| Saturday Game Posted: 5/3/2008 12:34:22 AM | Can I pick both teams to win & lose, if the team I would like to win, can win in overtime. Done, that was easy, now I pray to the hockey gods for my 1 point.
I have to see them win at least this next round, Montreal 3 Phil 2 Oh what the heck, overtime. Praying to hockey gods.

| Any games left? Posted: 5/4/2008 1:45:51 AM | OK, here's my next week's predictions in case Jagr is trying for the superman job in his last appearances and in case Joe Thornton takes a bite out of Modano on Sunday which is highly unlikely as probably he will score a hatrick for the stars!!!....Is Modano a UFA next year, a perfect line mate for heatley and Spazza!!!!
Monday Pens 3Rangers 4 Tuesday Stars 3 Sharks 2
Wednesday Rangers 4 Pens 2
I figured if the pens can't win Sunday then Rangers will win Wed and jagr will then beat Philly single handled and then win Lord stanley....this will be the turning point in the playoffs!!

| Any games left? Posted: 5/4/2008 2:15:27 PM | Well the Penquins can't duck the Flyers anymore. Battle of Pennsylvania coming up.
Pittsburgh deserved the series, but let me get this straight now. Drury gets highsticked for 15 stitches to the face by Malone and no call. Drury clips Malone with his stick while lying on the ice with one minute left in regulation time in a tie hockey game and he gets 4 minutes. I think I counted 4 too many men on the ice calls that were never called....and that was just in the two periods I forced myself to watch. I don't want to even think about all the blatant offsides they let go, but that's happening every night in every series.
Me, i'll be glad when these playoffs are over. There seems to be three teams out there most nights this year, but nobody ever ever pays good money to watch the zebras affect outcomes. Everyone on CBC and TSN seem to be choking over their tongues trying not to harp about how lousy the reffing has been this year, but me, I've just about had enough of watching this crapola.
Congrats to the young pens. Strangers never seemed to get back into the series after blowing that three goal lead in game 1.
Eastern Final: Flyers in 7

| Any games left? Posted: 5/4/2008 2:22:44 PM | I know it's been open season on the officiating these playoffs, and in fairness, some of the calls were absolutely BRUTAL. With that being said, i'm kind of getting sick and tired of hearing EVERYONE **** about their team being ****ed over because of the zebras. All my Montreal friend fans at the bar last night openly ****ed about how their team got ****ed over by every single penalty that was called. Montreal got a lot of calls go their way, especially in the first round. Bottom line is, even if your team is getting called, they also got calls, wether it be during the regular season or not. The NHL is not this big conspiracy like everyone seems to think.
/end rant. | |
|
| Any games left? Posted: 5/4/2008 2:31:21 PM | I don't think it's a conspiracy korrosive. And my team's not even in their, so i've watched with an impartial view throughout. I just want to see some good hockey without all the cheap calls and no-calls.
It almost seems like if you're a defenceman and you take one of your hands off your stick, you're going to get a holding call whether you touched the other guy or not. This game isn't the same game we played for many many years. You lift a guy's stick when the pass gets to him and you're blown down for interference or hooking. But, you were taught to defend that way.
It's just out and out lousy officiating; due mostly to inconsistency in their calling of the game.
EDIT: ps. I don't know why your hab chums would be whining. The conspiracy theory in that series was that the fix was in for the sole remaining canadian team to advance. It was the Flyers fans that came up with that conspiracy theory.

| Any games left? Posted: 5/4/2008 3:17:08 PM | KEEP ROLLIN, ROLLIN, ROLLIN, PENGUINS!!!!!!!
Nothing compares to how Dallas got robbed on that goal they should have gotten against the Sharks back in game 5. You want to talk about blown calls, If that goal wouldn't have been called back, Dallas would be facing the Red Wings right now.
This was clearly not a kick. I mean, he wasn't even looking down!
