| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 3/23/2009 8:44:06 PM | what the hell are you on about ego boost? how is stating a fact boosting my ego?
every girl i speak to on here says shes tired of sleazy old men old enough to be her dad and pestering them for sex. maybe its because your the same age as these guys that it doesnt bother you.
and of course women send messages, i didnt mean that literally, but look at the statistics, its about 80% men making first contact versus 20% women. so i wasnt wrong in what i said. you just took it too literally. like most people do.

| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 3/23/2009 9:25:23 PM | Ant, don't get your knickers in a knot. Didn't the poster you are replying to simply state that women do, in fact, sometimes contact men on here too. She also said that it is nice to be polite and reply to messages, which is what you want women to do, right? What's with the aggro then?
As far as anyone being the 'hell on about' ego boosts... Wasn't it you that brought up the subject of 'ego' when you admitted that, as far as women are concerned,
the majority of the messages you recieve are ridiculous inane ramblings from perverts worldwide, at least you get the ego boost.
Ifurgoodenuf simply said that it is not much of a boost to be contacted by Perverts 'R' Us.
as 2 "the perverts world wide" well if u think thats an ego boost..mmmm..NOT.
Anyway, I have a proposition for you. You see, for some unfathomable reason, hardly anyone ever messages me, even though my photos totally rock. Subsequently, I've got lots of time on my hands and I always reply to messages - even from perverts, because I'm just so darn grateful for any contact at all.
If you ever feel you need a change from the truama of read/deleted, just message me! I could do with the boost... and I promise I'll reply. However, it's very, very important that you first read my profile and follow it's instructions exactly .

| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 3/24/2009 12:58:52 AM | Seriously, I only have a finite amount of "polite" in me and it's really not very much. I cant afford to waste it on any of the following.....
Men old enough to be my Dad Men who have been hit by every branch as they fell out of the fugly tree Men who look like they would need a crane to get them out of their chair. Men on motorbikes Men in their undies (unless they are young and hot of course.....I will make exceptions) Men who have more facial hair then Grizzly Adams Men who cant spell for sh1te Men who just say "Wanna chat/cam/fcuk (see young and hot exeption above^)
Im only polite on days that dont end in Y......so probably safer to just not email me actually.

| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 3/24/2009 3:37:58 AM | why do u need to go into some long speech? most guys appreciate a response even if its not interested.. just say 'your not what im looking for' but thank you for the email and good luck.. short but simple.
and ignore any return emails that are a bit bitter... pays not to take all this too seriously.

Posted: 3/24/2009 6:51:01 AM | | as long as thay were interested in the first place and said that thay were interested in you... would be polite and say i would like to meet at one of the gatherings so there would be no pressure on eather person...but some people are just rude... and send horride messages to other people and think there all that and a box of peanuts

| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 3/27/2009 2:38:56 AM | Of the 8 messages I received this financial year, note: not calendar year (sorry...excuse the mindset)...I did not respond to two...I didn't quite understand why I'd be written to by these two women...to be dead honest...true to the core, I was intimidated. Hold off the tomato throwing exercise yet.
One was a director for a popular travel chain in Adelaide (sorry Ms.__ now you know the real reason, eh?)...and I wasn't quite prepared to turn up and disappoint the living daylights out of this smart and accomplished individual. Its somewhat an ego boost but at the same time a kick in the head....I'm a wuss, such a girl, eh? I just knew in my heart of hearts I didn't quite measure up. I need to see a therapist about this...accomplished women scare the bejeesus out of me.
The other one was perfect (profile-wise anyway) but the timing wasn't when I just broke up months before with the ex and I not quite primed to be meeting anybody...I did not respond until the second email weeks later, with an apology....to perhaps catch up a couple of months down the line? Which never happened...I was still feeling quite destroyed even after two months, so it got buried in my to-do-one-day lists, then the too-awkward/hard basket. Shame the timing wasn't the best and I did found her very attractive from her profile photo at that time....I can say it in public but can't write a personal message...I suck, no? Loser, loser, loser. Ok, add show-off as well.... But there you go...not responded due to feelings of inadequacy. The rest I responded with 'Thanks, you're awesome too', to 'Hope all goes well for us both, eh?' to 'Hehehe...take care now'. To 'How much?????? You're kidding right? All with my trademark George Bush laugh. The other messages I got were just the forumites out to give me a hard time.

Know the feeling quite well, that is why I refuse to come out from behind my keyboard for anyone I'm really, truly interested in. Politely rejecting someone attention is a doddle comparitively.
Hold off the tomato throwing exercise yet.
When do we start.... now?
How bout now?
Nice pics... taco de ojo.

| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 4/1/2009 8:09:25 PM | ^^^^ I am going to use that one, tigerlily1.
I try to avoid having to reply to any messages by attempting, with an obnoxious profile, to discourage them in the first place - yet the messages keep coming. I think I'll try demanding, clingy and slightly unbalanced next and see if that works, though obviously that is closer to my real life persona.
I actually hate rejecting people, as I am way too nice (stop laughing, I really am!). I have gone out with people in the past purely because I didn't want to hurt their feelings by rejecting them. What a wuss!

| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 4/1/2009 11:28:40 PM | Your not a wus, you jsut have great empathy, you must yourself first and that is so hard for some and somehting you have to learn.....
Try to look at this way, they dont they deserve to be seeing and chatting to someone who really likes them instead of wasting time with you if you don't really like them, when you think of it that way you will be able to feel good about flicking them off quick so they can move on find their MRS right and aren't you worthy of being left to move on quickly to find you MR right.
In that perspective your doing them a favour by deleting them and then you can always barr them from contacting you again with nasty responses to having been deleted.
time waits for no man so dont waste time, especially on people you have no interest in, they should appreciate being ignored and not having their time wasted dont you think and its not your problem if these desperates are nutters,
Save your empathy for worthwhile cases and causes, and let your empathy and kindness be used against you by horrible men who are in essence emotionally blackmailing a beautifull and caring woman like yourself

| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 4/1/2009 11:32:39 PM | that was dont let these men use your empathy and kindness against you
I type at a 100 words a minute and am not accurate without spellcheck to fix it for me
as I have limited time and shouldnt be on this site I bash the keys around and dont get time to correct my terrible typing errors
good luck | |

| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 4/2/2009 1:26:48 AM | I can reject someones attention, politely.. and entirely.. by not sending out any messages at all... ...
the consensus here seems to be that ladies won't reply anyway...
I've plum run out of convincing first messages anyway.. as they seldom have the desired results.. whether frivolous or sincere....
if someone said hello to me on the street, I'd say hello back... whether it be only the one.. or a hundred inquirers.
women appear less dismissive in real life....
|
| How do you reject someone's attention, politely. Posted: 4/2/2009 2:09:14 AM | This is not saying hello in the street and cant be compared at all, this is a site where people should or claim to have an intention to meet someone for a type of relationship regardless of what type they are seeking
Profiles offer each person the opportunity to present themselves to others on much deeper bases than an off hand hello on the street where both parties can keep walking
And I assure if you continued to pursue someone on the street and forced expectations of further communication and unwanted communication onto them I am sure the police would be called.
You have to understand we are all diffferent and operate in the world differently we have different views on this topic
I dont want or expect men who to respond to my emails if they can see we are not matched, I get read and deleted ,and have no problem with it or give it a second thought at all
Its not always about you, and there is nothing wrong with any of you except your all a little bit desperate and the scheme of things are not prepeared to commit to your search for the right 1 your number 1 you expect it to come too easy and be put in your lap
Nothing is that easy and people struggle and persist a whole life tiem to get what they want, if you choose to complain all the way and waste precious time with people who are not quite right just because they are there then thats you
Others just want to keep moving
Basically it is self esteem issues , beleive in yourself, be sincere in your search none of you are sincere you want anyone who will respond and expect more than one to respond......
Insincerity stands out a mile is a good reason to hit the delete button and not respond
