Attacking your comments is NOT attacking you, if you are debating/discussing something, be prepared to defend and/or back up your comments with cites/facts/logic - NOT PERSONAL ATTACKS But what if someone insults/flames/trolls me? Do not retaliate, this just make more mess for the moderators to clean up, making you as guilty of breaking the rules as the instigator - ignore/or ignore report - that's one of the reasons there are moderators. Instigators and antagonists are treated the same
