While you can't totally blame someone else for a low self esteem other people DO have an affect on how we think about ourselves not many people are totally immune to that. Riff is right that IS very basic psychology. We have to deal with other people's rude insults one way or the other. WIth someone who already has a low self esteem that's bound to be more damaging than to one who doesn't. DId you read what I wrote? If you have that thick of a skin then you don't give a hoot what people say about you, I doubt that's true. I'll bet I have a much thicker skin than you do!!

I always appreciate honesty even when it doesn't rub me the right way. I get so numb continually reading the PC tripe that lots of men post on this site telling women what they think they want to hear in order to score pints with them. Lots of these men I'm sure don't believe what they are saying but have given up on ever developing a relationship with a woman they really find attractive and settle for the ones that they are trying to smooth talk. | |
