| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/8/2006 9:39:33 AM | | Turned 45 end of Dec, thought I might have a problem with it, but didn't even bother me. What did bother me was realizing I had to get my emissions test done, on my birthday cause I didn't read the darn paper right, and then wasting the day trying to find someone to do it, and it failed so it had to be fixed and redone the next day and still didn't get my tags until the next day, ...... sorry, huh, big breath, so you can see why turning 45 didn't bother me. LOL Turning 46 will be a piece of cake! | |

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/8/2006 1:45:02 PM | Don't sweat it girl! I'm 55 and I'm looking better than ever. I've lost 40 pounds in the last year and I'm in great shape - size 6 now! I'm loving it. I'm dating and enjoying the looks guys give me - even younger men look once in a while now. :)
Sure, there are things about being older than suck but that's just all a part of growing up. What you can change - change - what you can't - live with it and accept it. You have to love yourself first and be comfortable in your own skin.
Enjoy the age you are now because you'll only be older next year!

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/8/2006 3:19:13 PM | I stopped having birthdays when I hit 45. In fact when someone asks my age I have to mentally count to figure out my age... We are talking about a major mental block thing here LOL... When I was growing up, I wasn't around any kids my age (I went to school in a one room school house), I was always around grownups, and many of my parents friends were mostly in their 70's and up. One of the reasons I had hoped to be dead by the time I hit 40 since I have a major phobia of being old. Now I go to the VA and see all the old men there and shudder...and do NOT want to be one of them... but I know I will if i don't die. Not a happy thought...

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/8/2006 11:35:27 PM | I'm younger now than I ever was. I was a little old man when I was thirty....
Since my divorce two and a half years ago, I've dated more women than I had previously in my entire life - and enjoyed myself ten times more.
I work with some late twenty year olds, and ( in most cases) I can outperform them every single minute of every working day. They sound like eighty year olds sometime.
Age is attitude. Experience and wisdom are great gifts.
Plus, I got to experience some great times in the Sixties Seventies, and Eighties - and the best music ever made. ( OK...not all music in the Eighties was that great...plus...I actually had to experience the musical hell of disco - which is like being a combat vet in my books. )
I saw Dylan and the Rolling Thunder Review from the third row center ( for like ten dollars) the FIRST Who Farewell Tour, Bowie, Big Momma Thorton, BB King in around 1974 ( a lot less Los Vegas then, and EXACTLY like those classic Live LP's) John Lee Hooker in a small club.......the Beatles LIVE on TV ....sigh.....
I would not trade places for the world.

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/8/2006 11:59:36 PM | I turn 45 in september...and I must say it's harder to swallow than 40 was. Now I'll be officially closer to 50 than 40. And that is disconcerting, to say the least. I am , however, at a very happy time in my life, and I look great for my age, so screw it, I'm good to go!! Nevermind!! | |

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/9/2006 10:51:14 AM | | 45 for me was a long time ago (59) But I look at it this way - The only way to not get older is to be dead. Plus you have to get older- you DO NOT- have to gro up (little Peter Pan in all of us) | |

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/9/2006 12:47:34 PM | ...It is my thinking that how you deal with aging depends uopn your state of mind at that particular time in your life. I just entered my fifties and I feel great, have a positive outlook and, for the most part am quite comfortable with who I am. I didn't always feel this way. The traumatic periods affected my emotional state and how I viewed life in general. The passing of my mother sent me into a depression that was enormously hard to overcome. I remember thinking how fragile life really is, here one day and gone the next. I was fast approaching my fifties at the time and had this whole mortality thing wrapped around my brain. I was not in a good space. But we know that time does heal all the pains and hurts and we hopefully become healthier people through life's lessons. So with all that being said, yes, maybe we should ponder upon mortality and enjoy the time we have here. Heres to all you 45+

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/9/2006 1:09:08 PM | | I don't like the ageing (sp?) process at all. It takes longer to heal from injuries. I have to keep up every 6 months on mammograms...due to cysts. I now need glasses. It takes FOREVER to lose weight and keep it off. I'd like to have what I have now and be 30...then my body was much easier to maintain. Not to mention the lines and changing of my skins texture.. thank god for botox and plastic surgery!! | |

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/9/2006 1:35:04 PM | Hi, Montreal Guy: I totally agree.....I can (also) run rings around 20 year olds! It is all about attitude, and MY attitude is that I feel 18!
I would not trade places for the world, either!
Rock n Roll forever!

LOL Turning 46 will be a piece of cake! Here in the US we have emission testing for cars, but not for people. Do I want to know what kind of emission testing is required for Canadian's when they turn 45? (Did you pass, so to speak?)

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/10/2006 5:54:19 AM | | I was 35 yesterday and 56 today....dammed if I know where the years went to. Happier today than ever before. Positive just about everything and can only assume it will get better. Bring it on........ | |

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/10/2006 7:06:40 AM | Aging is all part of the life cycle. Who wouldn't want to live for a very long time? With a healthy body and plenty of family and friends and money to share it with? | |

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/16/2006 7:19:32 AM | | I turned 45 eleven years ago...don't remember anything about it. The other day I played 36 holes of golf in 96 degree weather. We had a bet on the game and I lost 500 dollars. It was great...I didn't bat an eye. I know 45 year olds who couldn't do that! It was great! Ain't life grand?!? | |

| Okay, is turning 45 the worst or what? Posted: 7/17/2006 11:05:51 AM | I loved my 40's and expect to love my 50's. Turning any particular age is no problem at all and I'm tyring to live to the fullest I can - now, if I were to turn impotent, THAT would be the worst! | |
