That could be a long time. So I decided hey why not, and I went solo...was an awesome trip and I sure will do it again.
What are you supposed to do then if no one wants to travel to the place you want to travel to? Not bother going on a trip then? | |

Even the bars and clubs mostly it was couples there. I did feel very uncomfortable at first in the bars solo, then the next night I was alot more loosened up. | |

In 1990 I flew from New Zealand to Vancouver on my own for the first time, didn't know anyone, I thoughly enjoyed it, I moved to Canada 11 years ago.
You will do ok, make sure you take a supply of condoms for emergencies, don't want to be unprepared lol.

Posted: 5/16/2006 2:36:38 PM | I've been to southern Africa twice on my own and the third trip with my 14 yr old son. I decided that if I didn't know anybody that wanted to go then I'd damn well go by myself.
First time was scary...I prearranged everything so was never in fear of being in the middle of nowhere alone. I joined a safari in Botswana, there were other singles there, joined a canoe trip in Zambia, again joined other singles and then visited a few other places on my own. On the second trip I again hooked up with a guided tour. I was fortunate to meet a really nice couple from Johannesburg on my first trip and so on the second and third trips spent some time with them. They were wonderful hosts.
Don't ever not go on a trip just because you can't find someone to go with. I guarantee that if you stay in hostels you will easily make new friends to hang out with at your destination. | |

You don't have to wait on people, argue what show to , what bar or restaurant to go to etc. Just be yourself you'll meet enough intresting people and some lasting friendships. No one in Vegas pays attention so you wouldn't feel out of place just go for it and have fun. | |

Posted: 5/23/2006 8:28:03 PM | I went to Vegas solo for my 25th b-day. I had lost a family member a few months before, and we had always said we would go to Vegas some day together and never did. So I planned a trip with my friends, but the dates were never right, or no one else could afford it, etc., etc., et.c, so I took a huge leap and went by myself and ended up having a blast!!! (well... except for the fire alarm going off and running out into the hall in my pj's..... mental note-pack a housecoat next time! I never want to see that many old men in their underwear again!!!) Life's too short to wait around for others. Since Vegas, I've gone to Cuba and Mexico and have had a great time on each vacation. I've repelled down a cliff, been on a zip line across a crocodile infested river, and climbed down into an underground cave. And I have the pics to prove it!!! (Now, if only I can find the instruction book for my camera so I can download them...)

It's an amazing place and the people are fantastic
Currently in Norway
Then onto UK
I have friends all over though and so am not stuck in the hotel alone routine.
It is SO GOOD to be seeing old friends!
but then again
That's the reason I took this trip
To see friends
I make the WORST tourist!
I have to have a reason for being somewhere
And so regardless of itineraries
