"And if you all still think im a perv. i enjoy the time i spend with my younger male and if thats makes me a perv in your books then fine. i am truely happy are u? "

Do you spend as much time WITH your young lad as you do posting about how happy you are with him? I would think if you were that 'happy' you'd be off into the sunset by now instead of caring enough to continue posting on here. A lil something to ponder...

As for the poster who said there is a lot of 'venom' in the posts on this thread...the orignial poster did ask whether or not people thought it was 'wrong' for her to date a man 17 years younger than herself. To me that says that somewhere in her being she herself sees it as 'wrong.' Otherwise, why not just ask the question "What does everyone think about an older woman/younger man (boy, in this poster's case)?" or something along those lines? I think we can apply some Freudian concepts here. JMO!

If you are 34 and he is 17.......that isn't only sick........it makes you a pedofile lady !

I don't know where you are, but in my state, 17 will get you 30 ...... in the fu*kin pen !

At 34, I'd have thunk you would have grown up by now ! Jesus Christ !

thats just plain wrong lady, i have a nephew who is 17, and if he came home with a 34 yr old, 1) she would get her ass beaten by his mom
2) he would be taken to a doctor to make sure he didnt catch anything from her
3) if he caught something from, his mom would repeat reason number 1

The answer is yes you are absolutely right. If he did he wouldn't even think of those considerations.

grizzaroo. You be the Judge. I would say no. I do have a problem with 17 and 34 though. What is the motivation? Be it man/woman. Sounds like a mommy/daddy thing to me. Issues at hand.

sassilass said "the sex is pretty good so i will stick with it and deal with the complications at a later date"

so you said it all... and yes because he's biologically at or near his sexual peak, your just using him. ...in fact if this were a teacher-student relationship you'd be in big trouble sassilass (??) There's almost no hope of a permanent relationship between the two of you.. (give him a few years and it could happen) and while he's probably enjoying this immensley (at 17 I sure would have) and claiming bragging rights to his friends about it... he's probably way to young to appreciate anything more than sexual satisfaction out of it.

And if he does per chance form an emotional bond and attachment to you, you're screwing up his mind big time, 'cause as you indicate, your in it for a good time, not a long time. Things could get really intense for you both

And because you and your energizer bunny are both at the prime babymaking stages of your lives, one slip and.......

I don't criticize wide age gap relationships because my own nephew did that... he was 24 and his girlfriend was 42... that was 5 years ago and they are still together and are very happy... but he was 24 is not 17

each to there own, lets face it i would never date a man of your age, there is nothing wrong with guys your age its just not for me i find older guys boring and expect you to stay home and watch tv. younger guys are a little bit more relaxed about where you are and what you do without them around. but hey good luck in your search if you find one female who can make you as happy as i am you will be truely content with your life

I meant that if the person was 30, that would the person they were dating 13!

Because you don't have the mentality to keep up with a man your age would be my guess. Maybe it's because you have nothing to offer a MAN and the boy is easily pleased. I don't know what the men are like in the UK, but men in their 30s and 40s are still pretty darn vibrant over here. I guess when you hit 30 in the UK you suddenly turn into a tea-drinking old man with a cane who has no energy to do anything. You keep saying that men your age are boring. This I don't believe. I think you're using that as an excuse when, in all actuality, you probably couldn't land a man your age even if you tried.

Reading this post reminds me of a story that made our local news this week.

Seems a 32 year old women took her 8 year old son from his home and family to "run away" and begin a new life with the 16 year old student she had been dating. Even though she was married. This women was a teacher at a school for special needs students. He was one of her students. The dad of the 8 year old called police when he came home and found his wife and son missing. The way the couple was caught, was because of an alert transit employee who saw the women "all over this boy" on the bus they were taking to Florida. Not knowing anything about the story, the employee called police because he thought it was "not right" to see an adult lady all over this "boy" like that.

~wonder what kind of damage that did to the 8 year old?
~like it or not, we are judge by the perceptions we project. Is that how you want to be viewed?

I think he's too young for you...even if he makes you laugh. Good rule of thumb....if you could have given birth to the person your dating....he's probably too young for you. Re-think this one for his sake if you really do care about him.
