Now there's a good post, the players are the ones with that have looks and money too waste and have the gift of gab. They get most of the women by playing their game. The good, sincere and lovable guys normally don't get a first chance let alone a second chance. I mean no disrespect too the ladies that do have a heart.  | |

I get confused on what is considered "older" in men. I'm 46. Most people guess me in my older 30's when they meet me, and I'm more active than most 20 year old "boys" who want to be men.
I'm looking for someone that wants children and I've been told by some that all I'm looking for is a trophy bride which is the farthest thing from the truth. If you are over 35, and look for a woman under 30, then you are treated as a dirty old man.

And your son needs to see the once bitten does mean bitter and stand offish should last a lifetime. As you said Its better to have loved and lost than to have never loved. Posted: 4/21/2008 11:39:03 PM | what is an older man to some it is 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and so on me in in my 40s and sitting at home raisng my children and have been forthe last 11 or 12 years and loving it thier other perfered things of an addictive nature to her own children her loss my gain but when a single guy is rasing children the women run unless they need a baysitter so they can go out and have fun. Now that mine are older and not needing me as much I guess it is my turn , but yet I stay at home and tinker with cars or go ridding the Harley by myself ar camping and hen the kids decide to come and spend time with me at the lake instead of running with their frinds that is great. I guss after the years I have gotten gun shy, being used for a place to stay "till somethig better came by" or whatever. it has gotten to the poit I enjoy being by myself and dont have to have someone around to be happy or even worse someone around to make me misserable. I dont play games yet I dont rush into things these days either, I aint old and yet I aint young Im 44 now but enjoy life and it is to short to be missarble I dont go looking for women in thir 20s and such to much drama and and I would not want to be with someone young enuff to be my daughter either but somewhere within 15 years either way of my age would be fine. But I aint lookin but if it happens then it happens good luck to all and till you can be happy with yourself you won't be happy with somebody Have a great day oh yea it is spring time so its off to the lake gone fishin  | |

Posted: 4/24/2008 2:26:00 PM | Interesting thread, I have so many opinions that I don't know where to start. For starters, I'm currently 43 years old, and most friends tell me I look and act much younger. Also, I too am and older man that has NO children, and some of us like to be with a lady thats young enough to still want to have children.
But, then there is that chemistry thing too. I'm simply not attracted to women my age or older than me. I have tried, and dated a few ladies my own age and the chemistry was never there. I have discovered that some ladies in their early 30s seem a much better match for me.
I know there are some young women that truly prefer older guys. But I'm always on guard for the women that seek an older guy in hopes he has a high paying career. Sure, I don't blame anybody for wanting to date somebody with lots of cash, but so far I have yet to get rich, so that leaves me out of that game. 
Also, I must agree with all the fellows that mentioned the pain of getting hurt. Man, my last relationship breakup felt like it ripped my guts out! I'm sure in no hurry to repeat that mistake again. So many of us are very cautious at this stage of our life.
One last thing: Where I live at it is extremely common to see much older guys with younger ladies. I have seen my share of couples in which the guy was over 20 years older than the woman! It's really common around here.
Nevertheless the older singles are out here. Were just a little more cautious about starting communications with women that may lead us down another path of hurt.
Having said all of that........
