Cosmo, didn't know I relate to you so well - you are a very fine person of the male persuasion.
Our thread weaver's comment on business and relating it to the male / female situation: I understood that part of your discussion, don't think others did.
But as to you running away from the female embodiment of NA. Please don't. You are a deep man with cultural value and we need your mind in here.
Ok, these guys think thou doth protest too much; but isn't that just this thing we do in thread?
In NA, women can be forthright and a bit demanding and in all our small towns, certainly uncultured, but surely the same can be reported all over the world.
I do resent that you might think I am less of a woman than my European friends - but I sense that you are giving up on - women.
I have many business associates in England and they have never expressed that they put European women over the NA women. My most fav Euro man is lonely with lots of nookie but still wanting Ms. Right (doesn't exactly say it the same way, but I read his mind).
Please don't give up. She's out there for you; probably right next to you. | |

neverbeenlaid, You have no idea of what you speak about. Yes, American women can be pretty hot - but as a country of overweight people, it's getting harder and harder to find the hot ones.
Having defined roles in a relationship doesn't make either person a slave, just makes it better for getting along. Those roles can be negotiated between the two people, regardless where they are from. | |

I have learned a lot about this subject by the discussions here. They get me thinking and then I go online elsewhere and look stuff up. So far I have an understanding of what is going on behind the hostility that makes some women appear as unappealing as they do, despite their apparent desire for a mate or lover. It helps me to have my understanding, and it lets me know why women who seem that way are ones for me to avoid. Not that they wouldn't avoid me from their side anyway, but I'm just saying. I figure people who like fights find things to fight about.
Whatever the ideas people have about relationships and roles and gender, for harmony you need some basic bias towards it, and away from conflict. When someone comes along with a premise of conflict, they have a war waiting to be waged. It's opportunistic conflict in the name of the cause. Then you aren't being a couple so much as they get their own private battle in the larger war, to keep fighting and winning over and over again.
I think many women in the US have enlisted as soldiers in the war between the sexes. I don't want a warrior bride. I want someone who makes love not war. Battles belong outside the home, and don't do much for me there anyway. So whether it is west or east doesn't matter. The point is to be with someone to be loving and happy. There are women in the west who don't want their relationships with men to be personal battlegrounds. So now the only question I am left with is north vs. south. | |
