I have never formerly introduced myself.
I'm from Winter Haven and have been a POF member for over 2 years now. I was lucky enough to find my "special someone".
I stay on here because of the forums...great place to meet new people/friends and learn about get togethers in your area.
So...make it a point to visit the FL forum often, check out all the threads. Don't be afraid to post but be warned, it can be addictive.

Posted: 8/5/2009 5:05:54 AM | Odd, I never did this intro thing in the 5 years of being off and on here at POF. So I guess it's never to late. I have become somewhat of a forum junkie and now, more so a forum junkie if the Florida only forums.
Like some of you, I am here at POF just to get out of this dating pond. Yeah, I'm looking for the one and only. I'm not here for just dates. Dating to me is for the purpose of finding the one you can't live without. I thought I found her over 3 years ago, but sadly, it did not work out.
In the few threads for Florida that I have posted in, I have enjoyed some funny interaction with several of the regular fellow forum junkies. I would even like to meet several I have come in contact with through these forums. Gee, maybe I will have to become a POF get together junkie too! Seems like several threads include many that have met each other in person that way. To bad there are not more POF parties in my area. ( SW FLA , Fort Myers, Cape Coral Naples area) So I might even make a trip across the state or north to where more gatherings seem to take place. There are some that I have made friends with, just through these great forums that would be worth the drive just to meet in person. Not necessarily for a relationship beyond that friendship, but just to get to know better as a friend.
Last week I did finally meet one dear friend that has been a very important part of my life when I needed a friend. She was always there for me to lean on as my on again, off again relationship crumpled before my rose colored glasses covered eyes. Damn, how did she put up with me! But like a true friend, she did.
Had a great day with her, her sister and nephew at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. It was a special pleasure just to hug her.
Well that covers it. Hope to make more friends here and maybe at some party. But to be honest, I hope I'm not here long. I'm one of those that simply hates being single. Life to me, is to be shared with that one special person.

My name is Jim and I have lived here since 1999. I drive over the road truck which makes it hard it seems to find someone to be in my life.

I've been wasting my life away on POF for almost 3 years, though I never made any posts in the forums before a couple of weeks ago when I asked for a profile review. I've had bad "forum addiction" on other sites in the past and I hope this doesn't lead to me falling off the wagon!
