| Introduction Posted: 7/12/2008 5:06:59 PM | Well, I think somebody should tell folks there's forums for Louisianians here, and poke them until they come introduce themselves!
I'm Caroline, and I live in Natchitoches. I'm 44, and a nurse, though I'm not working right now. I'm really into holistic healing.
I haven't been "single" in a long time, I am what is considered a "young widow" though I'm probably more like a middle-aged one He was a great guy and a good husband, but he was also ill for a long time and I spent several years caregiving him at home and in the VA. So I'm tired of being "shut in" and looking for friends, activity partners, people to hang out with and have fun and conversation.
I don't have any children (just the four legged kind) and previous to marrying and moving to Massachusetts, I lived down on the Northshore.

| Introduction Posted: 8/15/2008 8:35:04 PM | Well, I'm not shut in like I was... I have been caregiving family for several years, so that I really had no life outside the home except running errands and shopping. My DDH was ill for several years, passed away this spring at the VA in Alexandria, and my Mom is in a local nursing home following a severe stroke a couple of years ago.
Now I'm here wondering what to do with myself, I'm working on relicensing and that practical kind of thing but it really is ironic that I am back in my old home town after all the years I moved around trying to avoid it!

When you say "does not want children" does that also mean, you wouldn't give someone an chance who has a child?
|
| Introduce Yourself Here. Posted: 9/13/2008 7:21:35 PM | | I would not. I am about to start my residency years which might involve a significant amount of moving around. I recognize that it would not be fair to drag a kid through it all. I moved around a lot as a child and understand the impact it can have. That being said, I don't like the idea of having any of my own either, so "does not want children" is the correct thing to put at this point in time. Kids are not my cup of tea right now. | |
