother for my kids", "Must not be a player". Yeah, no kidding. Nobody wants that, but it seems like too many ads state the same things over and over. Last pet peeve is bad spelling and grammar, plus short forms for words like "B4" and "GR8" and "How U Doin". | |

I'm a spelling-nazi and it drives me crazy to no end to see atrocious spelling and bad grammar. Do people not know the difference between: they're, their, and there?
the one sentence: "if you want to know about me, just ask" in the "about you" portion of the profile. | |
