hello, my name is jason. i seem to have a love/neglect affair with this site as my visits are sporatic. this site is fun and all but the ladies seem so certain of what it is they want and i only know what i do not want. i have gone on a few first dates through pof and had fun but not at all close to ideal or even 2nd dates. i would really like to know how many actual dates people have been on and how they went in a nutshell.

Another disillusioned single trying to adapt. It seems like a natural progression in the dynamics of dating so why no embrace it. Any singles activities in the area? If not i would be interested in organizing something. I have the perfect venue. Good luck

pbaby...I think each state or province has one.

I've been here for awhile and this site was pretty dead. Its just starting to pick up momentum!

Seems most people are from the north end of the state. We "flirt" at the idea of get togethers down here...but we just can't seem to pull it together.

Welcome to you newbies. The forums are fun and I've met some really nice folks...just not that elusive man that suites just me.

peace,
WS

Hi!

I'm not getting near enough attention from my profile alone so I figure I should start frequenting the forums.
If you're curious, go poke around my profile!

I poked around. Nice profile. I wish I were about 25 years younger... ;-)

There does seem to be less activity, in general, on Plenty of Fish than on some other (paying) sites I've been on. I think it may be related to the fact that this site is essentially free (except for having to put up with obnoxious ads), and I have suspected that this makes people take it (and the profiles on it) less seriously. It's sad, but if you have to pay or work hard for something you tend to value it more. I used my 3 Free day trial on Match.c recently and during that time had 135 people look at my profile and 15 women send me emails. I've been active on Fish for about the same amount of time, now, and have had a small fraction of the same interest shown and nobody has tried to contact me or has responded to my gentle inquiries. And it's essentially the same profile with the same photos! The people on this site are basically the same ones (in some cases, exactly the same ones) you will find on match or any of the other paying sites, yet they seem to spend more time and energy on the paying sites. I guess I'll have to fork over the dough one of these days and make myself look valuable... LoL

Hey Everyone!

I'm young (23), but I'm pretty new to the dating thing. I was in a long-term (5+ years) relationship and simply couldn't move forward with getting married, so here I am! I'm at a really good place in my life - I live in NW Portland, I have an excellent job, I've got 2 cats that hate each other and a bunch of amazing friends.

Well - I really have no idea what else to say...hopefully some cute guy will stumble upon my profile soon, but we'll see.

Howzit, howzit, howzit and Aloha from Beaverton.

First time doing any of this and I'm still feeling my way around the joint. A friend of mine seemed to be having quite a bit of fun and success with this site so after listening to him for the past couple of weeks, I simply had to check it out.

So here I am.

Yeah, what he said...

Ya know...summer's here. Seems like it's time for enjoying the little sunlight we get, walking along the waterfront or wandering through open-air markets. Maybe a drive to the coast. Or an evening dinner on the back porch of a nice restaurant.

Wishful thinking on my part, I suppose...

I reckon you R a young lady. I'm too old 4 U but I'd still like to visit if you don't mind? "looking for a good woman to keep house, cook , clean fish. Must have boat & motor. Send picture of boat & motor!!" Well, I ain't so mercenary and I'm not into romancin' someone too young. You said you were a 'boat lady!' I'd like to meet a boat lady! I have a small lil' ol' subaru. is my thing! I am retired, so I'd like to know if u can tell me about a small trailer or whatever rig so I can go fish on the other side of the lake once in a while. I'm Stephanie and I live near Eugene. I am new to the forum and really like to stay away for the most part because it makes me feel like I have nothing else to do. No offense to anyone who may frequent the area. Anyway, nice to meet you.

not to portland, to this thread!

i just moved up from the south coast a month ago. i am really loving portland and all the diversion so far. sooner or later i'll miss the coast, for sure, but for now it is great to be in a town with lots to do, a lot of political and humanitarian activity, and people!! if i make it past the month mark , then there might be potential for a relationship. (that goes for anything)

cheers!

Hi everyone. I'm new to Plenty of Fish and just wanted to introduce myself. I joined after being fed up with some of the other sites and a friend recommended this site. I don't know what else to put here but I am an educated, traveled woman who moved to S. OR after retiring from the Air Force. I love the area but it's not easy to meet quality, educated single men here so hence the internet dating. Best wishes to all in finding what you are looking for!!!

Hi All! I live in the Coos Bay area. I stole my cat's name. No, I'm not really Bunniesue. I've been single 10 years now and have done plenty of reflecting and personal growth. I've got two grown sons ages 23 and 26 who I love to pieces. I love listening to live music and will in fact go to a bar to hear a good band. I'm into the paranormal and belong to a ghost hunting club affiliated with the local community college. I read a lot and have been into memoirs lately. My favorite author is Augusten Burroughs and my current favorite movie is What the Bleep Do We Know!/Down the Rabbit Hole with Marlee Matlin. I have a lot of interests, but live an almost hermit-like life. This 4th of July weekend will be spent investigating a supposed haunted house and hanging out in Bandon. I love interesting, quirky people. I love men with long hair...old, long-haired hippies are far out.

Hey everyone. My name's Mark. I live in Hillsboro but would love to move closer to Portland so I can spend more time downtown. I'm the type that loves to joke about most everything, I love the outdoors and my dream job is to be a musician. I generally read the forums for fun without responding but who knows? That may change if I feel there's something worth saying (such as an intro!).

Hi there,

Not too sure exactly what to say here as I have only found this part of the plenty of fish site. But I can relate somewhat as I got out of a 5 year relationship as well. This was about 2 years ago but still same timing lol. I am interested to know, what made you feel that you couldn't get married? Sounds like you have a great job and you really do have your head on your shoulders quite well.

Anyways, send a message back to me.

My name is Alice. I'm new to dating and this site. I haven't dated, but my late husband in over 30 years. That puts me back to almost high school. I'm older wiser and I know myself better now, then I did even then, but I'm sure that is the case with most of us. I really love life and try not to let things get me down. I'm not sure of what else to say. Smile and have a great day.

My you bounce through it:
