Posted: 4/17/2006 8:53:20 AM | i do not like hugs at all, it violates my space, i only want to be hugged by a woman that
i am madly in love with, short of that , shake my hand. this woman at work kept hugging
me and i asked her to stop, she would not. so the next time she hugged me i got a hand
full of tit. now she , has stopped hugging me.
glad to know there is someone else out there. that does not like there space violated | |

Posted: 4/17/2006 9:11:53 AM | Well, in business.. .. it is very important to shake hands.. .. and I have an awesome handshake.. .. just the right grip..no sweaty palms...three good pumps...firm and a good squeeze.. .. looking them in the eye and smiling during the hand shake.. .. some may laugh at this.. .. but I can tell you it has produced many contacts and promotions.. .. of course none of the people I shook hands with new that I ran to the bathroom to wash away all the germs they had just spread to me by their contact.. .. while I was going through Chemo...I became a germ-a-phoebe!
I would always hold my breath...if someone hugged me...so not to breathe in their germs..but then chemo was finished I was fine.. .. and I lightened up on the whole germ business.
Now back to hugging.. .. when my son died I must have been hugged a thousand and one times.. .. and it felt good.. .. I felt the love and compassion the huggers were transferring to me the huggee.. .. so when it comes to hugs...I'M ALL IN !
I guess you could even say I'm addicted to it.. .. can't go without them.. .. when friends of mine introduce me to new people they try to shake my hand.. .. but I say...sorry I'm a hugger not a shaker.. .. of course I always ask "do you mind".. .. I don't hug anyone that isn't comfortable getting hugged!

Posted: 4/17/2006 10:45:11 AM | I am one who likes my space..if someone is getting to close I just back up..I have male friends who are forever going in for a kiss I just turn my face away..there is nothing more annoying then someone basically trying to force themselves on you.
I have friends and family members that I'm close to that I hug..I love hugging the ppl that I love..but if I don't know you keep your face out of mine and your hands off me..I'm not all that polite when ppl are rude enough to touch when they shouldn't be..I let them know I don't think it's acceptable.. | |

Posted: 4/17/2006 5:42:37 PM | I for one like being hugged. It depends on the setting but I mostly hug everyone I come across in a social atmosphere. Remember "Brothers don't shake hands, brothers hug." I want my male friends to feel like my brother and my female friends to feel like they can touch me anytime they want!
It would be a little weird for me to hug my work associates but I do it on occasion, I don't make it the rule. | |

It's hard enough in this day and age to feel loved and accepted. I think it's very wrong that we live in a culture that thinks hugging others is not normal or "reserved for special people". A child has no concern over "personal bubbles", they just shower love because it feels good as is natural. That is something that is stripped out of us because some random people view it as inappropriate to show any affection.
here's a formula for you... for every 1 hug you receive, your heart grows 1 day younger. | |
