Posted: 5/21/2006 7:34:21 AM | One week's worth of new to POF, and I only learned about the local forums this morning (I've been posting in "Over 45").
Five month's worth of new to Texas, wondering: if I'll ever get used to how different it is; if my work schedule will ever allow me time to see any of what the DFW area has to offer; if that same schedule will ever allow me time to meet someone to show me around; if I sound silly to native Texans when I use "y'all" (which, from a language standpoint, feels as natural as breathing)...
One thing I've noticed already: Texans have an almost national identity and pride, as if -- even though it's part of the US -- Texas was still an independent country. | |

I use the name hoopdog69 because that's what the daughter of a close friend named me (my last name being Hooper) and the 69 is for the year of my birth so don't get any wrong ideas about that.lol | |
