| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 5/27/2008 3:20:10 AM | | what we are watching right now is a team of men playing with a team of boys.........detroit is keeping them to the outside and they can not beat Detroit until they decide they want to pay the price. Malone has a broken nose, not one other player has a mark on his face.......no one is winning then stanley cup without paying the physical price.........remember images of Anaheim last year ...black eyes, cut lips, bruised faces.........Ottawa didn't have those marks...........you know the rest........Pittsburg ........................grab your balls and play hockey...every goal doesn't have to be on Sportscenter........get a three foot ugly goal ........one like Gary Roberts is famous for........then it'll start offensively........the torch isn't quite passed just yet.....this may go 4 straight | |

| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 5/28/2008 3:54:46 PM | Well I would say this is the night for the Pens!! DO OR DIE!!! they need the next two games or it's to the golf course, my fingers are crossed, but I really believe they are totally intiminated by the Wings, Partly due to the Media Hype!!
Go Pens Go PLEASE!!!!! | |
|
| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 5/29/2008 4:37:49 AM | | well well, Therrien used the last change and got his stars away from Detroits stars.....good on him. Pittsburg looked like they belonged on the same ice last night . If they steal the next game anything can happen.....good win boys | |
|
| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/1/2008 7:01:26 AM | I just hate it when the coach decides to show his best player who is the boss!!!
Guess our chances are getting slim, back to Detroit could be the end.
We need to see a lot more of the line Hossa, Roberts and Crosby, get some grit out there with some play makers... where are the Pens tough guys?????

| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/3/2008 10:38:09 AM | Pens won this game because Fleury was hot and the ref decided it was time to end the game. (the penalty)
I think teams like Pittsburgh who acquire rental players right before the playoffs lower the integrity of hockey. I just love to see them crash and burn. (just like the oilers did a few years back with Pronger as a rental)
Really...if the Pens had not "rented" Hossa, they would have been toast a lot sooner.
The Wings are going to win the cup. The pens are just delaying the inevitable.
The sad thing is they will lose half their team because of the cap in the next few years.
|
| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/3/2008 6:15:56 PM | Get Real!!!! the deadline trade does what it is suppose to do and is there for all teams to avail of. WE all know the Pens are hanging on by the skin of their teeth, but don't say the ref gave them the game, it was a good penalty call, lets give them credit they are not giving up, not letting their fans down, and I don't think any one Pens fan is making excuses,.... accept the loss, be a Man and if you need a tissue let me know!!!!
GO PENS GO!!!! | |

| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/3/2008 8:56:53 PM | I see nothing wrong with picking up rental players. If you're a contender you are going to do it. A lot of teams do it. I must say though, that Fleury is going to have to win the next 2 games like he did the last game. Then you could put the tag that everyone wanted to put on Price at the beginning of the playoffs on him. There's lots of playoff experience being gained here. Staal - 19 Crosby - 20 Malkin - 21
There is a lot of future there!

| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/4/2008 8:56:39 AM | | Hossa is what got the Penguins shere they are? A more assinine quote I have never heard. I won't even respond to that. As far as rental players go, this is the NHL the board of governors wanted in place. A couple of things happened for Hossa to end up in Pittsburg, first of all Atlanta had to realize that this wasn't the person they wanted to build their team around, like Ottawa realized years ago, secondly Pittsburg had to have or create enough cap space to accomodate a player with Hossa's salary. It's a perfect fit for everyone, Hossa, Pittsburg and Atlanta. Hossa will get to go through it all again this summer because the Pens probably will not sign an offer sheet for this player. Hossa will end up in Montreal where the fans will love him for what he does in the regular season, and he will now have an extended Stanley Cup run under his belt which will make him more attractive on the free agent market. Maple you hit it on the head, with the young age of these kids, and the experience they are gaining this year, they will dominate the regular season next year and they will be the team to beat come playoff time. | |

| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/4/2008 8:00:43 PM | Congrats to the Wings.
Really, no surprise. The Pens will get theirs.
Interesting comment Osgood made after the game about Zetterberg and Datsyuk. Mentioning how they were molded by Steve Yzerman. A truer comment has not been made!
|
| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/5/2008 2:33:57 AM | My congrats also to the wings, and the Pens should hold their head up high, Detroit were the favorites and were expected to walk away with it, and we all knew it was just a matter of time, The pens should be proud nobody expected it to go this far and came pretty close to being tied within seconds of the buzzer!!!! The experience will benifit all these young players wheter they remain a Pen or move on..... great entertainment from both teams!!! | |
|
| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/5/2008 3:40:24 AM | | Congratulations Detroit........class all the way....a hard team to hate.......Sid will remember the feeling of sitting in that stall crying for a long long time......the only thing that will take that pain away is lifting that Cup over his head.......... | |
|
| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/5/2008 7:52:04 AM | Any Pens fans want some tissues??? hahahahaha
If they didn't win this year, they won't for a long time. Just like Ottawa last year.
This was their chance. Too bad they had to play against a Juggernaut.
Way To Go Wings!!!!!!!!!!
|
| Playoffs (NHL) Posted: 6/6/2008 3:35:08 AM | | Mario will get Sid the supporting cast he requires to get there. Next year they will win the cup. Laraque has to go, and as well as he played Roberts has to go........Shane Doan would be a good fit there, or Brendan Morrow, that type of hard nosed player that brings some secondary scoring and toughness..........hard to find but they're out there | |
