I am fairly new to this also. These forums sure are interesting. Wish I could attend some of these gatherings but don't want to go alone. Little intimidated by it. But you all seem to have lots of fun here. Seen the pics from one of the gatherings. A variety of personalities. Very interesting. When I get the courage up I will attend. I am a 29 year old guy living in the 'Assiniboine' section of the city, meaning that I live in the pleasant section of downtown. I am photographer by hobby, and a technologist by lifetime interest. I have been working with some form of computer for nearly 20 years almost consecutively. I am here to try to find an honest woman who plays no games and understands that a little white lie, or a polite lie, is just as bad as a huge one. Oh, and they have to be into nice guys, cause this one would like, some day, to not finish last. Hope to meet a few of you at future events. | |

I discovered this sight a few weeks ago (wish I'd known about it long ago). Anyway, I thought I should properly introduce myself. My name is Heather and I live in Portage la Prairie, but I work in Winnipeg. Yes, I commute everyday - at least that's my current arrangement. I'm a homeowner and pretty attached to my place, so not readily willing to give it up for a new job in the city; but if the right man came along, I think I could be swayed to relocate. By the way, I'm a full-time technical support agent (internet services)/part-time student (Human Resources Management)/aspiring entrepreneur.
I'm here for the same reasons as most - to meet some new people, expand my circle of friends, and hopefully find "the one".
I have a vast array of interests (too many to mention here), an inquisitive mind (always looking to learn about and try new things), and a sweet, polite and attentive nature. I'm not ashamed to say that I wear my heart on my sleeve; it makes for an easy target and apt to be hurt more often, but the alternative is not an option for me. I am generally a shy/quiet person, especially amongst people I don’t know or in large crowds. On the flipside, once I get to know the people I’m with and feeling more comfortable, I’m quite outspoken, love to talk about and debate any topic, and am known for my sharp wit and quick one-liners. To that end, I’m certain I could hold my own with some of the regulars here and probably give a few of them a run for their money. Lol!!
I’ve noticed in reading through the threads posted here in the forums that POF’s are a close-knit group, especially among the regulars. I’m really looking forward to meeting all of you at a future Friday gathering or party - sooner rather than later. I'm especially looking forward to the warm hugs that I hear POF’s are famous for. Everyone needs a hug now and then. 
Anything else you want to know about me, feel free to ask. I'm very much an open book and a self-professed work in progress. With that in mind, you'll notice that my username and profile will change faster than the weather. Lol!!
What else can I say except ... if there is one thing I have learned in my life, it's that I still have a lot to learn.

Posted: 9/16/2006 12:03:46 AM | I suppose that I should introduce myself to the pond. I've been here a while, but mostly splashing about.
I'm not an average, on most bell curves. I don't feel the need.
I may not be delicate with some words. I know a lot of words and tend to exercise them, once in a while. Sorry if I offend anyone along the way, that's not my intent.
I have an education, rather Renaissance, but it will continue for the rest of my life. I like focus, but not at the expense of my other interests.
I have a few passions. I now seek another, female, of course. She'll have a challenge to keep up with me.
I'm a full-time father to an over-achiever. The big nuts don't drop far from the tree. He is amazing!
I'm well travelled, and not stopping now. I'm old enough to remember (mostly) the wonderful things I've seen. Nearing 50, I've seen a lot of life. I've enjoyed it all. I've got scars on my heart, but I don't let that get in the way of living a lot more.
I'm quieter. I've spent a number of years behind a camera, watching, observing, anticipating. I can't lose that aspect of me, nor would I want to. I was quite successful in this and you have probably seen my work.
I dress like a bum. It affords me anonymity and cheap clothing. I polish well, when needed.
I've loved with all of my heart. I'm now single. I'll love with all of my heart again.
I've learned what I like in life. I offer no excuses for who I am. I am, what I am, what I am.
I've been introduced to, and cherish, many aspects of advanced sexuality/sensuality. I don't hide from this, either. I "get" the basic premise of P/E. If you don't understand, its a long road to walk, before you can run, before you can fly.
Ok...I've now confused a few people. Sorry, I don't mean to. But, if you do understand, we may have a few things to discuss.

Thinking of doing a road trip for my geographical cure!
Got a Pegger POFer to play with the entertain me there too!  Of course not forgetting all of childhood friends.

I'm just discovering the forums here, and was a little suprised at how active they are. I hope to meet you (the guys too) someday. The pool tournament is very up my alley. Maybe next time.
I'm into music, college radio. travelling, pets, books, the gym, dining, theatre, and a lot of other things. I've got a unique sense of humour, and am not lacking in that. Send me a nice message. I'm quite friendly la la la!
