| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/25/2009 12:50:08 PM | | If I was going to quit smoking, it would be for myself...not for anyone else...And as hard as I try to quit, it's just not happening...So to answer your question, NO and I can't imagine having a dreamboat who wanted to change me...nor I change them. | |

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/26/2009 4:47:29 PM | I don't date smokers, occasional, or regular. If a guy wanted to date me, he would have to be a non-smoker. Although I'd never ASK or DEMAND him to quit. Quitting works the best if its the desire of the smoker.
I used to chew tobacco, yea, gross, I know, not much different than sucking on a cigarette, but decided to quit a while back. There was a guy I was interested in, and I hid the habit from him for years. Some of our mutual friends knew, and some people in his family knew. I'm sure he did as well, but he never said anything about it. Not one word, ever.
Although we don't date now, and its been years, I still did use my feelings for him to motivate my quitting. I don't feel it was wrong, or that I quit for bad reasons. And now later on, I am thankful for not using tobacco, no matter what the reason is.
So my theory on quitting for a person you care about? Sometimes in a situation like that, your partner can give you strength and inspiration, especially when you need it the most!
As far as the man of my dreams being a regular smoker? The man IN my dreams does NOT smoke... So therefore, I won't have to worry about it. LOL

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/26/2009 5:58:57 PM | | Dated this guy, he would only kiss me if I didn't smell like smoke. Would fool around and even have sex but wouldn't kiss me. So I only smoked when I wasn't seeing him. It was worth it. Great kisser he was. | |

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/26/2009 6:52:23 PM | | And vice versa? No way would I deal with a smoker even if she was my so called dreamboat. It is on my list of not's, and is one of the first things I ask. Get it over and done with now than later. | |

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/26/2009 10:53:50 PM | | Actually I have..... My then boyfriend (years ago), told me he wouldn't marry me unless I quit smoking! I was more upset at the ultimatum, than the the act itself... So, I was stubborn for a little while, then quit. We got engaged, got married, have 2 great kids and have been divorced now for 9 years! So, yeah, if it was that important I probably would! | |

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/26/2009 11:20:01 PM | I'd have to agree with some of the other posts on here...I wouldn't quit for anyone but myself...my husband of 17 years (ex) hated it...only picked it up in the last three of our marriage because of stress...I wasn't going to quit for him or anyone else for that matter...if they are truly your "dreamboat" they will understand..especially if you're a considerate smoker and do so outside and not in their faces...!!!
Some advice...constant nagging only deepens the persons addiction to it...if you step back and support your "dreamboat"...they will quit on their own when they are ready...!!

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/26/2009 11:38:51 PM | I have to say it would be easier to quit if I was dating a non smoker, but I still would only do it for me. But he better give my hands and mouth something to do to keep the cravings at bay. And when I want to chew the ass end out of something from having body cramps so bad I wan to kill someone, he better smile and say that's ok hun, well survive | |

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/27/2009 12:53:45 AM | Would I? Are you mad? A resounding yes.
Hell I probably smoke because I don't have a dreamboat. I wouldn't let one get away over some misplaced arrogance about what I can and cannot do. I'd drop it like a sack of potatoes if required, and love the idea.
Hell I'd stop the world from turning if I could to show my desire, upon request. There is no question of priorities with me.

Should I meet someone that's important to me, I'll quit on a dime. No second thoughts or remorse.
If you could do that...why not quit smoking anyway, even without someone in your life???

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/27/2009 7:37:26 AM | I tried that once. Seemed to be a little controling if you ask me. If someone knows that you smoke, want to be with you anyway, then says that it's a deal breaker...that is rediculous. You can't change people. If it is so important to you, then find someone who dosen't. Don't add the "I want you to quit" speech in once the person has fallen for you. Not nice! | |

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/27/2009 7:43:00 AM | I bet I've missed out on some good women just because they smoke. I don't care, it is down right wrong in my opinion and just will not even think about dating a woman who does. It is very simple.
As a few posts have said, I am not here to change them, I am here to date them, if I learn she has an item on my list of "NOT"S" I just don't ask her out, or if I hava already started dating her, I let her know nicely, that we're not a good fit.
Did I say it is pretty easy!!!!!

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/27/2009 9:59:20 AM | | A big resounding YES!!! It would be an added impetus to quit this ball and chain. I'd been a non-smoker for three years, but restarted after a difficult relationship/break-up. I'd never date a smoker because I know it would then be impossible to quit. And of course non-smokers would not want to date me. I'm working on it. | |

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/27/2009 10:25:47 AM | Wow...what isn't bad for you...?? Processed foods, microwaves with all the radiation...your cell phones....drinking...etc..etc...
People can be so judgemental...I really have yet to hear of anyone dying from second hand smoke...yet alcohol is the cause of many deaths...innocent lives especially....yet people drink and it's socially acceptable...but have a cigarette and you're the devil?? Smoker's are really only harming themselves and even then I have a better chance of getting in a fatal car accident than lung cancer....Our lives are to do with what we please and what makes us happy as long as we are not hurting others...so I say light up...enjoy....and be happy.... ; )

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/27/2009 11:17:34 AM | ^^^^^^The thing is you shouldn't take it personal. I choose not to hang around smokers do to the fact it stinks like $h!t, and if you have to kiss one, it tastes terrible. I don't want and won't do something I don't want to do. Same thing goes if a woman I was interested in and she has an alcohol problem. I will stay away from the situation.
It's not you they choose to stay away from it is your choices, and by all means you have your right to smoke or drink just as much as the rest of have the choice to avoid them.

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/28/2009 7:02:36 PM | I am a smoker and know I need to quit. When/If I decide to, it will be because it is my choice. My dream man would take me as I am either way. Everyone is going to die eventually.. death is never predudice. I say be happy while you are alive and enjoy it. I would love to quit some day.. just not right now. Maybe it's the rebel in me.. lol | |

| Smokers: Would you quit smoking for your dreamboat? Posted: 7/28/2009 7:56:35 PM | Yes and no. I will stop smoking for myself - not for anyone else. As a matter of fact, I am trying to quit right this minute. I have already started taking Chantix (today was my first day) and my goal is to be a non-smoker in about 1 week! I'm sure it's going to be hell and I will prolly become the biggest banshee ever, lol
I needed my own reasons and goals to go through with it and in the end, I guess it will benefit all my friends who are ALL non-smokers!
