I have learn that most people can have a relationship if they really want one.The problem is we don't want the person who shows an interest in us.We have this idea in our head of what we want and to many people it isn't realistic.If they existed? They wouldn't want us.I think maybe, we really don't want a relationship so we hold on to this fictious person and keep searching like we have all the time in the world.We will live forever and have good health and never age or lose our attractiveness.Part of this comes from tv,films and books.In a movie a woman runs a personal ad and Brad Pitt answers it.He's rich and has an exciting life and although he dates alot of women he falls in love with her alone.On a tv show a guy meets a beautiful woman (whoever is the current sex symbol.) who happens to be lonely and available and falls for him because he's a "nice,decent guy".I believe my ideal is a pretty,trim,considerate,affectionate,trustworthy woman really for a committed relationship.Who is willing to deal with my schedule and lack of a car.I keep believing it is possible although I haven't dated the same woman twice in months.If we truly want a relationship we have to make room in our life for another person to feel welcome. | |

So that brings me to this forum to introduce myself.
Oh, I almost forgot:
The website is basically a free contests site, I wanted to build a site which gives you people with no money, a chance to make something, without spending a penny, basically, it attracts alot of people that enjoy playing different online games and tournaments, for free.

Posted: 4/14/2006 6:57:01 PM | recall, it's interesting that you think women over 40 aren't realistic (as stated in another of your posts), but then you have your own long list here of what you want. Nothing I've seen in many posts by women over 40 on POF has sounded unrealistic.
But, what if you met someone who didn't have one of the traits you listed? Is that a delabreaker for you? Ot would you be able to compromise if they weren't as pretty as you'd like, or as trim? Your statements sound more like people should settle for something less than what they want, rather than continue to search for someone who meets the important traits they're looking for. While there are some things that one can compromise on, certain traits, for example, fidelity, trust, honesty, compassion, humor, wanting/not wanting children, religion, etc. are things that are very important to some people and finding someone who doesn't have these traits means a relationship that will not work out.
As for not wanting someone who has an interest in us, I have to disagree there a bit...if it's someone who has the same values I do and wants the same important things in life (not material things), then it would be great if we had a mutual interest in each other. But if that person doesn't have those values and traits that are important to me, then why would I want them to be interested when I know I can't reciprocate their interest? Simply to have a relationship? No thanks. I'd rather be alone than with the wrong person. | |

I am a youthful looking 45 year old who lives in Westchester County north of NYC. It's a pretty cool area. I am actually trying to find a few things in life...a job that I would truly love and a man that is the one for me. I like to think that we all go through times in our lives where we face different crossroads and I think I have once again come to one. I am a Capricorn, so I always land on my feet and have pulled myself out of a lot of predicaments. But that's probably because I am a risk taker...lol
I have been on this site for quite a few months and compared to other sites I think it is great. I have met quite a few nice people here and gone out on plenty of dates. I realize that job interviews and dating are both the same thing...you have to just keep plugging away until the right one finds you. Hope all the newbies enjoy this place as much as I do.
