Posted: 8/2/2005 9:01:27 AM | I grew up off and on here in Vegas since about 4 years old. I am originally from Texas, and still have some country roots, but I am ecclectic enough that you can barely tell... except when my accent sneaks through.
It would be great to meet some people locally... its hard to get to know people just through e-mail or the site... though the forum says a lot about people. It would still be nice to meet some of yall...

Posted: 2/11/2006 5:42:45 PM | My name is Matthew and I have tried two other sites before coming here. So far I have not had any luck of finding my life partner or soul mate. However I am not discouraged and would rather wait my whole life than settle for anyone out of fear of being alone. In my life I have gone through many stages in dating and in general life experience. Through my dating experiences I have finally realized what is important to me in life and in having a relationship. The two go hand in hand.
I was engaged once when I was 19 and it didn't work out to the point of my heart being broken. This caused me to be very careful to the point of slowly shutting out my feelings in fear. This was a very destructive way of coping with my fears. I became someone else the person I thought other people wanted to see or be with. It took awhile to realize what a mistake I had made and change my way of living and being me. Going through a spiritual crisis wasn't easy but was definately worth the struggle. Since that time things have improved for me dramatically. I saw through the b.s. of what life and being human was portrayed to be. In analyzing this I broke through the barrier of this illusionary state and finally started to see life as it really is, or what it is to me in my perception.
I caused harm to women I dated by hiding myself out of fear, by acting indifferent. It made me sad to realize what I had done and it took a long time to forgive myself. This forgiveness is necessary to anyone to really experience love. You absolutely must love yourself to love another. This is a wonderful thing to follow through with though because in order to truly love yourself you will see you need to live your life in a way that respects those around you as well as their beliefs. Everyone has the right to live their life the way they want to. Obviously there are exceptions to this if it causes harm to another person or group of people.
I am not by any means a wealthy man. I have enough and I have my dreams that I am following. Living a simple life is beautiful to me. Having to have "things" only leads to sadness. No thing can ever love you back. Meaning lies in love and in caring for those around you. Do not think this easy, I struggle almost every day to realize this. We all have our struggles with addictions and it isn't easy to overcome them. This process never ends or gets easy. That was hard to accept to. I always felt that some day I would not have to struggle anymore but that is not the case. Life is a constant struggle but can be less so with perserverence and practice. I am ready to experience a true relationship with someone who is open to this kind of thinking. No more games or drama. I live in reality, will you with me?

I live near the Strip (walk there and back daily for exercise), still have no idea where to go to meet locals (if there really are locals...) so I'm giving the dreaded online thing a try. This seems to be a good site, so I figured what the heck.
I don't smoke or gamble and only drink now and then so there are no temptations waiting to wreck my life here in Disneyland for Adults!

I live in a 55+ Manufactured Home Park and you can tell my yard because it is the only one with gargoyles and a Buzzard sitting on an outdoor table…Oh and the Skull Wind Chimes… LOL
I am 55, been living in Vegas for about 6 years and am divorced. I moved here because it is nice and warm. The older I get, the warmer I like it. I am not the typical 55 year old since most of my hobbies and likes seem to not fit well with a guy my age. (Check out my profile). I refuse to grow up. I am looking for a nice woman next door just like Morticia Addams ROFL…

My name is Gina and I got on the site about 2 weeks ago but just learned there are forums, haha. What can I say?! LoL
Lived in Las Vegas my entire life and considering moving away but I'm not sure. I have one son who's 22 and believe it or not, he's buying my home. Guess he loves home that much huh? After that, I have no clue since my original plan was to move to Washington State but I'm feeling a bit torn about leaving all my family behind. Not like I'm in a rush.
I love racing my car and use to race american cars when I was younger as my dad has always been in to fast cars and it obviously got past on to me and I past it on to my kid. If you want to know more, feel free to read my profile.

Which is the reason dating is so hard for me. I like to read but my favorite ultimate thing to do is watch fooball....Go Vikings!!! I had a good time at the Halloween party. Sorta shy but it was my first event. Next time I will be more of a social butterfly...lol Hope to see new faces at the next one.
