| Guys, what do you think of the girls?
Posted: 6/29/2009 10:11:37 PM | I'm not sure if my experience on this site has been out of the norm, thus far my dates have been full of shenanigans. For the most part I seem to only attract women who are either cougars or girls looking for a guy to financially support their little family. So what I’ve experience thus far is women chasing money or young meat. Also guys, you know damn well there are times you really wish you had a great girl by your side, instead of always chasing ass. I love to gamble but I’m over throwing my****on the roulette table and hoping I don’t catch a STD. Recently I turned 26, I notice I’m envious of my friends in successful relationships, and I’m kind of over being single. So needless to say, this site hasn’t yet presented me with what I’m truly looking for.
I do believe that most of the blame should be placed on my own profile. When I have an adult beverage on the weekends or after work, I do like to smoke a cigarette or two. Yes, we all know smoking is a disgusting habit and is similar to financing a Dr. Kevorkian assisted suicide. That said, I’m a pretty honest person and I’m not going to lie on my profile and try to hide my personal lifestyle choices. Sadly, all the profiles I view of women who I find myself interested and attracted to, don’t allow emails from smokers.
Shame on my tobacco vice for limiting my dating options, oh and I miss Billy Mays. Tonight I’m going to pour some extra Oxy Clean on my laundry for my homie. | |

Posted: 6/29/2009 10:55:09 PM | Most of the chicks I've talked to on here seem to fall in the "floater" category.
They're not here to date or find love, just to attract mobs of horny dudes as "orbiters" to float around them and inflate their egos while shooting down any pathetic attempt by guys to actually meet because that would actually require getting your large butt off the computer and maybe walk on the street without red carpet and an honor guard.
Then you have the "urbane" chicks who usually live in a place like Manhatten where there's expensive restaurants every 5 feet, so they pick out only the best looking guys to do them the favor of accepting free dinners without ever investing anything emotionally. Why stick to one guy when you can just go thru life having random men buy you glasses of Merlot and $5 Lattes? As soon as he displeases the Queen in any way, she usually puts him on ignore and picks the next lucky contestant to be given a chance to kiss her a$$ properly.
Then you have "Wedding Planners" who suddenly find their biological clock ticking after having wasted the best years of their life in bars getting hammered and ridden hard by "bad boys", now suddenly are worn out and want the "responsible guy" who studied hard in school, has an actual career and stock portfolio, to give her a white picket fence and 2.5 kids.
"Bargain hunters" whose pants look like 2 pounds of baloney in a 1 pound bag, but won't date any guy who isn't shredded.
"Player Haters" who go thru life dating superconfident womanizers with hot bods, and project their last 5 boyfriends on the poor "nice guy" who had to drink a Red Bull before nervously managing to type out "Hi, errr wanna go on a date with me?"
I'm sure I'm missing a few but this is what I've talked to lately. | |

Out of the 8 or so women that I've "pinged" with a hello, 2 have turned out to be worth my time, and another 2 didn't reply, 1 deleted my message without reading it, and 1 young lady (who claims to have extreme social anxiety) wrote to me first.
The one who wrote to me is way too young for my taste, but I still wrote her back out of common human decency. She claims to have extreme social anxiety, so I only text her even tho I have her #. This one goes in my "lets just be friends" file but she seems like a kind-hearted young lady and overall a positive POF experience.
Got 3 other #'s, 1 seems to enjoy wasting my time. I said "ok, please join me" and she was like "I will let you know later" I was thinking "wtf, life is short we are not immortals, I must be doing something wrong if I can't even give away a free dinner." But then I realized it wasn't me, she was just toying with me. Why you give me your # if you dont want to do anything or go anywhere or even meet me.
If I'm ugly to you then just say "no thanks" and step.
Another # was a very nice Xtian lady with a beautiful smile, I am taking it very slow with her until we see what develops.
So out of 8 hellos, 3 positive POF experiences, 3 wastes of flesh, and 3 "eh whatever."
So far POF is the best dating site I have discovered. | |

I am here reading what guys write/think, trying to figure this whole thing out. Dating, that is.
It is an endless world of constantant distraction and I don't know if anyone knows how to stop!

This site is mostly fluff and ego.
Very little originality.
This site seriously needs to do away with the "favs" and pic rating garbage so the "adults"
around here can grow up!

Altho I'm not happy with my score, at least it gives me some kind of assessment about my looks and how it affects women's reaction to my profile.
Also it motivates me to keep my fitness discipline, and lets me know I need to put up better pictures.
Overall I would say its a self-improvement tool more than anything.
The "favorites" I'm not really sure what that's for, other than to encourage floaters to have alot of orbiters.

Its the #1 complaint I hear from women on this site and from my experiences its not the guys that are the problem. Most the women on here put up a fake front and aren't looking for a real, decent guy their on here for attention. | |

If these women were so turned off by the e-mails/profiles/whatever, they would cancel their accounts and go elsewhere permanently, but they don't do they. The fact that many of the profiles boast top down breast shots, and the paucity of female forum posters would suggest that most come online to check their mail and to see if the number of their favourites went up. Its an ego stroke
But then again, this site is not meant to be a dating site, but an advertising vehicle (in the form of maintaining high click-thru rates). Never forget that. | |

Posted: 6/30/2009 11:24:40 AM | What I think is funny is how they complain that guys whine that we're not getting attention from them. granted I get plenty of emails and what not, and meets but If a lot of guys are complaining about the women on here, myself included, there is definitely some truth to the fact that the women on here are full of it, and are very fake from the get go. Coincidence? I think not.
Most of the womens complaints are about guys who like them but for some reason, they don't like back. Notice a similarity between the two? | |

The one's I did meet though were just strictly one night stands. What's sad is how some of them get so attached that they refuse to let go. Its like a bloodsucking leech sticking to your body. You get the picture. | |

^^^All I can say to this is..AMEN. Couldn't have said it any better myself. For some of them, it's all about stroking their precious ego's, while of course at the same time admiring all the attention at hand.
Although it cracks me up how some of them use the same lines when they specifically state about looking for LTR's and committment. Two words for that...smokescreen and mirrors.

One lady from this site wanted me to declare a relationship after a weekend together!!!!
Another from POF took me out on a double date with her current husband and his girlfriend!!! No I had no idea that I was sitting next to her husband!!!! she told me latter on our last phone call!!!
Saved the best for last went out with a "lady" from another site. She would avoid the question of her job on the phone.......After a couple of drinks she must have loosened up because when I asked on the date she proudly announced she was an escort!!!!
Check please!!!!!!
I have others but they are the standard gold digger or women just wanting sex. So I will not bore you with those!!! | |

Sadly too many women with no skills to offset their less than attractive physical appearance.
Sadly women with waaaaaaaaaay too many kids, nothing against them but DAMN when does the baby factory close? oh yeah that's right when you decide you want to find someone in your age range and not the ones half your age and have kids, then their insides are a mess or they just don't want to have any more, so sad, so so sad.
Women with waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many PETS, good god just how many animals does a woman need to have emotional fulfillment????????????
Too many BORING women with nothing going on in their lives to talk about who spend waaaaaaay too much time watching crap TV programs like cheaters,bridezillas, etc etc.
Too many really ugly women who don't realize that they are waaaaaaay out of their league.
Women who expect overly too much and don't have the same level of accomplishments to offer in return.
Hope reigns eternal however so i'll be here till i'm 70. lol | |

Posted: 10/3/2009 1:44:18 PM | .I have met a few ladies from this site. They have been pleasant experiences for the most part. I am looking for an honest woman. I found out today honesty is much more important than looks. I met a lady here today whose pics were at least 10 years old. In the pics she looked 35 or younger. She is 43. In person she looked 53 which would not be a problem if her pics had been true. We had talked on the phone and emailed many times over the last week or so.
There was another lady I met here who was upfront with her weight. We talked I liked her alot so when I did meet her it was not a disappointment.
I also believe that many of the ladies here are not truthful about what they are looking for. Many will not take the time to respond to an email even though you are what they say they are looking for. I don't mean to be negative here but it does become quite discouraging. | |

Posted: 10/3/2009 1:55:00 PM | Everyone has a point. A lot of PEOPLE on here are looking for different things. Some want a fast lay on a boring evening. Others want that ego boost i keep hearing about. But in my own defense, an ego boost is the last thing I would say I have recieved from socializing on this site. But is it all their fault for wanting what they want or is it also our own fault for looking in the wrong places.
I listen to a lot of women talk about how all guys want is sex, but I have seen a lot of women have sex right away when not knowing a person enough to know what they want. I have listened to a lot of guys talk about how women want the whole package and that they try to mold them into what they want. But Yet is it not they prettiest faces they try to contact first? Sounds like a two way street to me.
I think people need to quit blaming the opposite sex for all their problems. There are good people and bad people on both sides. If you choose to see all of the bad it is much harder to notice the good. Maybe we should stop looking at everyone else and start thinking of what we ourselves might be doing to contribute to our own misery. | |

It's like I'm in a garden and I can pull out the weeds to find something growing.
I've had awesome fun even though I'm still looking for a suitable fit for me.
