Was it just me though, or was everyone extra-irritating yesterday?

Just think ... each day you don't smoke, people actually do get less and less irritating ;). Good job on day one!

Ya know.. I thought I had quit and then I had my little shin dig and found myself smoking a fag.. LOL and again last night.. It appears to be linked to drinking.. nothing else.

Is this really smoking? or is it drinking side effects? I'm not sure.. I'm confused by this as I dont' ever get cravings for smokes at all.. they just appear in my hands when I have I have certain number of drinks.. I'm trying to determine which # that is.. so far no luck.

I have decided to take the first step. Did a little research on the web and found this site. Anyone interested in trying to quit might be interested in the way they are doing it.

If you do try good luck. I have joined, start the program tomorrow.

Lots of tips, support, message boards, etc. Found it very very helpful. And Alan Carr. Would marry him if possible.

You can also download publications from the Canadian Cancer Society webpage (help for smokers who want to quit and those that dont).

GEM - I found that when I quit smoking, I had to quit drinking. I've only drank (heavily) once in over two months, but I managed to not light up. But then again, I think my friends who knew I quit woulda beat me if I asked for a drag off someone lol.

okay I did it cold turkey no patches no meds just me and my nicotine-free chewing gum. How long do you have these cravings for is it three days or three months lol. What do you now do socially during coffee breaks and lunch breaks. How do you deal with your friends who are smokers. blah so many questions that I have to try and figure out the answers to by sifting through old posts I suppose sigh

I recently quit... for a week... ugh..

I did REALLY well for that week though. I was taking Champix and it really does work, but I guess I just have no willpower, or not ready, or something??

For my breaks at work, when I'd usually go for a smoke, I'd still go downstairs, but I'd take a quick walk around the block. I have friends that are smokers who were around me, and quite honestly, I was ok with them smoking around me, the smell was actually quite revolting I found, even after only a couple of days. I sure chewed a LOT of gum during that week, my jaw was literally sore from chewing!

I started smoking again the night of the last wrecker... no idea why, but as I was getting ready and waiting for people to arrive at my house, I had a sudden urge to walk to the gas station and get a pack of smokes, and that's exactly what I did, and damn, the first smoke out of that pack sure tasted good!

I don't think I had many mood swings or anything like that, but during that week, my son demanded I go buy some smokes, his exact words were "you need to start smoking again, you were much nicer when you were smoking"... I think though he was pissing me off or something that day

I'm gearing up to do it again. I seriously need to quit. It's a very hard habit to break, even when you seriously want to. I commend everyone who has quit and stuck to it.

I know I can do it I just have to find something else to do. The habit part is the hardest for me. It's only been a few days and my jaw hurts from so much gum lol
