I grew up in the 80's and we had cheezy fashion statements with the big hair and leg warmers just like the 90's children had their heroin-addict goth lookers and those big, stupid Dr. Suess hats. It'll all come back sooner or later. Do what you want with it. | |

I remember those hats. But, even today some people will adopt anything the media tells them to. Like you said; it seems that with every passing decade we look back and laugh at ourselves. Why is that? Lets see....bell bottoms, long hair, mullets, Dr Suess hats, parachute pants, jordache jeans, short hair, bleached hair, shaved heads, neon green hoop ear rings....the fashion industry wants to start a clean slate and ridicule the passing fads so they can quickly sell you the new stuff. I'd rather wear good old dependable jeans and my Canuck t-shirt than wear clothes and looks that really are uncomfortable and frankly, not really me.
What's cheesey is seeing people trying to be trendy. | |

Posted: 3/29/2006 12:13:41 AM | There were some great things in the 80s. On a "good" (HAHA) hair day, I was two to three inches taller. I could borrow my boyfriend's makeup. And there was something erotic about my hair being short/spiked and his down to his a**! Must love the hair bands. Remember all the one-hit-wonders, oh, the good old days. But, I must agree, for another few years, refraining from the mullet is a must! Don't worry, it'll surface again in the next few years.  | |

My hair is the result of being allergic to hair spray and being too indecisive to know how to get it "done". LOL It just keeps growing while I try to make up my mind what to do with it. Well, that and the last time I cut it all off (8th grade) I was sick all year. I think my mom keeps my widdle head warm.
LOL High maintenance? Try no maintenance, don't even bother with a blow dryer. | |

There's a lot more important things than how a person wears their hair - It's what's inside their head
I don't care for short hair on a woman but would never turn 1 away for it but a lot of people do - I have long hair - A lot of women don't go for it but I am happy with me and I have met some women who do like it - all I am saying is It's too bad that people look at something so changable as hair, It's Silly | |

Exactly it is very sily and like I said many times before , those people that judge others over this sort of stuff will not and don't have a satisfying love life it seems. Thats whay the divorce rate is so high, becuase when you have people who are shallow minded and really don't know what they want, that creates problems and they keep going back and firth like aa dog chasing it's own tail never able to catch it.
Thats also a the definition of insanity when you keep trying something that doesn't work, as we see evidently that goes on all over.

I can't figure it out either, why some people choose to cling to those styles, but to each hir own I say. When I first came to the US from Germany in 1981 I could not believe what I saw! ALL females 15 and over wore their hair in the same FF style. As for tight jeans on men: Bring 'em back! Please! I'm so sick of guys wearing extremely loose, baggy pants. It's so not sexy!

In 1983 my mother had my hair cut so that it could feather properly on the sides...it was a hot look back then. In 1985 I got my first set of leg warmers and my first pair of spandex with the skirt attached(hot pink and hot green with black stripes)....
Just wait til the 90's rolled up jeans with wool socks and the plaid lumberjack shirts come back in... | |

Man, I miss the mullet...
My hair is so heavy that when I grow the top out, it lies flat, falls in my face and makes me look like a combination of a drowned rat and Moe from the Three Stooges.... product makes my skin go berzerk... with a mullet, I could actually grow out my hair...
Of course, I guess the Natalie Portman buzz cut is always an option... | |
