And we all can tell when someone has viewed your profile, and even if you stay hidden, if we send a message to you, we can tell when you've read it, deleted it, so ya we know you looked at the profile

No photos, they want to see your photo yet they don't post one themselves
And wearing sunglasses indoors....is so FS!

| What are your pet peeves on profiles? Posted: 4/7/2007 6:15:47 PM | I have only recently discovered my pet peeve. Profiles that have Occassionial for smoking. I am a non-smoker and well what does that mean really?? I dare think it means different things to different people.
Ok, I have to defend that one. Your options on the profile are "No" "Often" "Occassionally" and the ever popular "Prefer Not To Say". I smoke, but not often - mostly social, when we go out and have a couple of drinks. So, I don't want to say I smoke often, as in 3 packs a day....if I say "Prefer Not to Say"...well, what's that...that, to me, would obviously mean I smoke, so I chose "Occassionally". If you're looking for an absolute non-smoker, yes, you'd have to pass by the "Occasionally's"! Just my take on it all
Oh....my pet peeve? This guy...... lol

5) Negativity expressed from exasperation or impatience, aimed at men. - Stephen-Ottawa
Oh yeah, this gets me, all of these woman and guys who put so much negativity/attitude relating to who and why someone might be reading their profile and already anticipating their responses. How are we supposed to know that she or he might be receiving harrassing emails from guys or gals, all we see is the Beeatchy Complaining ?
If you don't like what I'm writing Move On, or if you tell me I'm hot looking you get read delete, or if you disagree with me Move On, if you want arm candy Move On, if your sweet , kind and funny Move oops, Stick Around I'm really not an angry person, honest.

"fill this out later"
or they just have a loooong negative rant before any useful info.
The majority of the women's profiles I have seen on here have been very good.

Totally agree. At the very least they should be honest and say "I'm looking for a nice guy who also looks like Brad Pitt or whatever the hottie of month is."
I'm honest in that I'm looking for a nice girl but I do have physical traits I'm looking for too. I'm not looking for Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie but I would like somebody that is close to my age, tries to take care of themself, relatively close location wise and shares some of the same interests.

| What are your pet peeves on profiles? Posted: 4/21/2007 3:54:07 PM | WHT IS THE BIT DEAL ON GRAMMAR OR SPELLING ????? So What . You can see what we are saying . If I don't know the spelling I spell it like it sounds . So What . If you got to pic on spelling or grammar you're not really interested in meeting people . Look beyond that , that is a very minor detail . I feel sorry for the poeple who feel they got to judge for a very simple thing like grammar and spelling . I can just see I am going to get it now .

Posted: 4/26/2007 5:37:41 AM | | @ friendshiprider ..well since we are all on here..we all have a computer...most come with a word processing program that has spell check and grammar check...to not run your profile through that seems to be laziness..if you know you don't spell well or have good grammar skills attempt to massage the profile a bit..your profile is the first thing people see about you...you make an impression. Most of us don't care if there is perfect spelling in emails or IM's...you're doing that on the fly..but you should put some work into your profile..IMO

| What are your pet peeves on profiles? Posted: 4/26/2007 1:21:01 PM | we're not posting pet pictures for the benefit of anyone that has an issue with even seeing them. i won't speak for all animal lovers but i have zero interest in meeting women that don't love dogs.
besides, you should appreciate the fact that the decision to post any picture offers a glimpse into that person's character. they're doing you a favour.
just like the profiles and emails of illiterates, gangsta wannabes and text jargon using members. i'm glad for the heads up when i come across someone who can't distinguish your/you're, their/they're/there, compliment/complement and so on.

| What are your pet peeves on profiles? Posted: 5/1/2007 7:51:40 AM | | While I'm a little uncertain as to whether or not this qualifies as a 'pet peeve', (whether looking for friendship or a life-long commitment), I do wonder how or why anyone who's capable of posting, limits themselves to a summary so brief that it leaves the reader without any real insight as to who they are. It concerns me - this sense that we put more time and effort into buying a car, a house or even something as insignificant as a pair of jeans then we do people. I can stand, patiently waiting (not really...I actually want to kill them) with any number of girlfriends who take an hour if not more trying to decide on these pants or those pants? (and my male friends do the same), complaining the whole time about the 'quality' of people they know (friends, dates, etc), when the foundation of their involvements began with 100 words or less. It takes me 4 minutes to read the longest of 'profiles' (mine included), and frankly...if that is TOO long for anyone (again...myself included), when it comes to deciding whether or not I'd be interested in sharing segments of my life with another human being, it's definitely time for me to re-evaluate my needs. Right or wrong...you'll never find me standing in that change room, wondering why all my friends are 'duds'. | |

| What are your pet peeves on profiles? Posted: 5/2/2007 6:11:21 AM | Folks that have a problem with "favourites".
I think most of us can say we are pretty busy, so to think that you can look at a profile, think immediately of that fantastically witty story complete with bio, match it up completely with the profile you have just finished reading,
are sadly mistaken. Look at favourites as a memory tool, (at least for me) and allow some of us the time to get back to you. It's not easy, it takes a bit of work, hopefully it will get done with a match at the end. Happy endings!!

| What are your pet peeves on profiles? Posted: 5/2/2007 12:05:01 PM | | Hmmmm....pet peeves.....pics taken in front of cars that aren't their cars.....only having group photos, I mean, which is you?...saying no head games, etc. duh, is anyone wanting those?....people asking for a specific weight, saw one recently that stated within 12 pounds or something...too funny; do you weigh them before the date? I hope it is not after a dinner....or like 4 or 5 times throughout the date...do you carry a scale with you? lol...saying you are a private person or have a high profile career so can't post a pic or tell you anything...just want to hang out or be friends and they ask my bra size or something equally annoying...height exagerrations, people who chat with me on IM asking me questions that I have already stated in my profile! | |

| What are your pet peeves on profiles? Posted: 5/4/2007 10:41:19 AM | ~No information in the profile at all...then when they email you, they say, "So, what would you like to know?" ~Prefer Not to Say for Marital Status: Okay, that's a no-brainer! ~Guys giving the finger or trying to look angry in their pics. Sorry, I like happy people ~Girls posing with their dildos: Cum on, must you?? ~I have a friend who's chatting with somebody off here, who when they log out changes their registration info...specifically locale. This friend has appeared locally in almost every state and a few of the provinces here in Canada! Also has marital status set to Prefer not to say!! Hello?? What exactly are you trying to hide or who are you trying to hide from? I'm not sticking around to find out! | |
