Your age restriction...pretty restrictive, but if that's the range you want for friends, then that's fine.
Once again, this is all about organizing a bunch of scrambled eggs into something that looks more like a meal, and less like...I don't even know where I'm going with this.
Organize it into something that doesn't look like a random asssortment of topics that you just pulled out of a hat. Does that make sense?
First Date: Think of SOMETHING! A long walk off a short pier in your undies. Feeding penguins at the local iceflow. Chasing polar bears. Something, so that the first date doesn't end up in a frustrating monologue of, "Whaddayouwannado?"..."Dunno, whaddayouwannado?"..."Uh..."
What kind of job do you look for?
What do you do with your friends when you go out?
Where do you go to laugh?
Your profile is not just a resume; It's the first half of the first conversation you have with someone...they just haven't responded yet. (Once again, I bold this for future reference.)
Read the OP, take what you like from this post and the OP, and experiment with it.

First; I would shorten your header to "Careful what you wish for..." it's more alluring.
For your age category; you're average, not a few extra pounds. (IF that sounds mean, it's really not meant to...honest, you look fine!)
The close-up without the parrot would be my choice for a main pic. It's very attractive, and will not get you so many emailos from guys with foot fetishes...unless you like foot fetishes, in which case, that's ok.
How long have you been separated, and is it final?
Add some closure to this, because many guys will not want what they perceive as baggage.
"Something fun" is not an interest, lol. "Bowling" is an interest..."Cribbage" is an interest..."Something fun" is a lie you tell your friends at the water cooler when they ask what you did last night, then you walk away with a goofy grin.

So artificial and contrived or not; it's what you're showing people so they have some sort of idea what kind of person you're like. Beef it up with what you like in a man, aside from passion.

Your opening statement sounds almost angry. I'd tone it down a touch, perhaps. Try something a little easier to read, so people will keep reading.
READ below if you have the time.......... Assume the sale. Don't offer an easy out like this...if someone is looking at your pics, then they'll look at your main profile, and if the opening line catches their attention; they'll read further.

Your first date sounds like you don't care. That's not very positive, try to insert something that you enjoy doing, that will be cheap...uh, affordable, and not too complicated, but still fun.

I had to do a double take when I read the first line, lol...I thought it said Mentally Ill Cancer Patients. yeah...fix that.
"Brusk" is a ten dollar word that you're using to ward off fifty-cent players. I would suggest changing it to "Blunt" or "Direct"...and don't apologize for it.
The "About Me" section is good the way it is, with the exception of a bit of syntax adjustment, and what I said before as well.
First Date...nice. Direct and to the point. I'd leave it.
For Hanging Out, this is a very good profile already. It's also very good for Short-Term and Dating. | |
