The OP's depressing and generally patently inaccurate statements about men over 60 effectively illustrate the attitude I encounter in many older women. It is no wonder many 60+ men who can find, get and keep them prefer the company of younger women. The last two I dated were 33 and 39 and great joys in every way. As Willie Nelson once said "You are as young as the women you feel."
Well from your profile, it seems that you have not even had contact with people your age but 25 to 35 years younger. To each their own!

Though I guess some of us women are just as guilty in our written expectations.

Whilst we might welcome being single for a while after years of being part of a couple we will always eventually want to be a couple again, it's inevitably, it's written into us biologically and mentally. Being a couple means compromise and that the problem in this `want everything consumer age' is that we want the perfect partner, but hey they don't exist !!!!!!!!! | |

I know men 5-7 years younger than myself that act as tho they have one foot in the grave! And conversly, I know men that are older than me that live their lives as tho they will go on forever.
I was married for 33 years, since the divorce there has been many moments of wondering why I ever let it last as long as I did, but life is what we try to make of it, but a happy life takes two or more people to be involved.
I am 63, I act like a person my age should, when I have to But I can also be like the 20, 30, 40 or 50 year old when I want to. Fun is key, smiling and dancing are important, family is critically important, and there is a three letter word that has been used that is never too far from a healthy mind. In fact, if one to research the art and act of sex, they would discover that those in our age bracket that partake on a regular basis, are far more healthy than those that do not!!
The age range of female people I associate with, outside of family, is 19 to 62. My sexual prefence is to have sex when it is possible, but I am noat a 'tom cat' or a player so choose wisely, as I hope any partner I have will also have done this.
Other things come into play as well, attitude, health, desire to be active, the financial ability to do as you would like, that's a sore spot for me, as I am on the low end of the pole now. But I do what I can, when I can and with whom will let me!! | |

All are essential though not necessarily in that order.
Live your life on the premise that everything is permissable which does no harm to others and that true friendship is above value.
The body may be saggy and we smell of pee but the mind remains the same one we had at 21.Growing older does'nt mean you have to give up.
The only thing to fear in this life is to die alone and unloved.So get out there and avoid it. | |

Wow! What an attitude. . . . Hope you have a little chocolate to take some of that bitterness away. Seems to me that you’re attitude precludes many of the best things life has to offer. Perhaps you might want to try some of those “long walks” for a while. They help clear the mind as well as strengthen the body.
Nice summary of a someone who must be a professional lecturer and fingerwagger. I've posted some outrageous crap, but nothing so bitterly vile. If it were me posting, a half dozen whiners from the League of The Perpetually Offended would have demanded its removal. Better to leave it be as an example of what happens if you continue to drink the koolaid. | |
