Almost new to the area
Posted: 1/6/2009 5:58:46 PM
Howdy there,
If you have read my profile, you will know that I am not quite up in the Portland, Oregon area as of yet. I am interviewing for a job and should know one way or another where that stands shortly. As it is, I am looking to find someone up in Portland, but also to find out whats going on, what fun people are having and so on.

I've been on PoF for a few months, but maybe it's time I made a proper local introduction. I'm a lifelong Oregonian (though not a true native, sorry to you die-hards!), grew up in the Klamath Falls area, went to school in Ashland, lived in Portland for most of a decade, and am now back in the Rogue Valley. My heart, and most of my friends are still in PDX, so there's a possibility I'll move back.

I was widowed nearly two years ago, decided 6 months ago I was definitely not ready for a serious relationship, and have found PoF a pleasant way to meet guys of all shapes and sizes, just to hang out and have a good time. At the same time, if there are any girls in the Rogue Valley who are looking for a friend to go out with- drinks and dancing, for instance- I'd be thrilled!

When you enter this thread through a numbered page it titles itself "Thread: Patiently holding my "Hot Sauce Hall Pass...." "

Where did that come from and what is it supposed to mean? PoF glitch :-X

If you go to the very first page of this thread (it dates back to 2005) you'll see the posting referring to the hot sauce! I hope the guy finally got a date.

Wow - I've been coming here for some time and last night was the first time this Oregon forum popped up on my computer. Do you have to post so many times before it gives you your state forum? Oh well, anyway . . . I live in Eugene, have never been married, but have been in a few long term relationships. Haven't had one for many a year. Took a break for a while. At any rate, there are a lot of things I haven't seen in this wonderful state and in this world for that matter, and I'd like to have someone to go places and do things with. Oooo, hanging preposition, I suppose I should have said 'with whom to go places and do things.' I am an independent woman, meaning that I have always taken care of myself -- not that I am just looking for someone that I can kick to the curb as soon as possible (saw that someone had posted that independent women scared him). I had a spinal fusion in November, so I'm not quite turning cartwheels yet, but I am up and around and moving and even going for long walks, so I'm on the mend. My physical therapist says he's amazed at how strong I am getting. Spring is just around the corner and it will be perfect weather for hiking or just going for a nice ride and exploring new territory. I hope to meet some of you along the way.

Howdy Oregonians!

I was around for awhile looking for someone to share my life with. I met some nice people here at POF, and got really hooked on the forums during my search. The guy I fell in love with contacted me from another site. After our first meet, we have been together ever since.

I took my profile down for awhile after I knew for sure this is the relationship I was searching for, but I missed the forums so I am back to keep reading and learning about all the great fishies here.

Good luck in your searches everyone. It really is possible to find love online!

Timing my eventual arrival to coincide with finally getting here
Posted: 3/28/2009 3:16:25 PM
Hello and hi! My name is not Mr. Bitterness, but it is my tag on POF. You can call be Bit if you like, or, as I say to those whom I introduce myself using my real name, call me anything you please, just don't call me late for dinner!
I'm a lifelong resident of Oregon, a southern valley boy from the more conservative side of the river (Thurston to be exact) and the more liberal side of thinking. I hail from one of the first families to homestead in Thurston, so if you're well versed in local history you might guess my surname.
I've been out of the dating scene and single for 10 years, which was fine in my youth, but age makes you crave the kind of companionship that a trusty dog at your side can't offer, and so with the new year I resolved to let 2008 be the last year I was single, or at least the last year I avoided dating.
As I told my HR manager a few days ago, I'm not a super ambitious guy, but there are some goals in my life that I'm set on achieving, high on the list being early retirement and the pursuit of some of my more mad schemes.
And lastly, I apologize if I my palms were sweaty during that initial handshake! It's nerves you see. Ten years of near hermitude followed by a reckless plunge into socializing can do that!

Hi,i like this dating site more then any i have ben on!i have had no luck, but i know eventually the right one will come to me from that wishing star that i have ben wishing on for so long. Not that i am desperate or anything, and i need someone to love me.But Something pulled me in this direction not knowing if it was a good thing or a bad thing, i went with it.Anyway,i'm pretty much blabbing.I'm a sweet normal down to earth 32 yr old BBW and i'm happy with who and what i am and blaahhh!hehe. Ok,i know...a little to much, but that's me.(in a good way)(at least I've ben told.

I moved here from NY about 7 years ago. I have fallen in love with the beauty of this state. I think I could spend several life times here and not see it all.

I can't claim I understand Oregonians. When I drive they keep yelling at me to move back to California for some reason. I generally yell back a string of expletives in my best Brooklyn accent. No one has ever replied after I do that. Like I said, I don't understand these people.........

And I would kill for one decent slice pizza or bagel.

ps. Someone please help Rugby find some pants.

Grad student, Eugene area
Posted: 4/13/2009 3:48:35 PM
I'm a recent immigrant to the Eugene area, to attend grad school at U of O (though I've been an Oregonian since 1980). Unfortunately for anyone interested in spending time with me, the Architecture program doesn't leave a lot of time for anyone not in one of my studios, but I'm eager to make time for the right person.

I'll leave the rest to my profile, but artistic, creative and particularly theatrical people are my people. Definitely not technophobic, though. Active Wii/PC/Blackberry user. Just another creative outlet in my book.

Great to "meet" you all.

LATINA,BLACK AND ASIAN WOMEN!
Posted: 5/13/2009 9:45:24 AM
ever notice that almost all women profiles on pof and other dating sites in the USA are caucasian ( white women )..not that there are not plenty of asian, black and latina women in the USA....that being said it makes me think that asian, black and latina women have more going on in thier lives than to play a game or scam some man on a dating site like the lame american white women...and this is comming from a white guy...ps this is the first and only time i have ever even come to this forum section and last..just had to share a thought in my head..

LATINA,BLACK AND ASIAN WOMEN!
Posted: 5/19/2009 1:45:44 AM
and then again, maybe some of the white women are just a little more tech savvy?

I'd venture a guess that if you did a survey that is what you'd find.

I don't know what you mean by scams, and I have plenty going on in my life, despite the fact that it's 1:30 a.m. and I'm typing this. I don't sleep well, it's a symptom of being a woman over 40.

Anyway, anyone with a handle like "usahottie71" should expect to get scammed. I should call myself "reallifebarbie", you think?

Lame American white women like me are divorced and starting their lives over in a dating world turned upside down since the last time they dated! I for one still haven't quite figured it out.

Anyway, introductions! I'm a native Oregonian, born here in Portland. I've met a couple of nice guys here on PoF but I hate to admit I met one of my now best male friends on the infamous "c" list.

Sometimes I think I should make a list of what I don't want in a mate, instead of what I do, but either way, they won't get what they want either ;p I will still be a pain in the ass sometimes. And I snore.

Pet peeves: Facial hair (on myself or my date!), poor grooming, failure of my dates to worship me as the superior being I am...

I am, according to a test I took (somewhere, on another dating site) "THE GOOD GIRLFRIEND". On Facebook, I took a test to see how well I knew men. I scored 100% without cheating. Fortunately, men are simple so it wasn't hard.

I hope you read this in the spirit it was intended--mostly humorous, with a hint of sarcasm.

Hope to see you around PDX!

Hey everyone, mine name is Adelbert. Weird name in a weird city! :P Well I have two jobs and make decent money, so when I have my off days I really like to splurge on entertainment. And Portland sure has a lot of it. I'm eating out all the time and I dance a lot at night. I also go hiking every once and a while, so I'm very active. This fish is probably going to get away unless you have good hooking skills. ;)

I am a confident, sassy, fun to be with "cool-as-hell" black woman with green eyes and happens to be of a voluptious size. I enjoy concerts, outdoor sporting events, movies, trying new restaurant types and new to the Pacific Northwest. I'm loving those Amtrak train rides all over, how ro-man-ti-kit. Looking to find an adventurous guy who is down to earth and has a very good sense of humor.

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am the one they refer to as "Andrew" and I'm located down in Salem (yes, that was cheesy, but I was trying to be different! *shrug*). Always glad to meet new people around here. Feel free to say hi!
