Posted: 6/19/2008 1:31:34 AM | I think these sites have use for people who have busy er I mean productive lives. I would never down anyone for using them. I am new and have my hesitations. I think a society that is to busy to meet people is a sad society. Hence why i wanted to move to Europe when I was younger. I think there are a lot of questions about relationships that a good conversation and wisdom can answer. 1. Calgary is full of wealth and a lot of women do like money and some don't. So if your pining after some out of your league woman with tons of money and your a broke ass artist. Come on find someone that either accepts you or is similar to you in ideals. When I hear the question where are all the good women? I get the picture the guy is thinking physically rather than mentally. what really matters to you physically is valid by both sexes but be reasonable. For instance I love eyes. If I find certain eyes unattractive then I probably am turned off of the girl. I have grown to find people amazingly attractive after getting to know them also, so you have to leave room open to grow but sometimes some people are just not attractive to us. We think we know ourselves so well but we don't. There is dreaming and then fulfilling dreams, the difference is drastic. Now honesty, someone can tell me what this is because I think it is constantly abused by both parties. Honesty is being yourself to me. If you do something don't say you don't to impress the other person. Don't drag out a dating relationship to end up showing someone your not who you say you are. It's not respectful.
Ultimately be happy with yourself. Who cares what some media influenced status quo is. There are 5 0 year olds that have never come to realize who they are and have lived miserable lives. The most unhappy people I have known in my life are the rich and the poor. The most content seem the ones who have everything they need. According to studies any more than 40 t0 50 thousand a year will not make you happy at all. They say whatever is needed to supply the necessities is what will make life less of a worry but that will be the peak of your happiness related to money. What else? Respect yourself. That took me awhile but finally I am here. Be who you were before the relationship but learn to give yourself. meaning a healthy relationship will not change you negatively or make you another person it should make you grow but not kill who you are. If someone shows an inkling of trying to change you really early on they probably are not worth your time. Now I mean positive things. Hopefully someone cares about you to want to change the negative things. but if they are to negative than it's probably better to stay casual friends until you notice a change. We are a cold and unfriendly society in North America and people seem more friendly on here than in the street. Probably because this gives them the ability to be open. Honestly people be open in the street. Talk to people and don't give the evil eye like your the *&^%. Guys don't always want to pick up girls. The hardest thing for anyone and this can relate to any area in life is to let go of the past and not letting future events be judged by the past. Give people a chance you might meet someone. Don't make your life busy make it productive.

My name is Tom and I have been in Alberta for Almost 2 years and in Calgary for the last year. I am originally from Montréal Québec , I am English but I also speak French. I love Calgary but find it to be a city where it is very hard to meet people. In Montréal there are people on the streets at night even in the winter, here it seems like everyone is hiding somewhere. I hope to make some friends soon, maybe through this website.
