| Would any of you Ladies date fat guys?
Posted: 2/25/2005 10:45:44 PM | I wouldn't have a problem befriending an overweight man (or, woman, for that matter) but I can't see me dating someone that big. When I say big, I mean a 5'10" man, who weighs more than 280 lbs., or something. I don't mind "thick" guys. but, as far as big goes...I’ve read all the posts on here, and I’m sorry if I offend any "big" people, however, I’m too active of a person to date someone very big. He simply wouldn't be able to keep up!
Furthermore, I feel that if someone lets him/herself get THAT big, they're lacking self-respect. (This does not include any medical problems that may cause the weight problem. And, yes. I WOULD take the time to find out.) It’s YOUR body, and you only get one in your lifetime. You should take pride in it. Maybe I’m vain, but I think it has more to do with both my parents letting themselves become overweight, and dealing with health problems caused by it! I love my parents and want them around as long as I can have them...so I’m constantly on their case to lose weight. It has nothing to do with the way they look, just their health.
I’m no beauty queen, and I could stand to lose my J-Lo butt, and I don't expect a guy I date to have a ripped body and six-pack. I simply expect him to maintain a healthy weight.
I also take into consideration that I love to cook (and people love my cooking), and when you start dating someone, going out for dinner/drinks seems to be what couples do, so there's always SOME weight gain initially (like the "freshman 15") and I’m ok with that... but after a while, both parties need to put things in check! | |

I'm a fat dude and yet I have a very intelligent and sexy woman who wants to date me.
Just because a person, guy or girl is fat/big/husky/whateverthehell doesn't mean we are automatically unlovable or even desirable. I can always lose weight, but can a person who is a jerk, spontaneously become a non-jerk? Or someone who has zero personality all of a sudden gain some?
The fact is being pretty/ripped/handsome gets you more dates by default, but how many empty relatively meaningless relationships emerge from such people?
Many people (not everyone) out there seem to be so rigid in their conceptions of people that if they do find happiness, it takes them longer than it should. Many people are so consumed with what other people think or what other people have told them is attractive and good that their sense of reality is twisted around into something convoluted.
We all have things we like and don't like, that is not being shallow, that is just being who you are. But, you have to ask yourselves, where is this coming from? Is this because I think that way normally? Or is it because I am being fed a line of BS a mile long from outside sources?
Think about it, we are programmed from day one on, by our parents, teachers, friends, other people around us, the media, and so on. We never really have a chance to form much of our opinions on our own, they are forced down our throats virtually right away.

Sooooo........I asked a friend to do the same and he sent out 11. Ouch ladies..... seven of you did not answer but at least no rude ones either. The rest...he is having a ball talking to you.
I pulled up your profile....... has a slight defensive touch to it and comes off being a bit harsh. Please!!! That might just be me reading into it because of the message that prompted me to put in my two cents. The reason why I would not say Hi if I came upon it accidentally is.......height (I'm barely 5'1":)) and age. You's too young for me.
As for the crap........I am so sorry you feel that way. Most of the people I have talked to on here and met in the last few weeks in person.... actually match the person who talks on here! That is soooooo rare on these sites. My daughter does and will likely continue to date heavier guys. She simply likes the way they treat her.
I will when they ask me but ......men seem to have either gotten a lot more shy or... are using the equal time factor to make women ask and to let them out from being uncomfortable!! :):) Ok slam me for that one if you like but ..I stand by it! :)
So Cougar? Not a load of crap, just because you have not experienced these fun people yet. Please....take a bit of the edge off and I think you will see her smiling across the room at you!

Posted: 3/1/2005 7:26:06 AM | ok i see alot of people posting here so i will add my 2cent worth yet again Iam as active as i can be with a back injury but the way i see it if you have a person in your life that makes you happy and takes care of you mentaly then it doesnt matter How big they are i agree that looks and a nice body does sound good My ex was 120 5-11 and i was 170 5-10 it seems after i got comfy in the relationship and she got pregnant with my baby girl i gained weight so anyway all iam saying if you find someone who can make you laugh and smile all the time and you find you could be happy look at the inside cause ya know what you can change the outside so go find someone and be happy
