Motorcycles Posted: 6/20/2006 8 14 PM ... well I can think of one feeling that rivals riding and when you fall off it doesn't hurt as much . [/guote] A convertible? A jet ski? A fast boat? ROTFL! There's a saying: The hardest part of horseback riding is the ground. Yeah. I'm not going anywhere near motorcycles. Never. | |

| Motorcycles Posted: 7/11/2008 5:42:40 PM | I have read this thread several times now and held off posting. June 20th comming back from a vacation in Tennessee I dumped my bike comming off RT 70. Had just started to rain and I thought I would just sit it out, have a cup of coffee. Found some BLACK ICE and away we went almost pulled it out. Bike is totaled I'm beat up sprained the whole foot and lots of road rash..... no more riding this year. Next year new bike and it's all good. The reason I'm posting is because the only time I have ridden a horse I fell off and broke my arm in 2 places,,,,,,,,I will not go near horses again, never. While in the ER talking with the staff they told me they had 3 other bike accident victims (nothing really serious ) and 2 auto accident that had been fatal. Use these facts however you want. I thank God for being here today. Been riding for 38 yrs now and this is my second. First one was just me being dumb ( I can do anything ) I will ride until........... All you riders God bless be safe.... All you cage drivers God bless and keep you alert for the riders...
Dave.... I'm out | |

| Motorcycles Posted: 7/11/2008 6:18:26 PM | awww dave, i'm sorry to hear about your accident and i'm sorry that you got beaten up by a 4 legged horse even more....but you can't let that horse beat you! i was thrown from a horse and had my feet stepped on by my own horse when i was younger and still want to ride when i'm able to (at least not until i'm able to get a horse that kneels down), thrown from a quad (fractured my tail bone the 1st time) and still love riding. i'm a girl and i'm not letting any animal beat me let alone machine.....you should do the same....get back on that horse and show him who's boss! | |

| Motorcycles Posted: 8/7/2008 6:22:01 AM | Ok, so when are we going to have the official Western PA POF motorcycle ride? LOL Even if we don't have an official ride, I am always up for a ride on my full dresser Yamaha. I have never met anyone who went for a ride with me and wasn't hooked on motorcycle riding. There are only a few things in life more fun than riding a bike and we can all guess what a few of them are for sure. | |

| Motorcycles Posted: 8/13/2008 8:00:24 AM | Hi there, Riding is very dangerous, dont let anybody fool ya! I hit a deer in april on my way home from work. It came from charging across the road and there was no time to react. I ended up with over 40 fractures and lost miles of skin. "ouch" Luckly I didnt have any head injury, but my helmet was destroyed. It killed the deer and I just laid in the road hoping not to get run over by a passing car. This happen in april and I just got back on .Riders that survive ride On. But always, alway wear a helmet ,riders who dont are idiots' | |

| Motorcycles Posted: 8/13/2008 1:25:20 PM | | Gotta agree with Cris wholeheartedly on this one..a little over 2 weeks ago my 64 yr old Uncle who was like a 2nd Dad to me was killed in a motorcycle accident..through no fault of his own!..to say the least im still trying to handle this and move on which has not been easy....to all those on a bike...stay safe!!..to those driving an automobile please watch for motorcyclist!!(and yes my Uncle was wearing a helmet).. (hugs) ~Kel.. (Love and miss you lots Uncle Bruce!) | |

| Motorcycles Posted: 8/15/2008 5:50:05 PM | Sorry to hear about your Uncle Bruce. I know several riders who got killed while wearing helmets, and several who survived a wreck without a helmet. I figure it's a "when your number is up" type of thing. I hear it at all the time for not wearing one. | |
