Posted: 11/23/2007 5:40:26 AM | Hi. I have made NC my home about 2.5 years ago but am having a terrible time meeting new people, establishing new friendships, and especially exploring something deeper and long-term with someone special.
Truthfully, I wonder where the term "southern hospitality" came from, because as a very outgoing warm and friendly person, I'm becoming more introverted due to the harsh callous attitudes and demeanors in this state, especially demonstrated by females.
I have been on fish for almost a year; have spoken online many times with countless men s but it seems that they never want to meet in person. I am not comfortable with endless online relationships that remain exclusively online. I have had many deep conversations, and have even been proposed to online (LOL); but have only been able to even try to arrange a meeting 5 times; out of those, 3 times was stood up and the other two times at least they had the courtesy to cancel. I also had one accidental meeting which was awful because the person had severely misrepresented themselves online - when caught, they said it was because they thought that i would be embarrassed. I am not judgmental of people, that is for a higher power. But I believe that if someone weighs 500 lb, they ought to be honest about that. If I were severely overweight, I wouldn't misrepresent myself because I would want someone to care for me for all of me, imperfections included.
OK, guys; I need to know how this works in your minds. Is there something wrong with my profile, my pics, WHAT????? My profile is sincere and honest but I am willing to explore a different way of expressing myself if it will help. I am open to hear your perspectives.

29 year old, widowed & single, white female, from Roanoke Va, No kids, Spent plenty of time in Swansboro, Greensboro, Raleigh and a few other places in NC.
I work in the medical field, medical examiers assistant to be exact. i love my job there is really never a dull moment. I like to be adventious, and do alot of things on the spur of the moment. Well thanks all... Maybe Ill actually meet some people on here and make some friends...

Posted: 12/17/2007 7:18:48 PM | Hi Denise! I live in Fayetteville too; however, I'm way older than 18 or 19 Fort Hood is no better, and in a lot of ways worse than Fort Bragg/Fayetteville. For one thing, it's hotter than hades there, and it's a dry heat that bakes everything. For another thing, there are****oaches that cast shadows, and when you go to the ATM at night, there are swarms of grasshoppers that are everywhere, to include on the ATM machine! I'm an Army brat and have been married 2 times to military men (one retired with 20 years, and I have to tell you that with all the improvements in roads, the cost of living, proximity to the mountains, beach, big cities in N.C., Georgia, and Virginia--Fort Bragg/Fayetteville is a great place to live. There are definitely worse places to be. Finish high school, get your Bachelor's degree, then go for a Master's Degree, then a Ph.D--in that order.  As for the guy, there are "plenty of fish in the sea" and you've got a whole lot of living to do before you settle down with one! | |

I am in school for Simulation and Game design, yup, midlife career change lol
I'm originally from NY, but left almost 20 years ago when I enlisted in the Army.
I am single, never married, dont drink, smoke or do drugs
I have a son, 5 and a daughter 10, I see my son almost every weekend, but no clue where my dasughter is :( (thats a looong story)
I've recently started going back to church so I can be a better role model for my son, and I want him to have a better spiritual upbringing then I did. This is VERY important to me.
I like to hike, camp, fish, read, watch movies, shoot pool, and do 3d modeling on the computer. I'm also into military reenactments and paranormal investrigations, yes i am a nerd lol
