| Talking in your sleep Posted: 9/4/2009 4:04:33 PM | Here's another thread worth resurrecting...
I've been told I talk in my sleep. And I don't mind if my partner listens and asks me about it. Actually, I find it to be entertaining.
One time, I had a dream were I was making a sound and moving my arm and leg in tandem and my Ex was wondering if I was alright or was in pain.
The truth was that the dream was about something in the past... I was trying to get our camping trailer out of our back yard with my dad's 1982 Mercury Grand Marquis. But I was having problems as the car was stalling a lot and I always had to restart it.
By what my Ex described, I was mimicking the sound of the engine starting while turning the key with my hand and pumping the gas with my foot...

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 9/4/2009 4:12:02 PM | | OP, who are you talking about? You’re profile you’re looking for a Long Term relationship! Are you involved or not? | |

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 9/4/2009 4:28:15 PM | I have to say something! I talk and walk in my sleep. I have done this since I was a child. I can have a perfectly logical conversation with anyone while I am sleeping and they would never know that I was not awake. Many people have seen this about me and cannot believe that I was sleeping until they tested me out. My absolute give-away? I am very obedient when I am asleep and ~ I do tell all in utter honesty, much to my dismay sometimes! | |

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 9/4/2009 4:59:27 PM | Once had a boyfriend who couldnt wait til I went to sleep. Seems I carry on long conversations while sleeping.. who would have known..
I will say the person sleeping cannot be held responsible for it...no matter how much the other pees on himself laughing.

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 9/4/2009 4:59:39 PM | | Ok...can't believe I'm gonna admit this but since others of you have I feel such freedom!!! LOL! I have been known to talk in my sleep before... a number of times. I hate it, in fact it has been a problem in previous relationships I've had because I got to where I was afraid to spend to sleep with my b/f because I never knew what I was going to say and he actually posted a comment about it on my My Space page one day, was soo mad! Anyway, my point to all of this is to say this, I never said anything that had anything even remotely to do with what was going on in my life. It was always stuff to do with something I was dreaming about, so yes, it did get interesting, but no, no one was going to get any TRUE personal or private information out of me from something I said in my sleep. It was all just goofy stuff I said surrounding whatever I was dreaming about. So, I wouldn't try to listen in on your boyfriend unless you want him to ultimately feel the same way I did, like his privacy is being violated and he can't trust you. | |

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 9/7/2009 5:07:33 AM | Daggone, I do talk in my sleep. It is the joke in my house, that when I am really tired, I will tell anything and everything. A couple of years ago, my sons, now ages 19 and 20, admitted to me they always knew what they were getting for Christmas, when they were little. They would catch me when I was sleeping, after being really exhausted, and muttering in my sleep, they would ask me. And I told them. Its been an ongoing thing, and a private joke for them, for years.
Evidently while married to my 2nd husband, I said a name in my sleep. Bill Durham. He accused me of fooling around. Like when did I ever even have time for that?! Of course I denied it, then later realized------Bull Durham----the Keven Costner movie-- I am a big fan of his.
I often wake up talking. My kids do it to, so it is genetic.

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 9/7/2009 11:25:09 AM | | i have had entire conversations in my sleep without any recollection. im also a sleepwalker. i ate a pizza one night. i have 1 sleeptalking kid. his is nonsense and curse words. i live alone now so im not sure if i even do it anymore. i suppose i do but nobody is there to let me know. i dont know if there is a way to encourage or discourage it. | |

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 9/7/2009 11:34:55 AM | An ex of mine did this all the time. They were often very funny, surreal conversations that went on at length, with him providing both sides. He didn't remember the dreams on waking and found them amusing to hear about.
He took Ambien, so that might've had something to do with it.
Whether it was a drug effect or not, it was mostly fun - except sometimes it'd keep me awake!

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 10/3/2009 1:12:22 PM | guyd42...this is an older thread...i am single again now..have been for quite a while

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 10/3/2009 1:40:27 PM | | I dated a female who talked in her sleep and found out she was all about me as it seems someone was trying to get with her and she was not having it. She even threaten the person by saying I will hurt them badly if they keep up what they are doing but in the long run we broke up do to separation. So in some cases it's good to listen then in some cases it will be very bad if you don't want to hear what is gonna be said. | |

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 10/3/2009 4:00:02 PM | Apparently I talk in my sleep from time to time. I also have sex in my sleep with someone but so far I haven't divulged names...phew.

| Talking in your sleep Posted: 10/3/2009 8:56:36 PM | | If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen! He may not even be aware of the what would cause him to say certain things in his sleep, so if you're not prepared to deal with it in a mature way you should leave it alone. Otherwise, you could tell him that your curious about what he says and see how he feels about you listening in. | |
