I'm new to POF. Been divorced for 8 years, and on my own, single, the past year.
I must say, dating sucks! 
But having a close relationship with someone you get on with well makes you feel pretty darn good.  So here I am. :)
I guess my approach to life is that you will always have yourself and that you should first be comfortable with yourself and your life, honor your dreams, desires, and ambitions. Having a companion is the rich, tasty icing on the cake of life.

Posted: 1/24/2009 2:52:51 PM | I am new to POF and am an easygoing, humorous guy that enjoys laughing & a good joke. I appreciate living in the beautiful state of Washington and the PNW. I lived in Idaho and worked at the university library in Moscow, taught middle school science when living in Oregon but came back to roost in Washington now for a number of years, having worked with incarcerated adolescents for over 15 years. Never a dull moment! I now have a small computer shop & also work for the USDA part-time. Looking forward to posting on the forums and getting to know others. And when there is a pause in the conversation, its time for a 'wooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooo.'  | |

Posted: 2/15/2009 10:42:09 PM | I signed up here a few months ago, and I have had some emails from a few local men.
One guy I actually met, and after that he almost became invisible. We would chat on Yahoo messenger for hours, but he couldn't bring himself to talk on the phone very much. He used dial-up for his internet, and he would turn off his cell phone, so he was hard to reach.
After I met him, and I bought lunch, because he "forgot his money".....he seems a bit preoccupied. I thought he was just busy with doctors and stuff like that, because he had surgery on his wrist for carpal tunnel. Turns out, that was not the case at all.
This guy was not who he said he was, he even had a completely different name and background from what he had told me.
I only learned about him because I got an email from "Reunion.com" saying that another member had written to me. So I went to my profile there and found his picture with a different name under it. I about fell off my chair, felt like someone and hit me between the eyes.
I wrote to him and asked him which was the right name and why he had told me different things. Well, he accused me of "spying on" him.....never did that, but I probably should have! I am now asking for ID if I meet someone, for my own protection, and I will only meet someone in a very PUBLIC place.
This may sound crazy, but it is true. Women, please be careful, if you have the name at some point, do a background check on the person, same for you men!! It has become commonplace for people to lie and cheat and steal just for the fun of it.
It is really a shame that this happens, it really hurt me, I did ike this guy, and then to find out that he had lied about something like his own name?? Why do people do these things, is it fun to them to hurt others just for the pure joy of doing it?? Well, it hurt me terribly, and I pray that it will not happen again.
I am seriously looking for someone I can trust and love and have that in return from him. There are men here that are seriously looking for someone, and I want to be able to trust you guys, but, one bad apple can spoil it for the whole bunch of you.
I'm sticking with it, I have faith that there IS someone in Spokane, WA that I will meet and fall in love with and he will love me too. I'm just waiting for the Mr. Right, I am not looking for something until I find Mr. Right.....I want a forever relationship, and I am willing to wait for that.

where does a person start, without it sounding like a police lineup. who am I? I am careing, generous,kind,relaxed,healthy,pasionate,focused,monogamy,loving. I also like random acts of kindness, the best is seeing someone putting $5 worth of gas in thier car and walking over and filling thier car up with my hose. I have in the past bought peoples groceries for them when they have forgot thier money or not had enuf money. like last friday when the girls asistance card didnt work I bought her diapers and formula for her,,, the hug was the best reward. my freinds say I am nuts but what the heck.... I also have no problem talking openly about sex in college I did an open forum in speech about sex and was asked to come back over and over remember Dr Ruth the kids at college called me Dr Duane and I am really sorry if this offends people but thats the way I am knowlege is everything and If I stopped one teenage pregnancy or death from Aids it was well worth it. My history>> I was married for 30 years wonderful years, untill the last 6 when my ex wife started suffering from severve mental illness and she finnally walked away,,,, so to protect myself I filed for devorce. I would have done anything to get her to stay but maybe it was my out or reward for my acts of kindness,, who knows... After many tears we are freinds now and I help her whenever I can>>> The future>> I would like to meet someone who is as careing, pasionate, loving, mono, healthy, no controllers I know what I want.. likes to travel, is tolerent of my work scheduale,, and really loves to smile and loves to make real love,,
