Posted: 4/29/2006 9:10:48 PM | I happen to know a group of nerds in Europe, and some of them have very "normal" lives, and some of them are alone, and some of them are very weird, so as to have girlfriend/boyfriend etc.., it doesn't seem to be related to that fact.
Although, I would say that a nerds' couple will probably have more viability, as they have more things in common, but then; what do I know..?? I'm not that smart....... | |

1- If this is one of those languages that you speak fluently, then I speak 9.
2- Understand that it IS above average, most of the people when comes to Spanish, have huge problems, you don't have that much, but I wouldn't call it fluent, is comparable to my level of English.
That sentence for instance would be"
Ella ES muy bonita!
Que bonita! Is redundant, although it can be use.
Me gusto LA foto que Vicente me envio de ella.
Mijo; would be an expression of amazement, and is pronounced like that, but the real world is: "mi hijo" (my son) | |

Gracias para la informacion que das para yo. I will work on my Spanish grammar. I just speak it more than I write the language,especially with my Hispanic friends. I really shouldn't say fluent,just that I know above average Spanish. | |

By the way I commit a mistake as well I said:
" la foto que el me envio de ella " (enviar=send) (mostrar=to show)
But you actually said: La foto que el mostrar, or something like that; that would be"
"La foto que el me mostro de ella", or "la foto de ella que el me mostro" (both ways are right)

Posted: 4/29/2006 11:09:45 PM | Im a nerd myself...but I embrace it:).I was thrown into all of the gifted classes back in my elementary school days .We actually had to write a play based on Homers lliad and Odyssey in 4th grade and put it on for the class when we were finished.Talk about social suicide My parents also sent me to gifted/educational camps during the summers as a teen.I have always taken my nerdiness in stride.I really hate it when people are arrogant about their intelligence and spend their time trying to make others feel intellectually inferior.Im very down to earth about my"smarts" and appreciate the fact that all people are very smart in their own ways... whether it be being mechanically inclined, having fabulous people skills,or intellectual abilities ect.It has never hindered my ability to get dates,because I believe people dig someone who can talk about a myriad of subjects on dates.It tends to makes for a spiffy evening.If I made any typos,please feel free to point them out...wink wink:) | |

Posted: 4/29/2006 11:31:24 PM | I guess it has to do with, what's your native language. but it isn't difficult, you know? the first is difficult (or second) then it starts to get easier as you go, the difficult part of German would be the pronunciation, but once you get some practice it gets easier, but one thing is almost sure, is close to impossible to sound like they do.......

The nerds came out on top in that one...All you gotta do is get a bunch of fellow nerds together, get kicked out of your dorm by the jocks, find a dumpy old house and renovate that into your new dorm, get permission from an all african-american fraternity to become a chapter, throw a big party that gets crashed by the jealous jocks, enter and then win the home-coming pageant, which gives you acceptance among all....

Geeks arent all that addiction to gaming crap you were talking about, its generally a techie, and because the IT industry is so big these days, they aren't all stunted nerds, some of them are bloody hot :-)

You are intelligent and you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. When the time is right you will meet the right person for you who knows she might be the girl sitting next to you at school, on the bus, at the next whatever convention.

BUT geeks vary so widely in terms of fashion sense and coordination that to me a geek is someone who is into computers, and possibly into sci fi, gaming and gadgetry. I have so many friends who are geeks, that I am aware that they come in many different packages. Heck, the way most of us today use computers, would have been called geeks twenty years ago for the level of computer use that most people enjoy these days. My brother was a jock in high school, and now works with computers. One of my friends was successful in the tech business is a huge gadget freak, and is an attractive man. I like computers, sci fi, old arcade games, and gadgets. I guess that makes me a geek, too, and that's perfectly fine with me.
In fact when I go to New York School of Interior Design I look forward to getting my first Apple computer, and getting a powerful Alienware computer! And learning the CAD CAM software packages, now that will be fun! I a geek and I admit to it!
Geeks can really party! I've been to some conventions, and let me tell you, the parties there are unbelievably FUN!  | |

Posted: 5/1/2006 10:01:54 PM | | yeah ...o.k but answer the question DO YOU ACTUALY HAVE A GIRLFRIEND?I actualy was clocked pretty well up the bell but that didn't stop me from failing eighth and nineth and being sent to special ed,fuggin put on the rit,and over all,made an example of in high school.college was different though,i did exceptionaly well.i got to study music and walkin' into class two tics late wa'n't some kind of cardinal sin like to break you on the wheel or some such right?being a nerd though doesn't automaticaly make you some sort of genius cause you like DnD or do well in math like puzzles or possess the mythic grail of nerdom; a pocket protector!i don't for a minute suscribe to the idea that intelect and nerdom share any mutual exclusivity nor do i believe that I Q tests should be given too much validity.but speaking frankly i thought nerds were by definition supposed to be a rather dull lot of greasy haired model airplane builders with essetialy no sense of style or social skills who masturbate excessively. well who would find that attractive?another desperately undersexed individual?that would be my first call. | |
